pretty good effort, i could see something like that working, i liked the red universal intro. However in the spirit of creative criticism and opinion I do think that 1) it would just be simply called Red Dwarf. 2) Doug Naylor SHOULD NOT direct and 3) Chloe Annett SHOULD NOT be involved. atleast not in any huge capacity.

If a movie was made IMO it should act a bit like an 'origin'.. a new story;

I would take aspects of the series such as Lister emerging from stasis 3million years later but I would form a new story, within the ideas of RD. I'd make Simulants the villains. They would come across Lister, the last human, and it would be about them trying to kill him.

It should go back to the humour and parody of the series. The Back to Earth special was utterly dire... A movie should not be anything like it.

I personally feel a more slowed down version of the original red dwarf theme would work better...I'll have to look into making a version of it :P LOVE the graphics though, would have been funny to see it go off like in star trek :P

And, Tripp1993, the titles listed Lovett immediately after Annett. It mentioned Hayridge as "Hilly", as in the female-universe version of Holly from episode 12. As for the Universal logo, who knows?

i think the writers felt they couldnt give her enough to do in the show so she was written out when they lost red dwarf in the 6th n 7th seasons. but got lovett back for 8 when they rediscovered red dwarf

Dwarf is notorious for taking an age to package.

Well the BBC and the UK Film Commission gave some bogus claim that Red Dwarf was not the direction they wanted to go, or some such nonesense. American film companies don't think a comedic sci-fi, more prevalent in the UK, appeals to American audiences and really? If they did adapt it to the USA, you know it would include a less sophistication. But, who knows? Maybe with recent hits of UK adapted shows (The Office) it may have a chance. Cross our fingers, eh?

the delay is that the bbc wont fund either the movie or series 9.but it will fund the shite that is on tv at the mo which is no where near as good as the boys from the dwarf

We the fans of RD have been waiting for the official movie, seemingly longer than Lister was in stasis (for you non-fans, that's 3 million years).

What is the latest delay?! It's just a thought but you may want to move forward while the original cast members are still breathing.

Well there is a huge problem, apparently craig charles (lister) was cought using illegal drugs and the bbc wont hire him for anything (which is why he is now on ITV) meaning that they probably wont make the film because they cant get craig charles.

I think it all just comes down to money.

Chances are, even with a global fan base, the RD movie wouldn't make much more than its budget at best (even Craig Charles has admitted that as a TV series, Red Dwarf is 'a very curious, English thing').

I reckon, Doug Naylor should just go ahead with the much-rumoured stage show, or try to convince Rob Grant and the Beeb to come back for one, last TV-Movie/finale. Let the Boyz from The Dwarf go out with some style ;-)

This is really good, but like other people, the real red dwarf music should of been played, imagine getting into your seat, withyour popcorn then the red dwarf theme plays, you'd just get this exitement building up. please be a movie!

Using the original Galactica score is tad distracting, try to find something a bit more appropriate. But OH how i want a RedDwarf Film, but I'm afraid they will shag it up royally alla Hitchhikers Guide which was 50% good and 50% bad. Nice work!!

Holy smeg...That was fantastic!!! Only problem was the actual title--should you really use the RD logo? and 'The Movie'...makes it sound like an adaptation of a breakfast cereal y'know...But that was terrific! I love that music!!! (Though I'm a little disappointed that Hattie Heyridge only gort billed as Hilly. I only ever saw Holly as a female and I think she's better that way. At least then you could start a relationship without feeling weird, (dead of space...remember?)
