  • I did this and I did not notice it was even out yet! Either my dentist are ninjas or it was really like that

  • Does this happen to every one pls answer

  • I had my upper right wisdom tooth removed less than 24 hours ago and it was so quick and painless I couldn't believe it. The tooth was in normal position but had developed a cavity that couldn't be filled and had to be extracted. The dentist had it out in about 60 seconds, there was zero pain (and trust me I'm a baby when it comes to pain - low tolerance) and there is almost no pain today. So never fear. The worst part is the fear because the reality is that it won't hurt like you think.

  • im having my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow...so this was quite informative. no worries, im going to good ppl and this is quite a standard procedure

  • whats the "pressure" like? imm getting 4 adult teeth removed on wednesday and in SOO scared Mostly of the injection and the "pressure" any advise? :) x

  • @sonnydonut18 Needle!? More like a friggin' harpoon.

  • @coalitionist Wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more!

  • There's no PAIN at all, the only problem is the dentist itself.

  • Thanks! You made me feel better about it!!

  • go for the nitrous oxide!

  • Ahh!!! I have to get braces this summer but in order to do so I must have my upper K-9 extracted but I could have sworn I already lost it, lol... AHH im just gonna pull it myself because I HATE shots!!!

  • my daughter is 13 yrs old, she started with her braces since october 2009, ortho doctor told me that since she has a mild crossbite, he 2 lower premolars have to be removed in order to proceed with braces treatment,, its that true?

  • one time my dentist pushed the needle too far and it went into the muscle...

I heard and felt this painful crunch, and the needle wound was sore for like a week afterwards...

all that for a filled tooth :)

  • omg...i'm SO scared...I'm getting

2 permanent teeth pulled and i'm sooooo nervous!

  • @MegzNoelzProductionz don't worry, i had seven pulled over the course of a year, all it is is the novicane, then they just pull on them with dental pliers, you just feel some pressure and are numb for like two hours afterwards. get a milkshake and itll be ok :)

  • you can also feel the taste of blood

  • I got my Tooth Extracted 2 days ago and i still have the numbing sensation, the throbbing and stitches aren't that bad but not being able to eat something good is not fun.

  • my injection lasted half a second and i was fine during the procedure

  • Ahh omggg I felt the injections on my jaww bone and it was agony at 1 point I thought the injection went through my bottom lip:0 and when the injections touched my roots he wiggled the piece of crap around :0 and afterwards I got like a small tunnel thing in my mouth and had the feeling of the injection for about 2 days . I thought it would be easy coz I had it done before and I hardly felt the injection but the root snapped off and he just left it lool ohhhh welll all over now =]

  • The needle is obviously and definitely the worst part. If that is what you are scared of, you can try closing your eyes, because seeing it is half the horror. You could probably even close your eyes the whole procedure if you're that fearful.

  • Dentists will generally numb the area ? is there ever a time they don't ? LOL

  • I know! lol and she forgot to mention that the numbing is a shot in your mouth!

  • This morning, had my tooth extracted. First, 3 injections. Later, pain in tooth, another 3 injections. Pain somewhat remained. Two more injections, one near gum, one DIRECTLY in the the nerve in the cavity of my molar. That shot was so horrible I kinda grunted and yelled. After that, tooth extraction was a breeze and it did not hurt very much ( Cause of 8 injections) All in all,the needles are the worst part. If you have large cavity, might expect injection directly into exposed nerve in cavity.

  • The only prize you get for getting your tooth extracted is all the ice-cream. I ate a lot of ice-cream because i got 4 teeth removed in 2 weeks (1 every 3 days)because i need braces. Also what i found disturbing while getting my teeth pulled out was that cracking sound....but it doesnt hurt but i did bleed for hours.

  • what i didn't expect was a newly qualified dentist who took half an hour to pull one tooth and cut my gum twice "accidently." use 4 differant tools and call someone in to hold me down! . and she wanted to take two more!! .i will never go again after that.

