  • I can hear it... Even with my speakers turned off.....

  • Search youtube for Dial-up sound 700% slower. Stunning similarity!

  • Hello, can you hear me? Gordon?

  • Half-Life more than shooter game, it is full of mystery than other games......

  • Think that. End of the HL2 EP3 Gman saying us this words with this music;

We are done Mr.Freeman.I dont need you now so prepare for...

  • Kept me awake all night and was stuck in my head constantly for a week. Almost drove me to insanity.

  • well at least i will be awake all the night that is bad considering that i have exams tomorrow

  • Go listen to the song "Triage at Dawn" from the HL2 soundtrack, you can hear this track there, too. Slightly less creepy there, though.

  • I think of Salad Fingers when I here this

  • Well I wanted to sleep tonight. Thanks...

  • half life, the description is in the name

  • OK, that's creepy...I have been waiting for this video to load for a few minutes, and in the meantime I occupied myself with doing homework. I was writing away for several minutes, when suddenly, this video decides it wants to play :S

  • That Let me hear your war cry video in the suggestions bar is not helping at all :(

  • every time i hear this music, i have nightmares about the g-man stalking me. And this music is always in the background. brrr... chilly

  • u kidding people??? i show no reaction to it.... actually its my wake up alarm sound lol..

  • MoozE - Radwind Pt2

  • The man who made this song is a fucking psychopath...

  • Both sounds come from the Zero-G sample library called "Altered States". Like someone already mentioned, the first sample is called "distorted trumpet", and the 2nd is "is that the door?".

The 2nd one was also used in Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill Shattered Memories. Google for more info, if you want it. Together with G-man they make for a creepy scene, that's the magic of production. :)

  • that Chernobyl video on the suggestions doesn't make me feel any better...

  • aaaaw ^_^ i so loooove it! creeepy? you all pussies my frends.

  • @smartisnewsexy

I love it too. Especially the first part. It brings pleasant memories of the past to my mind. Not all of these memories belong to this reality.

  • The world is falling apart. Riots in Middle East, north Africa, The US, London. Oil prices are going higher. Militaries are being pushed to their limits and the citizens of other countries are startin civil wars. America is losing money and bankrupt. This music fits all of this perfectly.

  • @ray0426jh I read that in G-Man's voice and almost shit myself

  • Is there a jazzy or chillout song sampling the start of this ? It sounds oddly familiar.

  • @Ciogos Soma Fm Popped in my mind imediatly.

  • 0:22 "Heavy takes his driving test."

  • How did they know my favorite song?

  • I WILL NEVER PLAY HALF LIFE THE SAME EVER! AGIAN!!!!!

  • Oh fuck. Its the music from the friendly gnome thing. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @ForestJBrian

    I completely agree...

    Only ones where?

  • Listening to this in a dark room gives you bonus points.

  • How can this be scary lol?

  • When I played this video, my lamp start to flash.

  • Kind of reminds me of Sherbet Head by Boards of Canada.

  • Chernobyl isn't making it any better...

  • i can fall asleep 2 this kinda music...very relaxing

  • @JuggaloNinja669 You'll die in your sleep.

  • @ArtronConure o.o

  • This is creepy...

  • i dont like the chernobyl video down there.

  • I shivered from the top of my spine, to the bottom and back again.

    This was awesome.

  • This should be elevator music

  • @TheValkyrieful yeah but if this ever plays in a elevator get ready a pistol or browbar headcrabs are coming.............beacause this one time i heard something just like this and got rady a sharp piece of sissors from my pocket when the door opened i came out scearming take that Gman!!!! i was put on comunity service beacause of this song :(

  • @z0mbieKiller16 Cool story bro.

  • That music at the start, coupled with the GMan with the crow on his shoulder on the little tv in the derelict apartment block, was probably the most chillingly subtle scene in the entire series.

  • you want to know the definition of high octane nightmare music?

    THIS.

