  • this is sweet!! i so sick of ylod definitely going to do this.

how did u attach the p4 heatsinks to the mobo?

  • "1 x extended ribbon for blue ray drive"

Great Work ! i'm trying ton do a gamestation Xbox 360 and PS3 in the same box

Where can i Buy it ?

    i need One !

  • Hey Gilksy, what PSU did you use for your ps3?

  • can i buy this case in USA?

  • I have all the bits i need but, unsure of the cpu sinks n fans? what socket old pentium sinks do i need? btw g.r.e.a.t. mod :) I have my eject n power touch buttons on the drive flap :)

  • Wen it powered i saw an intel logo next to PS3 logo

lol i think you will find thats a gilksy inside logo

  • @gilksy1 so i want to put my ps3 into a PC box because i have had my 6th YLOD and i need an advice to prevent it.I have been fixing it with your technique thx btw, hope you can help me

  • Very well done, How did you move the touch sensitive buttons?

  • ty for sharing this! /cheer

Gonna do this with my damaged 40gb ( Know how to fix ) Get a new power supply and a new HDD ---> Makes it to a new PS3 :D

  • Man excellent... Humanity needs you...!

  • where did u get the extension ribbons and cables

  • can someone tell me the dimensions of a ps3 motherboard?

  • @Apieslapie1 middle ATX would be fine...!

  • beautiful!!

  • How did you attach the CPU fans?

I can imagine the nice fit of Pentium 4 heatsinks but to secure them tightly is sort of baffling me. It seems like you can utilize the 2 existing holes from the PS3 clamps but there should be some sort of support and protection underneath right?

  • Couple questions to help us all out

Can you define the flat ribbon cables used in the PS3? They seem like they are standard and can be acquired at a computer shop, but just to be certain can you list out the cable sizes (I'm sure they are defined by # of connectors and also gauge).

How do you wire for standby? From what I gather from other sources Standby is not really an option when you do this

Why such a high wattage power supply? PS3 only uses 380W at most and actual power usage is less

  • very impressive, good work bro. Keep it up, hopefully other people are still showing such enthusiasm for their ps3s. This has inspired me, i'll be uploading my own case mod soon enough.

  • Great job! I've thought about doing something like this, how much did it cost you?

  • mate aver am Spanish and I would like to do what you've done PC PS3 but as in the video do not understand your language I would like to explain it with more concrete images that look like they go the tow, fans, Push Buttons, and exit of the disc, etc. .. man would be too much to ask to see a step by step video, I agradeseria a lot, I have the 80GB disassembled and I'd like to do that but I lack pictures, well thank you very much anyway, greetings.

  • awesome videos. thank you, i'm about to attempt to reflux my ps3. i am considering aftermarket heatsinks. i keep seeing pentium 4 heatsinks being used. is that because they are the only ones that fit? thanks for the help!

  • How did you exactly wire an ATX PSU to the motherboard?

  • i lovee you maaaan ;D

  • Great but you give no details on the mods like hooking up the atx power supply to the ps3 motherboard, mounting the motherboard to the case, etc. This video really isn't very useful or informative. I'm sure I can find the info elsewhere but if you post a video like this, you should be willing to give out the details. It's a nice mod but the lack of info is not good.

  • how did you attatch the ps3's motherboard to the pc case?

  • Comment removed

  • Wow they should have had you design the PS3. Out of all the PS3 mods i've seen, this is the best hands down. I know the whole process would be hard to make a video of, but i'd love to see a video of you preparing the guts of a PS3 to be stuck in a custom case =D.

  • how did you extend the usb cables?

    great job btw!. its beautiful!

  • @jraymond561

pc front panel usb to standard pc molex connector then dual rwo header hardwired to usb plug and plugged straight into molex connector

  • why not start selling a fix it your self kit meaning u get the case and the atx but u fit your own ps3 board this is an ace idea i was thinking of doing this but with a drive with the ps3 and microsoft windows system it look great

  • Gilksy.. Your Design is MONEY! I would NOT be surprised if you see Sony try and come out with a similar design.. Like PS3 MAX or something.. in an identical PS case. My friend and I just BOTH just said we would buy one. You better patent your PS3 Mod case NOW!!!

    Great Job !!!!!

  • that is so fly!

  • Well done mate, great mod!

  • Excellent work. What case is that?

  • are you going to make a step by step video?? I still have a PS3 with the light of death around the house I would defenetly like to fix it up!

  • @gilksy1 That is SIIIICK mate - I WANT 1 - also , how did u get the flashing ps button on ur controller

  • I'm guessing you had to modify the wiring and install new plugs for it to work? I'm not quite sure how you hooked up the power supply that's all. :)

  • very good... but can list component usage?

  • Excellent work gilksy! How did you manage to wire up a standard ATX power supply to work with the PS3 motherboard?? :S

  • @thesim1990

all you need is +12volt Ground then +5 volt and more grounds

    its easy

  • I don't now how much to ofer you m8 let me now what you want for it and I'll see you on pay pal if that's ok

  • This is awesome! I after my 3rd ylod, I took the 60gb hard drive out and formatted it to be a fat32 portable drive. Now that I've seen this, how do I put the PS3 software back on the drive so that I can try this setup?

  • Nice work Gilksy!!! I trust your design way more than that of those ps3 slims... I would really like to know how much it cost in material to do this set up... I fixed my PS3 YLOD over 10 times now... so changing the setup to help keep it cool is something I am considering also...

  • very nice work but when u take the disc out it looks like that little flap would scratch the disc ??

  • you need to get it patented .

  • Your controller PS button changes blue . Green ect.....

  • What can i say apart from HOW MUCH BRO ;-) thumbs up.

  • Bro big up your self , I fix my 60g 2 times 1 year ov play I got out ov it , dis video shows the next way forward , how much to make me one and a controller ?

  • @renique352

lol yea its a bit tricky havnt got around to putting a handle on it yet lol

  • @gilksy1 If i heard correctly you re laced the GPU on the ps3 motherboard? Also with this pc hacked what are the odds you'll get the YLOD on it? Also please can you do a tutorial on this? Your the only person i trust when it comes to doing technical stuff like this and please post where you brought the parts and what case is that?

  • @gilksy1 amazed that you arent employed by sony......

  • how did you put the "gilksy inside" logo next to the ps3 logo when it started up?

  • @videomasters2468

    i modded the cold boot!!!

  • @gilksy1 how? can you do a tutorial?

  • @videomasters2468

no need m8 there are cold boo tutorials on you tube

  • Epic. I've been coming up with all sorts of wacky ideas to keep a ps3 cool, I've even considered replacing the fan with a freon cooling system like you find inn an air conditioner or a refrigerator. I'm truly amazed at how practical and effective this is. I'm going to attempt to do this to a reflowed 60 gig and marathon on it. If it lasts a year being played at least 5 hrs. a day and some days 16 hrs. then maybe this will be the new way to save 60's.

  • thats immense - Gilksy will soon be a massive name worldwide!

  • Can u make a tutorial ?

  • OMFG

    =O thats amazing

  • You the man!

  • Respect.