  • I wish they extracted my 4 teeth like this when i had to get my braces. all they did was numb, and then pull and twist pull and twist. WORST THING EVER!!

  • having a tooth out is pretty easy well my dentist is good she explains wats gunna happen and wat u should feel the injection its elf may hurt depending on the location of the suringe but its just a sharp pain for about a second or two then after that u dont feel it the is a lot of pressure when she uses the elvators but no pain what so ever the onli thing u should hear is like a crunch or crackling noise its more discomfort but trust me there is no pain so dont be worried at all

  • I got 4 extracted a couple of months ago for braces. All you feel is little pinch while the numb you. Then while the dentist pulls it feels like pressure. im 14

plus i got other teeth extracted before too since they wouldn't come out :)

  • ya i have a tooth that is like well the baby wont come loose and the permant is coming in crooked in thro the gum but my dentist said that the permant wil go in the correct place and i wont need braces thank goodness for that,,,do u have any tips for me since its my first time ever having any dental work done????pzl

  • I have a back molar out today...i was dreading having it done.

The injection was painless and the procedure was stupidly easy. Lots of pressure and disturbing cracking noises but it was perfectly ok.

    NO pain what so ever.

    :)

  • @goddenbi

    So it didnt hurt?

Im getting my molar pulled on wednesday :(

    How old are u?

  • @MelodeexD i got my tooth pulled last year when i was twelve- i actually had to ask them if they took it out lol it doesn't hurt at all

  • Glad you had no problem with your extraction. I too had a back molar removed yesterday, but unfortunately it was so stubborn it took the dentist an hour and 15 minutes of tucking, hacking and cutting to get it out and then it was a root at a time. I'm not normally nervous of the dentist but by the end of this is so soaked through with sweat and shaking like a leaf. Oh and my jaw aches likes hell today.

  • I am phobic of dentists but I just had my tooth taken out with only novacaine, breathing exercises, and a great dentist who was very patient. I've posted my video as a response...

  • yup,it really isnt that bad :)

  • I just had a tooth extracted 35 minutes ago, and let me say, it was the most pain i have ever felt and the most painfull experience i have ever gone through in my life. It felt like my skull was being snapped with pilers. it was so painfull i literally had tears running down my face.

my tongue is now so numb and my throat feels so out of sorts. thank god it is out.

  • Well i had 4 teeth taken out in the same day that ment 8 injections and either your dentist is crap or i have a very high pain tolerence but it so didnt hurt just a scratch feeling for injection and that was it... sooo i you are haviong a tooth it it dosent hurt....

  • Was there an infection in the tooth they extracted? I had the same thing done yesterday & since there was still an infection, it was pretty painful after the numbness wore off. Ice packs work the best. They prescribed 3 Valium for me to take before the extraction & 2 more tablets once I was actually at the dentist. They also used laughing gas so I really didn't care what was going on. Today, I still feel the shots, and general pain where he tugged at my teeth but that's what the Vicodin is for.

  • Thanks! You made me feel better about it!!

    I'm getting 2 teeth pulled tomorrow...but i will expect pressure. =)

my dentist said not to stress over it and it will be done in like 5 minutes and i wont even feel it...but i don't know if he ment that for real or he was just trying to comfort me...

  • i need 2 extractions soon, that video has made me feel better, nicely explained..

  • Bring an iPod!

  • So if people really want to know how we extract teeth:

    1) Get you numb

    2) Reflect the gum from around your tooth

    3) Wiggle the tooth with an instrument called an elevator. Looks like a flat head screwdriver.

    4) Deliver the tooth with forceps and pray a root tip does not break off, in which case we will have to use more invasive techniques.

  • hahahha, just pray for your dentist's steady hands, and try to schedule it at the doc's peak of coffee (they all drink coffee) intake, not later on when he's going to have the wiggles.
