@timelesskoontah I (like tens of millions) don't believe in God. Atheism is a natural part of human evolution.
Most people lose their God delusions by the time they learn to tie their shoes. Others take longer. It is quite likely that you will laugh at what you're writing today in a few more years (or sooner?).
There is no law to stop you from believing in fairy tales. There is also no law to make me go back to the nonsense I once bought into. Is that OK with you? Thanks.

Was Jesus illiterate? There is no evidence that he even knew how to read and write. Where in the Bible does it ever speak of Jesus WRITING something? All He is ever quoted saying is "it is written", which means "believe me". Sorry, no EVIDENCE other than "believe me when I say it's true".
The good news is that there is no bad news. We all die and stay dead. There is plenty of evidence for THAT! All wishful thinking, hopes and faith add to NOTHING. You're free to blindly believe. Enjoy!

@SynchroTotal It says so right in the beginning of the Gospels. He grew up as a boy and studied in the Synagogues. He read the Scriptures--how else do you think He quoted them continuously?

You don't believe any of the lies told by the 98% OTHER religions/ denominations out there, so why are you so upset I don't believe the 2% of lies YOU are selling as "gospel"? I don't believe in ghosts or in magic - NONE of it! Is that a problem for you? Why? I'm not upset that YOU wander in La La Land, that's your business. Why does it bother you that I simply don't believe in man made boogie woogie?

There is a quick fix to all of this bullshit: TAX CHURCHES! Hit them where they live and breathe, and you'll see how fast they will embrace separation of church and state, never again wanting to meddle in private affairs of law abiding citizens.
The most important thing to evangelical preachers is MONEY. The more they can get, the happier they are. Take out Uncle Sam's fair share in taxes, and the holy men will cry bloody murder. Try it and see. MONEY is their God!

The people who wrote the constitution were Christians, they weren't thinking ahead to realize that there would people moving to America with other belief systems. That's why they left room to change by having a judicial system and ways to change the law. Unfortunately, more liberal and non-Christ followers have been elected into the system and our once Christian country is not Christian anymore.

The conservatives shove christianity down our throats notwithstanding the Judeo-Christian foundations on which the country was founded, but I think Christianity had less to do with the founding than people like to say. Interesting discussion.
