  • Phillip looks a little bit like Corey Haim to me.

  • Second Life sucks. Linden Labs owes me a personal apology. Phil cant find his own ass with a map and someone holding his hand to guide him.

  • @Warrwench SL is too complicated and sophisticated for most people who prefer spoon fed fun and things that are dumbed down to the point where a 5 year old can play.

  • @HikaruYamamoto nice to see one of the labs' employees posting on here. that's more than i gave ye all credit for. you all still suck though.

  • Hi is just so hot.... :) Dreamy.

  • He looks nothing like his avatar!!!

  • I laughed at everyone who kept IMing him.

  • How he can pick object and throw etc in phys mode?

  • If you ignore the LAG, crappy customer service, TP problems, crashy sim crossings and more crappy stuf it's been dealing with for the past 7 years.....SL is a wonderful place i guess, no matter what computer you have.

SL will become obsolete in time if they don't act now. Others are getting better and they will take over.

  • @Delveaux Lag will happen in every game it just happens with streaming media. I've never had a problem with customer service. Rarely any teleporting problems, crashy sim crossings is mainly cause of your crashy connection, and the more crappy stuff i'm assuming is just your way of "adding" to things to make it seem worse with no real reason other than to make people not want to use it.

  • i hope people dont forget their real life while using second life.... and i also hope this 'game' doesn't take over peoples real lives. the real world would SUCK

  • excellent work!

  • I often surf on Second Life like a freelance fotographer. well....I think SECOND LIFE would be a great place to get new ideas to improve real life: taking ideas from landscapes, from clothes, from building, from islands. It's a great point to get NEW IDEAS!

  • @EnricoGiampi Hmmm wonder if we can ever acomplish teleporting:)

  • Finally this game works on my pc god.. I had to buy a new pc and it runs so smoothly lmao.. but only problem is i suck at customizing my toon how do i make my toon look really good

  • @TalentlessNoob is you still havent problems creating a better looking toon if so give me your SL name

  • toon as in avatar? second life calls her toons avatars hehe anyway if ya still need help send me a msg in youtube and ill be happy to help you out in world

  • thank you

  • Ive been building from 2006, but I never new could pick up a item and throw it, did he just quickly click edit or was there a script...

  • @IndieGameWatch not in edit mode. hold down control then left-click the object to grab it....hold control down while holding left click...and you can toss a prim.

  • The Island where Philip was, was called "Svarga" one of the best places in SL there were lot of 'organic' things like insects, birds, plants, spores that interact each other. Too bad it had to be sold.

  • I love secondlife , in secondlife your imagination is your limit , only have some

hardware problems , my ATI HD 4870 dont

your in sl whith the last drivers from ati

  • I had the same problem with my HD4760. i ended up switching back to my old card. could be that youre powersource has to low wattage (w)

  • no i have one 800E powersource and the grafic card works fine whith all the recent games , i only have problems whith seconlife

  • Hmm... very WIERD XD

  • jajajajaj xD

  • Goddamn Lindens own every goddamn thing in Second Life.

  • I agree, second Life is a fantastic tool for marketing and creation. The lag issues hold this virtual world back from being the best ever created. It really doesnt matter how good your pc is. you can drive vehicles through the roads, watch other avatars walk through or fall through objects. Its a weak server that needs to be fixed. Linden Labs, you should know better than putting something that weak on the market. The world is broken.

  • Second life is a very intelligent tool to utilize for many business models.

It's in it's infancy but it's exploding. Be prepared it could be yr platform so don't chuckle to soon.

It';s not a joke or a program or game as they proclaim now, it has been exposed to you in that way.But It's more a training ground for corporations like engineering grps, medical grps of all sorts and so much more. With all that said think about the audience it will reach World Wide. The applications r endless.

  • I do not have to spend a dime now if i don't want to just from the education I have learned on my own and I can also apply what i have learned either for a job in many areas. there is an endless application to this conception.

I know many others view this as an adult sight & I see that but that's all about life correct? Well as in real life direct yourself towards what is most productive & u will succeed in most cases. Lets hope it all improves. It's still an infant in my terms.

  • If you need advice on Second Life object DE-struction, look me up :D

  • OH YEAH, NICE SUPER COMPUTER WITH A 50mb per second INTERNET, I MEAN WTF, IT LOOKS LIKE THE BEST GAME IN THEIR ALIENWARE, BUT IN ANY OTHER COMPUTER IT IS SO FUCKING CRAPPY, MY DUAL CORE WITH NVIDIA 8600 AND 300kb per second and the game is SO FUCKING LAGGY, %90 OF THAT GAME IS MADE BY PLAYERS, SO YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THEIR CREATED FILES FOR 5+ MINUTES EVERYTIME U GO TO A NEW PLACE

  • That might be the biggest problem

  • I agree, having spent 10 years in computer architecture I am just amazed at the complete lack of optimization and caching. Home PCs have several hundreds of gigabytes of hard drive storage yet region caching is highly underutilized. Never mind the massive issues with keeping everything in a "design time" state. My client crashes constantly and the rendering is a joke. Can't wait until somebody buys them out and kicks out the CTO.

