I saw the people who were holding placards condemning the EDL trying to push through the police LINES. When the fiasco was finished myself and 2 friends headed towrd Gotham Town for a drink. We were speaking to EDL protesters who were speaking to a police officer who clearly stated that the UAF had caused trouble and a couple had been arrested for breech of the peace. But obviously you must know better than him.

Speaking as a lass from Newcastle who was in town on that day, though not in a protesting capacity, I can assure you that the EDL caused no chaos. They walked the route they were given and dispersed after the protest.
The UAF were the trouble makers that day. They were the ones who broke through the police barrier in a vain attempt to get to the EDL protesters. They failed and were arrested. Check the stats, the arrests that day were UAF idiots.

Thridly it appears you have also been mislead. Our laws are not being undermined (evidence??). I know as fact that sharia courts are undermining British law. Daughters are sent to the family home land if they do not comply with rulings set down by that court, particularly with regard to marriage. Polygamous marriage is illegal under British law but sharia courts are allowing them, the ceremonies taking place at mosque, I know this as fact. Divorce is also undertaken by sharia courts. Again, factual and illegal.
I'm an English Democrat member and having the press compare us to the BNP has become mind numbingly boring and far from controversial I think you'll find the majority of people are concerned particularly about immigration and quite right too. The thing about the media is they reflect the views of their readers: many people do not like the EDL. That is a fact. Why? Whilst some, for example you, may not believe in extremism or violence an unfortunate number of people have links to organisations such as Combat 18 and the KKK. Regarding immigration the fact is we are all descendants of immigrants. Our island has been home over the millennia to so many different people, it has been founded on multiculturalsism. It can be easy to blame immigrants for any problems but actually net immigration has been decreasing steadily since 2007. We should really be looking at why their are problems. Why isn't the government creating more jobs? Why aren't they creating economic prosperity?

I attended the anti-EDL demo ORGANISED by UAF. In case you hadn't noticed on the news there were many trade unions, groups and more importantly individuals, who took the active decision to show that the EDL is not welcome.
I do not agree with the methods UAF use: violence is unnecessary and only harms their aims. Interrupting meetings is petty and childish.

Well I think it is telling that the EDL march began on the motorway and the train station, as there your supporters could arrive from across the country. Yes some in the Anti-EDL march were not from the region, but the majority were. At least anti-EDL supporters did not have to hold up banners saying 'Stoke'-as there were none from Stoke; we were able to garner LOCAL support.

Speaking as a lass from Newcastle who was in town on that day, though not in a protesting capacity, I can assure you that the EDL caused no chaos. They walked the route they were given and dispersed after the protest.
The UAF were the trouble makers that day. They were the ones who broke through the police barrier in a vain attempt to get to the EDL protesters. They failed and were arrested. Check the stats, the arrests that day were UAF idiots.

Thridly it appears you have also been mislead. Our laws are not being undermined (evidence??). A tiny minority of Muslims are extremists, however the majority are hard-working, peaceful, BRITISH people. However by ostracizing and chiding the the Muslim community the only thing this does is isolate them further; Moreover it encourages the proliferation of Islamist extremism. If muslims feel no one else is there then this gives the few extremists a chance to manipulate others.

I know as fact that sharia courts are undermining British law. Daughters are sent to the family home land if they do not comply with rulings set down by that court, particularly with regard to marriage. Polygamous marriage is illegal under British law but sharia courts are allowing them, the ceremonies taking place at mosque, I know this as fact. Divorce is also undertaken by sharia courts. Again, factual and illegal.

I'm an English Democrat member and having the press compare us to the BNP has become mind numbingly boring and far from controversial I think you'll find the majority of people are concerned particularly about immigration and quite right too. We don't need any more. For the size of this island, we have plenty. Whole areas of major cities are like foreign lands.

The thing about the media is they reflect the views of their readers: many people do not like the EDL. That is a fact. Why? Whilst some, for example you, may not believe in extremism or violence an unfortunate number of people have links to organisations such as Combat 18 and the KKK. EDL supporters performing nazi salutes and chanting against ordinary (not extremist) muslims also does not help.

The way the EDL are portrayed in the media and the bias in favour of the uaf is completely arse upwards. If more reporters actually picked up a dictionary from time to time, they'd refrain from calling the EDL fascist or racist, they're neither.

Regarding immigration the fact is we are all descendants of immigrants. Our island has been home over the millennia to so many different people, it has been founded on multiculturalsism. It can be easy to blame immigrants for any problems but actually net immigration has been decreasing steadily since 2007. We should really be looking at why their are problems. Why isn't the government creating more jobs? Why aren't they creating economic prosperity?

If we're an ISLAND then it is obvious that there must've been immigration in the first place. Even if the first human settlers crossed over during the ice age they were still immigrants. Lastly I am not part of the organisation UAF.
I attended the anti-EDL demo ORGANISED by UAF. In case you hadn't noticed on the news there were many trade unions, groups and more importantly individuals, who took the active decision to show that the EDL is not welcome.
I do not agree with the methods UAF use: violence is unnecessary and only harms their aims. Interrupting meetings is petty and childish.
I am an individual. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well I think it is telling that the EDL march began on the motorway and the train station, as there your supporters could arrive from across the country. Yes some in the Anti-EDL march were not from the region, but the majority were. At least anti-EDL supporters did not have to hold up banners saying 'Stoke'-as there were none from Stoke; we were able to garner LOCAL support.
