@findvoltage The school board doesn't have the money to replace coils just because they have a bad spot in the coil. You'd be surprised what we have to do to keep a 30 year old unit running.
Is that your wife at the beginning? Damn, I didn't know she looked like that during the day time. Every time I sneek over there at night I can hardly see her face. I like her big tits though!
I feel ya on the budget crunch right now, I have had to do a few band-aid jobs myself..Gotta do watchya gotta do...Gread vids DrZ! Please keep them coming.
That condenser looks like it's in rough shape but heck as long as you are getting reasonable subcooling you have nothing to worry about.
Remember that bashed up Lennox condensing unit I showed in one of my vids. Well I spent about 3 hour's straightening the fins on that condenser and blew her out with some nitrogen and coil cleaner and she's getting adaquate subcooling now :)
I couldn't install plates to cover these holes. There's still another coil in back of the damaged section. Thanks for the idea in the event anyone is faced with an air gap.
Im kind of new in this trade, my instructor never thought us how to use those nitrogen tanks and adding a trace of refrigerant to find leaks with a leak detector. Could you please explain the use of nitrogen and pressure regulators in finding leaks? How much should you add?
I usually don't need to add a trace amount of refrigerant to find a leak. I just put in about 120 PSIG of nitrogen. I have good hearing and can hear the leak hiss. If I have to use my electronic leak detector then it must be a really slow leak.
youre welcome alot of users who are like you and i from the day and are used to the old crt monators whare you could press on em for ever with no harm dont relise how fragile the LCD is.
what i suggest you do is get a lint free cloth from youre local pc store and some static free monator cleaner spray and spray the rag then carefully clean the screen .
i use just enuf pressure to keep the rag aginst the screen the cloth will do the work for you.
I recommended to replace the condensing unit when the compressor died. I was told to buy a new compressor. Believe it or not, I don't mind. It's sometimes fun to resurrect the dead time and time again.
that tube work requires patiants of a saint, i dont know how i woulda went on it.

Nice Job. That's a lot of work and most guys wouldn't even attempt it. Good work.

How did you sweat the coil without toasting the fins on the inside coil? I need a new torch.............

The school board is in the middle of a budget crunch. I'm just glad to have a job with them right now. I'll fix any POS to keep working.

we install a plate over the hole to improve performance after making this type of repair.
with no fins the air rushes to the point of least restriction. the plate works. your pal in jail (working) mike

becarefull when you touch a LCD screen you can scratch it or damage the display very easly.
iuse a glass anti glare guard to prevent such damage:)