  • thats your connection not your computer

  • Alienware huh? Yeah, I could tell by the apple logo they are so popular for. ;)

  • Yea that is a big problem... Hopefully they are gonna fix that. It's really stupid actually, can't even enjoy the game without Lag.

  • Totaly agree. Unless you have a high end pc with a high end graphic card its pretty laggy, hell SL is known for eating/toasting graphic cards!

Besides that the way LL runs SL...as in persistently not listening to the paying members, constantly giving them the finger. SL is on a dead end. I mean there are sooo many issues with SL. Just check the Jira, thouzands of bugs to fixed and improvements to be made.

  • I want to agree on that comment but on the other hand I can't. Look @ what is being demonstrated to you here. Remarkable right? Yes! I could have all kinds of reasons to call it crap ? Yes but i'm not. Just because its all still in development. People do not understand the whole concept and that's ok.but most importantly for me is I love it.

  • Ok my comment was a bit harsh i guess. Dont get me wrong I love SL. Its a great place for my creativity. I just think they are focusing on the wrong improvements to much. A lot of residents including myself feels/thinks that they (their voices and opinions) are considered as a neucance to LL and a disturbance to the LL 'vision'. Sometimes they throw us a cookie sure, but mostly they just want our money True or not, thats how a lot of residents feel that have been around in SL for +2 year.

  • -_- someone hacked me and im having problems logging on secondlife..bla -_-

  • wow this is an old comment luls.

  • Philip Rosedale He cant say secondlife ! it is the 8th art .There are seven arts all we know, poetry, painting, music, theater, singing and photography and cinema .. And there Arts subsidiary graduated from, but not such a major like seven arts. Can there be 8th art ?if the answer is YES, what do you think it is ? , Or what could be?And if the answer is NO, so why?

  • There are thousands of educators, librarians, entrepreneurs, scholars, musicians, poets, writers, shoppers, thousands of inspiring teens in the Teen Grid.. and everything else that you'll find in everyday life. As in everyday life, we can choose to avoid and not frequent certain places or services.. it's the same in Second Life. Just hang out in the PG areas.

  • to many sexual places -_-"

when u go somewhere theres sex

they better put notes on that places as a warning

    there is

  • So don't go to these places. Every town, city and village on earth has hookers. Don't walk down those streets.

  • Hot guy... terrible computer graphics. Very dated compared to what is available these days.

  • lol - u try sending down all the information about the world at real time to every user with minimum or no delay. - I mean "everything" - including even the terrain - bcoz everything is modifiable in second life

  • Second Life is always evolving :) the graphics will grow better with time. I've been a resident for over 4 years. I've watched it grow and things are waaaaay better now than when i started.

  • Fair enough, but really - when you look at graphics in WOW, LOTR, Sims etc... these just seem so very ancient. But each to their own. As long as people are having fun!

  • yeah they do look better. but you download all that content onto your computer. Second Life streams all the content live to you when you enter a sim. That way we can create and change things.

  • But unlike WOW for instance where that truly is a fantasy world, this seems like my real life, only it's less than the real experience. I travel and own a house etc. Maybe you need to tell me more about the novelty of why I should 'play' this. I'm open to new experiences.

  • The most popular places are clubs, casinos, and malls. When you sell something, you make L$ and L$ can be changed to real money. You will see things in second life that you cannot see anywhere else. In sandboxes you are free to create anything you want and it gets wiped every few hours. There are places where you can shoot and "kill" other people.

  • You can create your own games within SL. When Tringo was created, it became so popular, someone bought it for over USD$30,000. There are themed sims, roleplayers, RPGs, everything you can imagine. Sculpted prims are now being tested. When those come out things are going to get more organic.

  • medieval fantasy RPs. ride dragons. complete quests. it's actually fun. :)

  • @HikaruYamamoto

I been in sl for 3yrs and love it! Despite all the faults

  • @SakuraAvalonBleac25 Its only going to get better. Many people fail to realize that SL evolves. Mesh is going to come out soon. There will always be bugs because thats just its nature. Games with the least amount of bugs are only less buggy because they are so straight forward and doesn't ever change except for a content update which mean just more items and things to kill usually.

  • @HikaruYamamoto

    Indeed :3

  • @HikaruYamamoto this LOSER, PATHETIC and is going to be going through MANY, MANY lawsuites soon, sl owner can't even come up with GOOD customer service!!! if you are thinking about joining sl, DON"T! get this, you have to pay EXTRA to become premium for them to even help you!! the only way they will help you is with billing because they obviously want your money! but if you have issues in sl with ANYTHING else, they won't answer your emails and forget calling them. they tell u to figure it out

  • Impressed!

  • The way he talks is charming, rare for a computer genius

  • ...computer genius

  • HEYA!

  • XD OMG HEYA TONY

  • Sweet, I play this as TonyH Wrangler in TSL, wonderful program.
