if Jamel wouldve made it to the NBA through the fire wouldnt be half as great of a story as it was and i actually think Sebastian wouldnt had worked as hard as he did in his hs route and he may be a bust in some eyes but at the end of every season he is always on a team n he made history by being that short and coming out of hs lottery if sebastian wasnt a good player he wouldve been took that overseas route i mean i thinc he can actually make more money overseas
he was not drafted but he got a few opprotunitys to go to the nba, becouse he went to few nba team camps, i think he got to the nba but he got few bad short term contracts
Something went on that wasn't talked about, Jamel Thomas was a stud and him not getting drafted is just , something is up with that. He was so much more physically imposing and skilled than sebastian.
so then Corey Wright...the worst player on the court...takes the final shot for Providence. Misses. AZ goes on to win the Natl Championship. Its the closest the Friars will ever come. painful to watch.
not necessarily true. Through the fire glosses over the fact that Jamel was 25 his senior year at providence way older than most players would be and he didn't shoot great either barely hitting over 40 percent of his shots and did not shoot particularly well from the college 3 either. He might have led the big east in scoring but even marcus hatton and bell had better numbers when they were top dogs in the big east and hatton didn't get drafted either and bell has washed out of the league.
damn yo...you naming names i havent heard in a while...Marcus Hatton, Troy Bell...yo, remember Marvis "Bootsy" Thornton??? St. John's had some good players those years...the Mike Jarvis years...QUEENZ STAND UP!!!
lol yea lavar postell, erik barkley, god cant watch st. johns anymore. jeez they used to b good. reemmber the year they went and beat duke on their home floor?
yeah yo....that was when Bootsy dropped like 40 on them i think...that shit was crazy...its been bad the past 4 years, but i think if they can start gettin some of the top NY talent to commit to SJU then they'll be back to where they were. shit, they need to start by tryin to get Lance Stephenson to sign with them, even tho, i do think he needs to get away from the city in order to succeed...got too many distractions here for him...
that OSU team was iight...scoonie penn, michael redd, and 2 dudes from bk...brian brown & will dudley....but SJU should have won that game, but Erick Barkley dribbled the ball off his leg late in the game and thats wat won the game for osu....
yeah so did i....he was drafted late in the first round by portland, and thats when they were good, they had scottie, rasheed, arvydas, and the rest of them fools and they were contending with the lakers....

thomas was drafted but couldn't adjust to the nba game

Wrong. Jamel wasn't drafted. The documentary "Through the Fire" deals with this specifically. Regardless, he was/is a real talent.

I thought Barkley was gonna turn out okay in the pro's, guess it didn't happen that way.
Those two years with Barkley they were tough teams.

What a game, what a comeback. Definitely a Bitter sweet day. I'm still not sure why sham shot that knuckleball instead of taking it to the cup.