  • Listening to this while looking at gmans face...

  • @dungeon2crawler HOLY SHIT!!!!!

  • Am I the only who find it really creepy?

  • Play this backwards, and you can hear at the end "Gman..Gman..Can you hear me?"

  • @ForestJBrian wow thats scary yeah you can

  • This is that sort of creepiness you feel that has that sort of strange comfort mixed with beautifulness and mystery. I listen to this, wondering if we are not the only ones here.

  • Holy fuck, I hate this sound.

Amnesia aint got shit on this, also I have to poop now.

  • And from this very radio, my journey into Shortwave Radio began and then I found MattExzy, and now I can't sleep properly most of the time xD At least I don't have nightmares anymore xD

  • Half Life has some of the scariest music and ambience in the world...

  • @oblivion1241

indeed, after i saw that image of gman with the crow in his shoulder on the tv i had this nightmare where i was standing from the gman's perspective and the crow was telling me something, fuck it was scary. and there was this music playing in the background.

  • @oblivion1241 NOT

  • @Aluminiumimmunitaet then you have a bad taste in scary music....

  • @oblivion1241 music taste = nothing you can argue about or compare. Everyone has his own taste

  • @Aluminiumimmunitaet oh!if this song isn't scary to you...who do you even watch it?????

  • @oblivion1241 youre really this stupid Oo i cant judge about something i havent listened to you dumbf.. -.- do you feel smart with your stupid questions? are you at least trying to think before writting nonsense bullshit?

  • @Aluminiumimmunitaet nvm...this is just stupid...not the song...dont mind reply -_-

  • It took me so long to find that friggin' T.V, only to be a-scarded by Gman with a crow.

  • this reminds me when hl2 was released...it was epic....i almost cry :,( lolx D

  • This reminds me of walking in a forest, Its Christmas eve and its dark. Bats flying around and a cabin out of no where. I walk in and the lights are off but I hear someone in the cabin saying this to himself, "Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas..to me..charlie" Id run and run but There is no way out of the forest and then the guy is chasing me with a axe all bloody. Id run and run but no way out of the forest

    Scary

  • Jesus christ this messed me up

  • DAM! Black Mesa, You freaky!

  • ive heard this many times before but only now i relise that its from half-life 2

  • TO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO HERE THIS SOUNDTRACK IN THE GAME this apperes when dog jumps on the gunship the ul go to the left and u will suppose to go tto the left to take the stairs but if u look in the right you will see for about 1 minute g man and this weird sound in a tv thumbs so that everyone can see!

  • EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear this song I see a dark, deserted street in a town ( like C17). It's snowing a little and it's an inch-layer of the snow on the ground. The snow also covers some rubble lying near the wall of a buildings. The only thing that is light is a streetlamp, casting its yellow light at the ground, the snow and the rubble. Somewhere this old radio song is echoing. Beyond the light from the streetlamp is darkness. The weird thing is, I have no idea where I've seen this before...

  • @timewasteland Thank you

  • @homsarshat Thank you for... what?

  • @timewasteland For that wonderful scene

  • Ya no puedo dormir .__.

  • this video is psychologically calming

  • this was one of the most disturbing part in a video game i have ever played...i just walked in that house and there was this babydoll...and the lift and there was burning that fire....man...it just destroyed my childhood...

  • at the first time it like says gman gman can you hear me?

  • Gman

  • Where in the game is it from ? I like it! I want more!

  • I like this one.I like Gman. He's like Q from Star trek, only creepier and not so retarded :D

  • hahahaha, this is from 28 days later.

  • @sDL4EveRmaRs nope this is from half life 2

  • @sDL4EveRmaRs Nah, This was made for Half Life two and the crew from 28 Days later used it

  • @Bprince2010UK It's actually the other way around. 28 Days Later was made 2002, and Half-Life 2 was made 2004. Just watch my video about it and you'll see.

