Please let me say one more thing: in the pop music there are many comparisons. If i had to compare you, ok, i know not all the great pianists, i would say you´re playing like the superior Daniel Barenboim. I love his wonderful touch and playing and his musicality. And i think this comparison is not a shame. I heard Barenboim and LangLang together for an encore and I knew:between the two are worlds. Barenboim played after LangLang his first note and it was stunning. You are so stunning too!
Thank you so much for all of your incredible compliments, especially those regarding my touch! Your comparison of me to Daniel Barenboim is greatly appreciated as well. Finally, thank you for all of your continuing suport of me, and I hope to have some new videos up very soon!
@tbkurz I know that he has much more experience and routine than you and you need a little more time but your playing, your sound and your kind to play are very similar. I felt a bit sad and so i heard your Rachmaninoff here and the Prel in C. I can hear that you like this composer. It is a shame that you'll probably never achieve the fame of a Greyson. But this is surely not your will. You are on my channel now and I´m so in love with your sound and playing. All the best with a little hug from me.
Thank you again for your wonderful compliments! Your continuing support of me is great and I really appreciate it. I hope to have a new video up very soon, so stay tuned!
@Chrisy299 Ahh, Chrisy299, fame is NOT for those who seek it and lust after it...but instead will belong to those who forsake it, and entrust themselves to the luscious beauty of the music herself. Find the love inside the music...that is much more powerful than fame. The music does not serve us, those who play....we serve the music.
@Chrisy299 Barenboim, while hugely talented, never shied away from directing attention to himself and away from what he was playing. He was a flashy pianist with a know-it-all attitude. This recording by Aaron is the opposite: an obvious humility always present, even when the music requires power and strength - which Aaron has in abundance.
It troubles me that this awe-inspiring recording still stands as Aaron's crowning achievement. Please, Aaron, give us more of this calibre :)
After hearing this wonderful videos, for me is Aaron on of the greatest pianists i´ve ever heard in all my time as musician. The interpretation, the touch on the piano keys, it is such a impressive Feeling to see and to hear him.
Somehow, this video escaped me... but better late than never. I was never a huge fan of Rachmaninov, but Aaron's performance is beyond beautiful. What I really like here is the total lack of forced 'feeling'. The music flows naturally and convincingly. Very rarely does one find such musicianship backed up by strong technique with the very young. I am going to follow this career - in my view, there hasn't been anything this exciting for decades. Thanks a lot for posting this.
Thanks so much for your wonderful compliments regarding my interpretation of this piece! Encouragement like yours is very helpful when I'm struggling with something, so all of your kind words are greatly appreciated. Thank you for watching my videos and always taking the time to comment!
Dozens of hours on that piece are an investment that is worth a lifetime. You are building your repertoire, your mastery, and your inspiration. I have been teaching piano for nearly 30 years, and have heard many, many wonderful students/musicians perform. You truly have a gift, and I wish only the best for you!
Thank you so much for your compliments regarding my interpretation! I really appreciate it as it took me dozens of hours to master it. Thanks for watching!
Asblolutely great! And better: you are an artist, not a circus man as other young pianists. You really will be a great, great pianist! Please never quit. World needs people like you.
It is my pleasure to watch your videos, Aaron. The piano/recorded sound is magnificent. The hard work you put into nuance and voicing has really paid off. ... Gerard
This was absolutely heartbreaking. You channeled Rachmaninoff and really ripped my heart out! So lyrical and so mature - for someone of any age! This was breathtakingly beautiful, thank you so much for this. I shall use this if I ever need to calm down and relax - or even learn how to better my lyrical singing tone. Thanks again - beautiful. You deserve the best concert halls and orchestras out there - maybe you could do the Rach 2 with that gorgeous lyrical tone! Either way I'm a fan.
Thank you so much for all of your amazing compliments regarding my performance of the Rachmaninoff! I really appreciate it. I'd love to do the Rachmaninoff No. 2, but my teacher said it is too hard for me currently. Thanks for watching my video!
I've been dying to learn Rachmaninoff No. 3, but my teacher says it's too hard. Hopefully, I'll get it after I finish the concerto I'm currently working on (Prokofieff No. 3). I have never played with an orchestra (however, I've been scheduled to), but there's a lot of concerto competitions in the coming months, and if I win certain ones, I'll play with an orchestra.
@tbkurz :) isn't Rach 3 awesome... yup I'm 13 too doing Tchaikovsky 1 right now.. I'm hoping it'll be my next concerto too. Good luck. Nice playing, btw.
Congratulations on a superb performance! Your interpretation was sublime and the polyphonic part was well achieved. I find quite fascinating the Rachmaninoff's harmonies. My favorite piece of Rachmaninoff is the Symphonic Dances.
Thanks for sharing your music.
¡Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo 2010! Que sigan los éxitos...
Thank you so much for your amazing compliments! I'm glad you liked the harmonies, as I worked on those for a very long. I appreciate your kind words and support.
I'm so in-love with your music..
