In answer to the critic who wanted to know why Chubby and the others sang the same stuff...Chubs, Danny & the Juniors, the Dovells (etc) hit the charts when rock'n roll was FUN! There was underlying "social pathos" that needed exploring, no wrenching emotions to expose (except unrequited love, of course!)--this was when music was just damn fun to dance to, to listen to, and to play. Get off the superior attitude-trip and just---enjoy!!