  • at 0:03 gordon's suit says "Gman Gman can you hear me?"

  • Omg, i feel someone in my room...

  • I shouldnt be listening to this alone in my room at 3:30 in the morning

  • 0:03 Gman? Gman can you here me?

  • My favorite Non-Boss Video Game Music EVER!

  • I still think Gordon is hallucinating this epic fantasy based on the last things he remembers as his consciousness is ripped apart by alien energy fields in the Anomalous materials lab

  • This reminds me of Lustmord's song Black Star. creepy stuff.

  • I personally think Anticitzen One is the creepiest chapter in the game for a few reasons. This song, that creepy baby doll, and most of all, in one part, there is a breencast TV in room with an armchair in it. That might not be creepy to you, but you know those creepy decomposing dead bodies you find in the game? Well one of them was SITTING in that armchair! And that is why I know consider Half Life 2 a psychololgical horror game.

  • @msanimation2 Yes u have a point i feel the same way...

And if i might add it is also creepy that zombie voices backwards are secret messages like help me and that...i found that very disturbing -.-

  • @msanimation2 Originally Half-Life 1 was supposed to be a action horror game akin to F.E.A.R

  • gman on a boat with a seagull :)

  • Chernobyl in the related video that make sence , put a chernobyl video with this and you scare the shit out

  • Am I the only one who finds this calming?

  • @5LINDAAA5 Nah. I've heard worse stuff, but this is some great sound design nonetheless.

    KKS

  • @5LINDAAA5 No, this is awesome. I've listened to this so much that it's not scary anymore, it's just beautiful and calming.

  • @5LINDAAA5 meeee tooooo

  • @5LINDAAA5 But also Uncomfortable

  • @WilipichinXP Ahh, opinions, opinions. ^-^ I fell asleep on this tune. c:

  • @5LINDAAA5 yes.

  • @5LINDAAA5 Nope.avi

I find this scary but calming.

  • Lincolnshire Poacher or Cherry Ripe perhaps.

  • @Peppepoppldoppl not the lincolnshire poacher, but I cant vouch for Cherry Ripe. that one isnt in the 1997 Conet Project

  • @FrameFactoryFlims You've listened the Conet Project?

  • Sounds like a numbers station.

  • Chernobyl in the related videos... I'd rather not.

  • Reminds me of You Are Empty. I didn't notice this song from the game, I only found it through Shattered Memories. The beginning isn't scary, it's only like a distorted distant gramophone.

  • it's cold. like borealis...

  • watch?v=N9o6MgSt55o&feature=related

    Nevermind! Found it!

  • I remember hearing this (it's been years since I last played) when I walked into a room and a TV was playing some cartoon. When you walked into the room, the TV would suddenly turn off along with this music.

Really wish I could remember what level it was from. I'm sure someone knows what I'm talking about haha.

  • What's even more scary is man in the video XD

  • @123raymanfan you mean Gman -_-

  • Both bits of 'music' in this are from a Zero-G sample library called "Altered States", the former is called 'Distorted Trumpet', and the latter is called 'Is that the door' - which has been used in several other places. Hope that helps anyone who wonders where these spooky gems came from :-)

  • omg this is not scary i love this sound

  • Where does this song come out in Half Life 2? Forgot, sorry.

  • @jongyon7192p In Anticitizen One. You can hear it playing in the city. I guess it playes in a radio. Always thought it was weird, but it creates an awesome atmosphere. Like all Half-Life 2 songs.

  • The audio is a sample of a 1978 porn flick.

  • i love this :D i want to know who the fuck the gman is he must be a time traveler but what the fuck is this

  • wyioming incident in half-life

  • Rabic,hes behind you :3

  • sounds like boot camp from hl:opp fource Adrian is that you ? xD

  • Valve - Making interesting, mysterious and scary sounds WAY before Amnesia.

    Half-Life 2 - 2003

    Amnesia - 2010

(I'm not saying Amnesia isn't scary or bad.)

