  • BRILLIANT! I'm glad that someone out there is finally telling the real story by giving Mr. Rustin his rightful due. His role, or more precisely like his revolutionary mindset and ideas were a crucial part of the civil rights movement. Sadly, his sexuality forced him into the background instead of the foreground where he belonged.

    One Love.

  • For those in the New Jersey / New York City area, we're screening Brother Outsider Monday September 26 with the film's director, Rustin's surviving life-partner, NAACP officers and others participating in a discussion afterwards. Find details at GAAMC dot org, click on This Monday at GAAMC. Thank you.

  • I think you meant RUSTIN.org!

Why, oh, why had I never heard of this person until today?

  • How is he going to call himself a negro and then say human beings? He wanted to intergrate with a people who murdered our people. He was soft and scared..period!!! You have to die for something, or you'll be a slave alive!!!

  • @DavidOwenWard He organized the first freedom ride. He was constantly breaking laws and going to jail. That is not done by someone who is just "scared" or "soft". He never said "integrate", he only recognized the political necessity of organizing among diverse disenfranchised groups.

  • @munich64 So what? He was a begger. Freedom ride to what? NO!! You have to have your own nation to be poilically strong in this country. Where are we now? Mind your business. He was intergrating into Americas politics!!!

  • He was before MLK.

  • I DON'T GIVE A FUCK WHAT SOMEONES SEXUAL PREFERENCES IS IT TAKES ALL KINDS TO BRING PEACE & HARMONY TO THIS FUCKED UP WORLD ! IM STRAIGHT BUT I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST GAYS ! THIS MAN WAS THE MASTERMIND BEHIND THE MOVEMENT HE DESERVES HIS DUE, HE GAVE HIS LIFE !!!

  • he's my hero!

  • The full length film was honest and moving. This is only a small glimpse
