I've been playing Mega man X games since they first started and I got this game out of a bargain bin thinking it would be a new platformer or something but its a turn based rpg. the voice acting is horrendous. played it about five minutes and now it will sit on my shelf until im old and retire and don't have anything better to do. why would you want a turn based mega man x rpg. its not like the story is going to be important since there's a thousand sequels and its not like the game play is fun.
I beat the game yesterday, now I'm aiming to finish 100%, that's how great this game is. Also, how the crap do you beat that all mighty prisoner in Giga City, he restores 22500 LE per turn!
BOTTOM LINE: This game doesn't get enough credit. it does have some good replay value. I have over 300 hours on mine from all the treasure hunting and leveling up for the Tails Clan.. This game deserves a 8.5, not a 7.2 The problem is, because it's not a Final Fantasy, oh mah gawd it's not a real RPG. Plus, reviewers tend to bash new Mega Man titles by default.. give it a shot, you'll probably enjoy this one. The only part bad about it, it's very short for the main game. (But oh, so sweet!)

Critics know shit about videogames nowadays.The only thing they think about when reviewing a game is the money they will get for promoting it or hyping it. At the same time, I checked most of the reviews of this "professional" critics. Some retards do not even review the games at all.

does changing your armour change your appearance or not?: Yes, each character gets a different appearance, some more drastic than others. Some get more than one change of armor! (X and Zero)
can u play after you have beaten it or is it over when the credits start? Yes, beating the game opens Ninetails and extra areas in the game.
can u have multiple save slots or just one?: You can have up to 10 saves on one file on the Memory Card.
are the levels unique or are the same every time:Some have puzzles which are VERY hard to get threw and need to be gone threw several times to get everything and can be different, other levels have hidden areas you can't access until later in the game.
is there good customization?: Yes, you can get items that buff up stats on your characters.. you could choose to use all of them on a favorite (I tend to buff X up the most) or split them evenly amongst everyone. Up to you.
how many diff characters can u get?: 7 (X, Zero, Axl, Cinnamon, Marino, Massimo, Spider)
what weapons can u get?: Alot, about 10-15 per character, not including side weapons or Force Metals (think along the lines of Materia in FF7, you'll get the idea.) (to be continued!).
I think back in the day (X1, X2, X3) they called him Mega Man X, as that was his full name. In X4 they shortened the name down to just X. In Maverick Hunter X, Doctor Light calls him "X" and that's it. I believe at this point, Capcom is just keeping "Mega Man" as part of the name because it's still the Mega Man Saga. It's like Mega Man Zero games. We don't call Zero "Mega Man Zero", we just call him Zero. Same for X.

I think it depends on the popularity of the game. Pokemon GBA games are still going for like $20.. and on the GC side there are games like Melee or Zelda which are still in the $20 range after taxes. =\ I don't even think most people know MMXCM ever came out. This wasn't really a title that went flying off the shelves.
The games are inconsistent about this actually. In some cases he's Mega Man X, in other cases he's just X. I'm not certain if he's ever referred to as Rockman X in the Japanese versions.
In any case the review is still wrong here because it insinuates that X is the original Mega Man.
