  • Hi Dana, have started my herringbone in the round. It's a challenge, had to unpick 4 times, because the work on the needles got sooo twisted. For anyone else doing this do not get the work twisted on the cable or the needles, keep checking. Fingers crossed, I think I've got it sorted and things are looking good. Cant wait to finish it. A lesson in patience and concentration, loving it. Fingersandthumbs2

  • Hello! I love your tutorials, very helpful! I am currently trying to make a herringbone cowl myself and my round 1 turned out lovely. My round 2 on the other had looks horrendous. Instead of laying like its supposed to the diagonal threads are more horizontal against the nice neat 1st round as if it were knit loosely. I have never done herringbone in rounds and I'm not sure if it will tighten up or not. any suggestions?

  • @ashleyc3po My suggestion would be to start tugging on the yarn with every stitch. Are you using thick yarn as I am here in the tutorial or are you using regular weight yarn? Sometimes it all depends on the yarn, but in your case pull on the yarn with each stitch and your project should start to pull together nicely.

Keep me posted and feel free to reach out again if I may be of any assistance.

  • Your tutorials on the herringbone stitch are so helpful. Your voice and instructions very clear, you could teach me to fly to the moon, easy!! Am about to knit a scarf in the round using the herringbone stitch. You are an inspiration/great teacher. Thank you.

  • @fingersandthumbs2 Your comment made my day. Thank you so much for your warm words. It's truly encouraging to hear back from my viewers and hear their appreciation. I truly am grateful to God for it all!

Please feel free to post pictures of your herringbone scarf in the round on our Facebook page when it's complete. I'd love to see it!

  • This is so much easier than most explanations, thanks!

How would you do this with two colours? Two rows for each, or one row for each colour?

    Thanks!

  • @tripazia Thanks so much for watching!

If using two colors, I would definitely do the two rows in one color before switching to the another color.

  • @CraftDknits Thank you! Going to start tonight :-)

  • @tripazia Awesome, let me know how it turns out. Maybe, I'll try it out too!

  • @XXifiwereacolorXX Thank you so much and thanks for watching!

  • Hi. first of all I love the tutorial. So simple and easy to do. What kind of yarn didyou use for this? It looks like bulky weight yarn but im not exactly sure. And i know gauge changes with yarn type.I see the comment wherein says size 13 24" circulars.

  • @jaylagene Thanks so much for watching. I used Loops & Threads Cozy wool yarn for this pattern. Yup, the needles size is correct as well. I hope you'll give this pattern a try.

  • @TOOCHOCLATE50 Thanks you for watching and supporting. I'll keep them coming. God bless!

  • Hey Dana, Love your videos what size cirrular needles are you using for this video?

  • @TOOCHOCLATE50 Hello dear! I used size 13, 24" circulars for this tutorial.

  • I did P2 tog in front for the 1st row. However, I then k2tog in back . It seems to look the same. Thanks for the help and I will keep you posted Dana.

  • @br1gette Ok cool. Not a problem. Thanks for reaching out.

  • Hi. First, I'd like to say that I love your videos. I have a lot of trouble understanding a written pattern. Now. With that being said, However, I thought I was cute. Did my cast-on and then took my daughter to the playground for a little while. I took my work with me. I started to do the stitches and wasn't until I returned that I realized I did it backwards. Purled two together in front instead of knitting two together . Do I have to start over? HELP!

  • @br1gette Thank you so much for watching! Now for further clarity, did you P2tog in front for row 1 or row 2? If you did this for row 1, then you should be fine. But row 2 must be a K2tog in front. The P2tog in front will actually give the same slant needed as if your K2tog in the back.

I hope that I helped and didn't further confuse you.
