This is the USMA Spirit Band Drumline. They get 3-5 hours per week of practice, on top of their academic, physical, and military obligations. These are college kids - not professional musicians - with a wide variety of musical experience. No band camp in the summer. We don't have a music department. The band is run by cadets, there is no director. We don't claim to be the best, just better than Navy.

Drumming in the military was designed to keep infantry in step, and formation, and to relay orders to soldiers, from commanders, (just like bugles)
