They didnt give away free epics like they do it Wotlk you had to work for them it went like this. Get revered = get the keys to do heroics = get marks to buy resistance gear = you can TRY to start raiding big stuff. you go get a full group of level 70s and go try kil jaden or illidan trust me not as easy.

I feel that Vanilla had a universe built into it that will never be matched. The raids, quests, zones - everything was pleasantly matched with a perfect balance of difficulty and entertainment. I raided some BC content, I think I got through SSC, then I failed to continue. I refuse to raid WotLK anymore. They may bring back the material from Classic in Cataclysm, but the atmosphere will never be duplicated. I really hope that I'm proven wrong.

@GraniteAge Actually, I stopped at Ulduar. It was hard at first, but within a few weeks (days as far as YS was concerned) they ezmode loot pinata nerfed it so the PUGers would stop crying. I got fed up.

Also, Algalon was only as hard as he was because he despawned after 1 hour. Per week. Time constraint = artificial difficulty so that guilds couldn't grind the boss for 12 hours and eventually down him in a day or two.

Seriously. Sunwell took a month to World First. Ulduar 25-H took... days.

I got a DK to 80 and I him fully geared in Heroric raid gear and comparing him to KJ with and without the nerf he was harder then the LK on both modes. I also did AQ40 on my 70 and I have respect for the 60s who 40 maned that because it was hard as hell. If anyone screwed up it usually went to a wipe. WoW is turning into a casual game where 8 year olds can faceroll and get good gear. Blizz should make Pre BC and BC servers :).

Molten Core was fucking piss terrible at release. Back when T2 would "rarely" drop in there and BWL wasn't out.

BWL took ages just to learn.

AQ40 was absolutely horrible. C'thun wasn't even attemptable for a while due to the amount of unfixable scripts going on. Even then it was a good 30 minute fight.

Naxx nobody could down Loatheb until the 2.0 Buffs which overwrote the healing debuff you took from Fungals.

@ch0biq BC had it's own (skill)set of problems but they were manageable, first kills were still pretty rough but they didn't get bad until you started into the problems that came with consumable stacking for SSC. People complained and nerfed it into categories; SSC gets cleared 24 hours later due to the major nerf and has to get re-tuned. Things are fine up until BT and that was a whole batch of horrible.

@ch0biq Sunwell wasn't too bad, brutallus was a major cockblock involving entire guilds to swap professions for "ideal" set rotations to beat the enrage timer. It was pretty much free loot up until M'uru, who was a major whore to beat. You either wiped in the first 60 seconds or wiped at 1% or cleared it. KJ was just a trainwreck. Post Aura Nerf you could probably beat it in greens, they made it so terrible.
