I'm interested in Nichiren Buddhism. I read a book about the religion, but I don't chant that much, if at all. How many times do I chant a day? Can I chant anytime I want for a certain amount of minutes? I need to learn more!

And both the SGI and NSA state that the three poms are to go on the right and two on the left, with the center of the beads twisted in a figure eight, like the infinity symbol. When you hold the middle pom on the three sided side up in the air, you'll notice it forms a human body.
Google Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. Daimoku. SGI. and go from there.
I noticed it too but so what? Alex has oodles of sincerity, warmth + quiet humour; and that is what he is using his voice + life for - to share this wonderful philosophy + practice with others. "We work for the Gohonzon - the Gohonzon works for us!"

Chanting made the teacher disappear! I could imagine that in a Roald Dahl story :) But you're right, Alex. You have to chant honestly for what you really want, whether it is "good" or not. That's the only way to tap the full power of the Gohonzon. Buddhism teaches that "earthly desires are enlightenment". You are proving this in your own life. Well done!
