  • All but maybe 2 (and of course, the girl), appear reasonably Caucasoid. Modern Iran appears to be at the end of a genetic (and hence, racial) continuum, that begins from Western Europe. However, this holds relevance if we consider the 'average' genetic value. Iran is quite heterogeneous, and surely, recent Non-Caucasoid admixture, is present through many bloodlines. There are relatively pristine types 30%, Mixed types 50%, but the rest appear clear products of Arabs, C. Asians, or Hindus.

  • Obviously, there are political motivations in this video. I wouldn't quite take the advise of this video. I would suggest Iranians mark Caucasian, which is technically correct, and write Persian (If you are ethnically persian) or whatever ethnic group you are (Turkmen, Mazandarni, Gilaki, Arab, ect...).

  • What the heck! Iranians are not a minority, they are white.

  • @armofa97 not all of them are white

  • all of these pimps and whores are tied with islamic republic (made in england and america)

  • This video is bullcrap. you can only write down your race not ethnic background. you so called iranian-Americans need to realize the fact that you're in America now and therefor you're Americans first. stop sticking to your past so much. I wrote middle eastern on the form.

valla be khoda bas konid in bache baziyaro dige. inja dige iran nist alan shoma to ye jameeye jadid hastid.

  • Actually I checked White and wrote in Persian. There are 5 races (and middle easterners are "white")so if that's the question I was prepared. If the question is what is my ethnicity that's a different question.

  • @sasha8371 There is only one race and that's Human.

  • I wrote Persian on my form... I figured that was right before seeing this video.

  • I hope everyone is aware that there are black Iranians in this world.

  • the little girl is probably half iranian! :)

    jeezus

  • yes she is her name is Yara Shahidi, she is in the new movie with Eddie Murphy called "imagine that" .......she is just too cute!!!!!!

  • *** On your census form, in box #9 fill in "Iranian" or "Iranian-American" and you can check more than one box for ethnicity!

  • most of them look white except the little black girl

  • She's Iranian-American; her name is YARA SHAHIDI

  • @bitamg she is a little black girl we know....

  • @bitamg She's is ethnically half Iranian, and half African American

  • Why is there a little african american girl lol?

  • Great video ...

Please pass the word around. Hopefully after this census we, like the Arminian community, will also be considered one strong community :-)

  • What do I do when I am an Iranian/Armenian/American and a citizen of the world?

  • The reason why the Iranian count in 2000 was so low and will probably be underrepresented this time around as well, is because most Iranians have this MISTAKEN idea that "WHITE/CAUCASIAN" is synonymous with ARYAN. Most Iranians have an Aryan pride, which coupled with the widespread belief among them that "WHITE" is the "BEST" thing to be, they are inclined to check "White/Caucasian" in every form asking the question. Make a video about THAT. That's the biggest problem people...

  • i thought Iranian-Americans preferred to be called Persians

  • Persian is the predominant ethnic group inside Iran. Iranian is the Nationality, Persian is the most common Ethnicity.

  • @KMehrabi Thank you for clarifying this to the world! Mohemme!

  • @KMehrabi Actually, Iranians have always called themselves Irooni. "Persia" and "Persian" are the Greek terms for Iranians. The old name for Iran was Aryana - land of the Aryans. And Greeks call themselves Hellas; they are the Hellenic Republic.

  • @PersianPrincess7981 Read what I wrote, I did not say anything to contradict that.

I said that Iranians misconceived the that "white" was a self-designation by Northern European descendants of a particular branch of Aryan's to describe their skin tone and demean the rest of the world.

Race and Ethnicity have nothing to do with each other.

Now Iranians claim "whiteness" as though its this GREAT thing that stems from the fact of their Aryan heritage. Makes no sense.
