  • they must know when to take it or not

  • In the UK you can only register at ONE doctors surgery, you cannot go to different ones to get multiple prescriptions as you have an NHS (Health/Gov Number) and you are only allowed to register with one doctor.

If you want to transfer to another surgery you have to show ID and all your health notes go to the new surgery so there's no way you can go from doctor to doctor picking up prescriptions.

The US needs to implement this system

  • @ElleCM2

In pharmacies they should have boxes of "Placebo's" "Fake drugs" that resemble the ones the robbers want, that way , the thief robbing the pharmacy get's away with nothing at all :D

  • "Most people, and almost all medical doctors, still believe that prescription drugs are based in good science, and that pharmaceutical companies offer them in good faith. The truth, however, is not difficult to uncover: Many top selling prescription drugs are useless; some even cause the disease for which they are prescribed." -- "The Great Prescription Drug Hoax" by By Owen R. Fonorow

  • I have stayed away from ANY pharma..i see how it ruins lives, creates addicts, pulls ppl into a life cycle of drug use. Several of my childhood friends have died so that their misery stopped. The fact IS, most of that misery was caused by the very drugs they were LEGALLY prescribed. It's a cycle of companies profit, government lobbyists & healthcare /medical profiteering.STAY AWAY!The products you put in your body can kill you.

  • i know how hard it can be. to stop using. im self a addict. i have od over 4 times and 3 times were i close to die. people thats gets a chance to quit. than take that chance. or you will regret it forever.

  • @crasy4lifes my girlfriend is addicted ta pills idk how ta help her n its frustrating i feel helpless cuz it pisses me off, i mean she always says she wants ta quit then she does good for a while n then takes huge steps bakk

  • @clovisraider2

I was addicted to alcohol from the age of 15 to 26 , I gave up alcohol cold turkey, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Then one day after a headache my mother offered me some Codeine Phosphate (prescription Opiate) , I was hooked. I take around 140 pills a month, my prescriptions are monitored by my doctor. I was on 200 a month at first! so I've cut back 60 pills so far :D

and with my doctors support, he cuts the pills down every week to help me cut down and quit.

  • @clovisraider2

This is normal with addiction. Before I cut down and put in some will power to quit, I was going to the local pharmacy to get the OTC codeine and paracetamol it was lower in dose, but I would do "Cold water extraction" to get all the codeine out of the pill ,and get my high

I've since stopped. If your girlfriend tells the doctor she needs him to support her cut down her prescription weekly, she WILL quit! I am already on my way to quitting

  • To be honest, I think people who abuse prescription drugs are dumbasses. Don't blame the medical system for somebody's abuse of the drug. Stop placing blame where blame shouldn't be placed. The real problem is with the idiotic reasoning and irrational tendencies of the public. Come on, you really think taking a shitload of drugs is good for you? No! You have to be a fucking idiot to start abusing prescription drugs.

  • This is why i smoke weed.

  • ....

  • @pwg1126 i feel your pain. i remember being young and perscribed to ritilin. the effects were so pleasurable i remember nights finishing a whole bottle snorting without even getting any more high The come down that followed left me without a care if i died or not. I think ritilin just exposes children to an addictive side that doesnt need to be exposed yet, these doctors income is over 75% from perscriptions

  • i need this video

  • I was on vicodin for 13 years 15 to 20 a day. I tried a few times to get off of it but the withdraws were to painful. Didn't want to go to rehab because that will follow you around for the rest of your life. So what I did was turn to the lord and got serious about it. When I gave it to him the only withdraw I had was couldn't sleep very good for awhile but I will take that anyday. Jesus is the way there's nothing on this earth that can take your withdraws away right away like Jesus grace try it

  • Update: Palladone has been taken off the market (in the USA, that is). In all honesty, it is rare for someone with true AD/HD to be taking 60 (sixty) stimulant pills--or anyone for that matter--although again (as someone mentioned), someone without the condition could fake it, go to different doctor, or get a bunch from multiple friends (ILLICITLY and DANGEROUSLY) and then fake the condition and become "addicted" (dependent).

