  • I am deaf student male in Health Science this fall semester. I don't know them. I never meet them. They seem very cool. That's very interesting in their story. Awsome!!

  • Dr. Issa includes everyone male, female, black, white, hearing, deaf, ect. He does not discriminate.

  • I took ASL here at RCC and it helps you to understand how the deaf community lives differently.

  • this has to be the best part of the class i would say. is when he brings guest speakers. we learn so much from this and we learn to appreciate more of the things we have around us.

  • I love the way that Dr. Ali makes the students the teacher. Like in this video with the pannel of hearing impaired sudents and in our class with the pannel of students of who had been to prison. I think that first hand discussion and encounters are the best way to learn. RIGHT ON DR. ALI!

  • thats funny cuz i took sign language last year in highschool and i could actually understand a lot of what she was signing. i think we all should learn sign language because we all have the chance of going deaf and sign is an easy way to communicate.

  • I have slowly started to learn that Dr. Ali is the type of professor that takes any opportunity that he can to make it a learning experience. He does not limit himself to one single subject and teach about it and only it, he broadens his knowledge and others knowledge by welcoming the opportunities there are to learn something new.

  • That first part was touching. I've always been very interested in ASL. I even took the class. I think its cool that you let them express themselves in your class. Most people dont even bother to interact with them. That is really cool and nice of you to do that.

  • I really liked watching the video with the deaf signing. Before I started College, I took a night class at Fontana High School( also the High School I graduated from) so I was comfortable there. I took a sign language class. So watching this video was nice. It was nice to be able to see real deaf people signing and to hear the interpreter say what those deaf people were saying.

  • Not only is Dr. Ali's class fun, but he also has serious moments as well. This clip gives you a chance to get familiar with a deaf person. They're people too!

  • Had a couple classes at RCC with deaf students, they even had an interpreter on some camping field trips.