  • "Here's a creepy soundtrack from Half-Life 2. Enjoy!"

How the hell should I enjoy it? D:

  • @ACZebrickWW ahahahahaha xD

  • I have an idea...

  • 0:04 Female vouice speak 5 0 0 5 on Russia

  • Why is chernobil the next video?

  • Thats really creepy makes me think of nazis killing everbody

  • Hmm... Halloween's coming at the end of the month , this could really scare the hell out of people if used right . hehehehe.... .... .... ... .... .... ...

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHH MY EARS!!!!!!!!!

  • your in a dark abandoned house in ravenholm. you dont hear anything except your breathing, you have no weapons or defenses. the cold wind blows into the window and its dark. no sign of life is out there

  • that part of this sound, after 0:13

don't ask me how I found it here /watch?v=JSvjBcDbFHA 16:40

at least we know it deals with number 16. A Mozart's symphony?

  • sounds of the dark past

  • What's happening on russia. 395395704? Probably chuck's phone number.

  • @richardfps123

Path of Borealis is a fan made song.

At 3:16 they have copied this sound file.

It is of no relevance to this song,

  • the music alone gives you a healthy dose of adrenalin. if they used something like this as ambient music in a horror game it would easily get a bit of fear going.

  • dreaming with this music, seeing alma from fear in the dream, waking up when the door of your room is shaking, opening it and having no one there is creepy

  • What's with all you guys seeing "Chernobyl" in the suggestions and freaking out? How is that even related, let alone scary?

  • @Japuteh7 Because in chernobyl you know the nuclear power plant eploded 26 years ago or so... Leaving it like a ghost city with deformed animals infected by the disaster... Leaving this sound like a ''Ghost city'' if you understand what I am meaning (Sorry for my bad english)

  • @MariusNorge Your english is fine, I understand.

Still, it's not all that creepy.

  • @Japuteh7 I think soo! D:

  • OMG Chernobyl & numbers!!...

  • sound like iluminati fuck them!

  • So what? I looked at the chernobyl thing :/

  • Ok I see "Cherobyl" and "3.9.5.3.9.5.7.0.4" in the suggestions, now I'm scared as fuck.

  • Ok, Anyone agrees with me about Cherynobyl?

  • gman gman can you hear me O.o

  • @marceloelperry Uh, it's, "Gordan, gordan can you hear me?" G-Man? Seriously dude?

  • @spawn22222 a si como no!!!

  • On the night of when 2012 is supposed to hit, I will play this so loud the whole neighborhood will hear it.

  • guys, i just realized that this song comes out in the half life 2 theme "path of borealis", link is watch?v=Rc9fvwUbgk4, if you skip the path of borealis video to 3:16, you can here this song

  • @richardfps123 no, that's a remix and it uses this song

  • @richardfps123 Well, its a remixed version. The editor could have put in whatever he wanted for that song.

  • @richardfps123

    Its actually Gman Signalling Gordon

  • @richardfps123 this song is also in 28 weeks later

  • @richardfps123 That is not the Half-Life 2 Official OST Theme. Listen to the HL2 sopng Triage At Dawn. Path of Borealis is a fanmade remix of that song. It even says so in this video with the same song /watch?v=Nc-NajQ6lN8 I'm not meaning to be rude or anything but to just let you and other poeple know

  • Let me tell you what it actually is, as before when I was a huge fan of this game and devoted much of my time into the nooks and crannies of the story. When this clip is reversed, you'll be able to hear G-man laughing, then Alyx's voice, barely audible, but sounding like she's saying "he's dead." The siren like noise is the Aperture Science jingle, quite possibly being used as the air horn of the Borealis. The jingle can be heard in any of Portal 2s investment opportunity intros.

  • When you reverse this track, A woman says "Gordon, Can you hear me?"

  • That Sound File Is Haunting Me!

  • What Is That Sound At The Start?