  • i am working in a cristian rehabilitation center gonna use some of these videos to show the how harmful this are

  • it mustr be really hard to "doctor shop" in america cos you have tro pay for an appointment.

its all free where im from so docs have no problem sayn "

NO" to these drugs cos ppl are there for free and thwere is no charge for the waiting time ect ect

  • those fentanol lollie pop pain meds should NEVER be taken out of a hospital....its the kind of drug very sick ppl use when they cant swallow pills ect ect...mainly for burn victims.

shouldnt be in someone's home thats for sure.

  • My son died at age 22 from an addiction to Ritalin. He had taken over 60 (20 mg) pills in two days. Sean told me he wanted help and wanted to know why God had put this curse on him. Sean told me I could not stop him from getting Ritalin he had learned too many ways to get this schedule 2 highly addictive drug. Now I want to help change this problem. I found out he had 2 psychiatrist, 2 (MDs) and even went to the emergency room. He used 3 different Pharmacies and pd cash. Take away medical card

  • @pwg1126 - I am very sorry for your loss...regards...

  • My 22 yr old son died Nov 4, 2009 from overdose of his ADD medicine for the past 10 yrs. Sean was on the Deans list in college before his life spun out of control. He dropped out of school. His psychiatrist recommended a treatment center in Houston (PaRC) who kicked Sean out for not buying in to his addiction. PaRC gave us a list of Halfway house. 7 days later Sean died in the back of his car in the parking lot. Sean took around 60 pills in 2 days. Ritalin an Adderall are addictive amphetamine.

  • @pwg1126 - I am very sorry for your loss...your comments with help others to recognize and prevent this type of problem...regards...

  • @pwg1126 im sorry for your loss.

are you sure your son had add?

are you positive he wasnt faking the simptoms to get the speed medication?

i dont meen any disrespect..its just i know alot of ppl with ADD and they dont abuse thier meds cos it has a differant effect on them and i doesnt get you high.

im just wondering why your son would take 60 pills cos i know if you're ADD it doesnt matter how much you take...it wont get them high.

like i said, no disrespect and im sorry 4 your loss.

  • very good-A very important subject but it does also get back to basic literacy..take a look at Alfie on You Tube;superjknott................................Will trips out on meds

  • its stupid that people care this much about stopping other people they don't even know or care about from taking a certain substance.. like wtf is wrong with people? Why would you wanna spend your time trying to catch and punish people for putting a drug into their body that doesn't cause psychotic behavior like opiates... Now stuff like PCP and meth and crack are all examples of drugs that burden society but opiates...no they only burden the addict.

  • cocaine is schedule 2 they messed up

  • hydrocodone thats wassssuuup

  • there is no war on drugs? Uh, I think someone forgot to tell the DEA and US federal government.

  • addicts are so smart going to the emargency room wasting hours and hours waiting to be seen and just gettin mehre crumbs 10-15 tablets per visit and messing up there credit with hospital bills.

  • Just more made up propaganda from the cowards and sociopaths of the DEA. Instead of going after real criminals they go after doctors and peaceful pot smokers and growers. This is another made up 'crisis.' Because of propaganda like this legitimate patients suffer every day. Fuck the DEA!

  • So explain all the celebrities that die of prescription drug overdose...we have a problem...we are going after the trendy narcotics...the DEA helps.

  • i was p[rescribed oxycontin for 3 years, on top of that, i was already a heroin addict and a script of OCs was great at the time.

im also addicted to benzos, been on valium for 4 years and now im on methadone so iv seen my share of perscription drug abuse...its nasty shit.

if you have kids, LOCK YOU MEDS UP, count the pills, miss nothing coz thats where it starts.

be smart or you WILL end up having a shit tip for a body. one extra pill can and will kill.

  • America's drug policy is evil! So is the DEA! Keep your laws off of my body! The war on drugs is not working... you are just giving the illegal drug cartels more money, power and reasons to commit violence! Legalize it and pull your heads out of your ass (those who think the government should keep marijuana illegal)! and TheFragile89, saying people should not be prescribed drugs ever? How stupid can you be moron! Read what you wrote and think again! Legalize drugs and save money and lives!

  • there is no "war on drugs"...wars end.

there will always be drugs and drug users.

