to compare LARA with CELINE you have first to know LARA's music, not one or two songs, when you listen REQUIEN POUR UN FOU, Je suis Malade, A piece of Sky, Broken Vow, For Always, You are not from here, Le roi est une femme... and many others then you'll know that CELINE is too little to face LARA's voice, Lara's passion and Lara's temperament, Celine is a piece of Ice, no feelings singing... it is my point of view!

that is you opinion, I have (also) almost all her collection and I can tell you that if CELINE wold be sure that she that SUPERIOR voice as you think, she wouldn't ignore that much LARA's work, CELINE knows very well her weak point in high notes, her weak point in expresing feelings (temperament) while she sings, but, I won't convince you, you love CELINE, ok, I do love LARA and I admire CELINE but if you just listen LARA's CDs you discover very fast the greatness & th perfection of her voice!

I have always hate fanatism, Barbra's Fans are completely out of reality, when I kisten LARA's voice, yes, I do compare her with Barbra, but in the end of the road, Lara is more TEMPERAMENT, more high, almost perfect, Barbra (I do love her, too!) Lara is a wonderful singer/actoress...but to compare her with barbara is quite wrong. They have very different goals..Lara clearly sees the 'papa' song as more of a pick myself up and i'm gonna take on the world kinda song. barabara (approaching it as actoress singer AND director) is showing the vulnerability and trepidation of Yentl..she IS holding back something.
