I have the vx2450, I use it as a computer monitor, not a tv. I use a speaker system, powered. I wouldn't get any use from an hdmi cable.. it's audio portion...unless I was connecting to a Tv from my video card. I guess others use monitor speakers. and therefor want hd audio in monitor speaker? :P that funny... anyhow... just thought I'd share my 2 cents...

Well AvidAngels is right, you can get a HDMI to DVI but order them from amazon. The price for a good HDMI to DVI on Amazon is around 6 bucks, you also need a rca to 3.5mm jack which cost around 1.76 or so. xd
I got this today and so far its ok....I am only using it as a secondary monitor. I am an animator and video editor and need a secondary monitor for browsing files and so forth so I don't need a super monitor for that...my main screen is a Apple Cinema Display. I would only recommend this monitor for regular users, not good for any kind of professional graphic work as color is less then optimal...but for a cheap secondary monitor there is no better deal I think.
@AvidAngels there is no HDMI input on this monitor..so either get a monitor with HDMI (hassle free) or get a converter HDMI to DVI (they are 30-50 bucks and i dont think it would sacrifice the HDMI quality)
@EuthanasiA12833 I prefer led with 2 hdmi port at the back,a vga or dvi port and audio in/out port. Hdmi cable is more convienient.. i dont have to use separate cable to get the audio signal.
@oblivion1024 No HDMI, this is a budget monitor. Bare bones, if you need HDMI there are plenty of 24 inchers with it, your just gonna pay 50-150 more.
How would you say the brightness is on this monitor? I have noticed some monitors are too bright for my eyes. Specifically I am interested in the eco mode, does it make a noticeable difference in the back light brightness? Thanks.
@astralmarmoset I also have one like this. Eco mode is very nice to the eyes. The screen resolution is very good, in the same league as samsung led monitors which i have personally used. I also has accurate color reproduction.
I just bought one. I was going to go for the VX 2439? as I was pleased with the cheaper price and adequate qulaity of my parents'. The store had none in stock so I got one of these instead, determined I was going to have a 24" display.
who would use a built in speaker on a monitor anyway? geez...

to use component or HDMI you'd need an adapter to DVI
cleantechauthority 5 months ago
I hope someone with this monitor can answer this question, can I use a component cable, or do I have to buy an adapter?
PhoneyFuture 5 months ago
@PhoneyFuture Get the ViewSonic’s VX2453, it has HDMI slots, no adapters needed and it comes with the cable.