  • Hey, sorry about all the stupid kids out there, BUT there is no excuse for the GOVERNMENT to be making any kind, let alone prescription drugs ILLEGAL only for certain people...pain patients WHO NEED IT. The doctors seem to have NO PROBLEM giving out scripts to druggys as long as noone has divulged a persons ANONYMITY or they believe you have a problem. My bible says that it is not what goes into a man that is unclean, but what proceedeth out of the man. Like evil judgements on users or SH*T.

  • cocaine is a schedule 2 drug- not a schedule 1- used as anesthetic in eye, ear , nose and throat surgery

  • after that video i need some drugs!

  • that happens to me alot man....and its hard coz im tryn to come off 8 year addiction so i realy shouldnt be watching this.

  • It sucks watching a family member kill themselves on pain medication and not know what to do!

  • Fentanyl is a narcotic is 50x more powerful than morphine. It seems the kid was not very tolerant and he had resperatory arrest or cardiac arrest. If you are thinking of taking prescriptions I will be making a video on how to use them so you wont die. I really should be telling you dont use, but I cant stop you.

  • Your being misinforming, Yes it is 50 times stronger than morphine but they prescribe, by size, smaller amounts.

  • yes, I know what you are tryng to say, it is prescribed as micro grans

  • I am a pain patient. Suffered for 30 years because my doctors say they are afraid of the DEA and the states medical boards. Treating pain patients like criminals because 1% to 3% of our population chosses to abuse leagl and illegal drugs is criminal but that's the result of this failed war on drugs! What's next, put cigerette smokers and alcohol drinkers in prison too? How about a war on poverty and leave the drug problem to medical professionals who are trained to deal with addiction!

    In Pain.

  • coke is schedule 2

  • The only people who bitch about prescription pain killers are dumbasses who have never had a serious disease like cancer that cause intense pain.

  • Lol 5:00 - 6:00 - Classic A-Grade Comedy.

  • #2: I've seen this over & over, especially with older people (including my own relatives) who have all their drugs & doctor visits covered by insurance.

CHANGE DOCTORS if need be if you think you or someone you care about appears to be hooked. There are other treatments.

Pain pills may take away pain, but it lasts for less & less time & depresses people mentally and physically. Get additional opinions before you accept a sole opinion of the AMA, controlled by the pharmaceutical companies.

  • #1: Prescription drugs "taken as prescribed by a doctor" can STILL lead to abuse and overuse and dependency (read "addiction").

Unfortunately, many doctors prescribe pills indiscriminately, and get their patients hooked. This is out of ignorance or out of greed. But the result is the same.

These doctors - who can be your regular "family physician" - do not suggest other treatments such as physical therapy, massage, yoga, meditation, mental focus and diet and exercise.

  • Great job!! These are the type of videos I'm looking for. Keep them coming.

  • HoldupHen, thank you very much for your comments!

  • The pharmacist who complains that it is hard to know if someone is genuinely ill or "kicking a habit" has evidently never heard of 'tapering' - gradually reducing the amount of the drug prevents severe side effects, which can include withdrawal-based death in some cases.

I have done this successfully many times - doctors often insist on it, even for some non-addictive medications. Smokers sometimes quit by reducing nicotine intake until their bodies no longer crave it.

  • Cocaine is a schedule 2 drug, not schedule 1 (granted an exemption under the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Substances).

    Temazepam is spelled incorrectly.

Serial substance abusers (who use anything available to get high) are different to those who accidentally become addicted (the targets of this film).

Nurses tend to use the drugs themselves, rather than resell them as the film suggests.

Rohypnol (a benzodiazepine) is curiously absent - perhaps because it is illegal in the US.

  • Dumbasses. If anything, people should be HAPPY about people abusoing CLEAN pharmaceuticals rather than unclean street drugs. And if prescriptions, especially opiates, would become limited, these people WOULD immediately turn to street drugs.

  • Wow, I think you missed the point of this video altogether.

  • The reason for drugs being available only on prescription is for doctors to be able to monitor their patient's use. They often neglect to do so, and patients 'doctor-shop' for their medications.

Australia has all but abolished doctor-shopping and medication misuse by monitoring all prescriptions through a central database - subsidised medicine means that there is little incentive for resale. Education includes this issue.

  • Thank you for posting this I volunteer with the local police and I get very little training in prescription drug abuse.

  • casmith245, thank you for watching and thank you for your comments!
