I have this dvd. Its Anatomy of a drum solo and it was expensive. It was promoted to schools. Hal Leonard is a part of it too. Go get the dvd its worth it. Theres an hour of "explorations" I think it is really meant for a middle school music class. Very entertaining with sound....

Works become public domain when its copyright expires. A copyright expires (in the US) 70 years after the death of the last credited writer. In Canada, it's 50 years after.

So, if Neil is the last member of Rush to die, and he dies in 2031... Rush's music will become public domain in 2081 (assuming it's published in Canada).

Do you really have to change anything to be good? Or even the best at something already created? I won't go around saying he's the best (though I do think he is one of the best in hard rock), but making changes isn't really necessary for being great at something. I'm talking in generalities here. I think fans and musicians respect his ability because he has great skill in drumming, not that he has implemented anything drastically different. Peart didn't change anything as far as how the instrument is played. Their silence in NOT backing up their statement only proves they do not know what the hell they are talking about. I gave a tiny history of people who indeed DID INDEED change the way the instrument is played. Get Max Roach's Jazz in 3/4 time to hear what Peart TRIES to do.
