Actually, God is NOT mentioned once in the U.S. Constitution. The words "God" "Jesus" & "Creator" are NOT found in the constitution for a reason. They strongly valued separation of church and state, it's part of the reason our great nation was even founded.
These words are however found in the Declaration of Independence but if you were actually educated you would know that this was because the DOI was basically a letter written to a king of a religious country, pleading for our independence.
This conservative, fundamentalist, partisan activist produces a bunch of historical DVDs and books which he claims are "truthful", but are contorted distortions to promote his purity nation. Barton needs to be countered.
This man is a charlatan by all accounts. I live in Texas and I am deeply disturbed that we have elected officials on our school board here that have nominated this huckster to critique public school history curriculums. What an out rage! The Rev. Peter Marshall is another wacko our SBOE decided to nominate for this task as well. When will this madness end?
I am concerned about a number of discussions with David Barton and Kenneth Copeland. Mr Barton has an agenda and he believes a Pro Life Republican as President is in the best interest of America. He then finds scripture to fit his agenda.
How nice. Here we have an individual whose only education consists of a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious education from Oral Roberts University, and an honorary Doctor of Letters from Pensacola Christian College, claiming to be an expert on the Supreme Court. Not bright enough to get into a law school, or pass a bar exam- but somehow, this inbred hillbilly is supposed to be a "legal expert".
And people wonder why no one with a functioning brain takes these dominionist christers seriously.
I believe that the Supreme Court has a RESPONSIBILITY to PROTECT the life of the unborn! I do not believe that Obama will hurt that. While he has been a "Pro-Choice" (I read that as PRO ABORTION) candidate, I do believe that the policies he has proposed will do MORE to prevent the killing of innocent children than the policies that McCain has murmured about.
He should have asked for support from these two. He's courted every other religious idiot on the face of the earth, and he has Sarah Palin, so we know he has no taste and no pride.
it really should be. it'd scare a ton of democrats into voting that might not have otherwise done so. i personally want hillary clinton as a justice. i think she'd be ballsy as hell in reforming american laws.

No one is talkin about a theocracy -this is for Christians to advise them on how to vote. You may not want to live in a "theocracy" however if we become a socialist nation then "government" will be god-and you will wish for the days when you were in a free nation and were able to watch what you are watching now.
Socialism includes countries such as, England (and the common wealth there of which includes Canada), Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and pretty much most of western Europe. These are countries that are free to say and watch whatever they want as well as having medical help for everyone, less crime over all, stronger economies, ect. SO far I see nothing wrong with Socialism, but I see a lot wrong with these guys trying to force Christianity onto every citizen and limited our rights by their book.
I still don't see an issue. They pay and receive services for those taxes, such as health care and prescriptions that US seniors cross over to Canada to take advantage of. They also have no limiting on free speech as you seem to imply being the central issue.
Well if that is an issue -then why is this video even posted and why are comments slamming it? Free speech is free speech-this video is free speech-and freedom to express faith.
My issue is not semi socialist countries-it is my country and the fact that it was not started as a socialist country. The things we see coming and are already being implement that are socialist in nature is the nationalizing of all money-Biden even talked about the nationalizing of pensions. Do you want the governme
Are you implying that England, Canada, Denmark and other countries were founded or started on socialism? Socialism does not limit democracy as it is being proposed by Biden or as it is run in England, Canada, ect. Up till the 1970's it was thought that taxes were for the benefit of society.
Then taxes became a bad word under the likes of Reagan who made the individual more important then the society and I think we have proof of how that worked out. The country was founded at a time when we did not have the issues we have today. We must be free to change as the need arises. WE are dealing with a population that far out lives those in 1776 and who need health care. We are dealing with a world in which we need ways of dealing.
Obama for the win!!!! Keep these, for lack of a nice word, idiots out of the interpetation of the law. I do not want to live in a theocracy. Especially when I am not a christian, and truthfully find them scary beyond scary.
barton's relationship with honesty is like the relationship between a pimp and marital fidelity....

The correlation between Christianity and honesty is no more powerfully undermined by David Barton himself.

I don't want people who fear God controlling the laws.

I beg to differ. The supreme court has handed down decisions that the majority of Americans did not want and protested -but they did it anyway.
