Weird that Ive stumbled upon this video.Damage wasent horrible my roof was gone & the neighbors. It landed 100yds behind Walgreens Crossed J. st. Hit the Flower Shop,Subdock, Apartments behind Flower Shop(Yellow House Across from Subdock) Then my house the continued down thru the Cathedral Area. stopped at Western & Nicholson.Im old enough to have seen the Plainfeild F5 I remember it Rained Shingles. My Mom drove over there & it was just devastated. This was a small one I don't wanna see a Big One.
This Tornado came down right across the street from my house, Corner Jefferson St. & William St. Right behide Subdock. It was the fuckin scariest thing ever. I was smoking a joint looking out my window(I.E. 420) The sky got black & then I ran down stairs. I seen it come down over Jefferson St. & then the house was in a black cloud with green flash's all over (transformers breaking) It was frickin horrible. But nothing compared to the plainfeild tornado that was an F5.This was an F1.
I was 7 when this happened...since my town was in the warning, i was FREAKING out. that's all we were talking about for the rest of the week in my class. Damn. this event was totally unexpected.
omg I remember this I was in kindergarden at the time and my family had just goten home from walmart and then my dad saw the thing on the news and I saw it while in my brothers room watching TV and the power went out and we heard the sirens and we sat in the basement for 2 hours then the next day I went to skool and someone said their family members saw it o-o
was this the tornado that hit the industrial park by kcc?,I was on a beer run when i pulled over by panozzo's and watched it tear up stuff,it was scary as hell.
I remember this. I was just coming home. The wind grabbed the door out of my hand but the door just like suspened and didn't bang against the banister. Then a bit later I walked out and saw all the debris. I lived in the Catherdal area one block of Western where most of the damage was.
dude i hate storms and i remeber taking a video of the actual tornado i live in elwood and joliet parents divorced but neway i saw that tornado and almost shit my pant!!!!
i remember this storm! my aunts house had a tree fall on it! i was in new lenox at the time but was scared to death cause it was bad out there too! but i will admit the clouds on the way out there before the storm were AMAZING!
OMG, you remeber that tornado that almost hit joliet about a month or so ago? I and everyone else walking home from school was in the middle of it. I was friggin scared to death
This was the storm that hit the Cathedral neighborhood area of Joliet I believe. In teh Joliet/Plainfield area the sirens will be activated in a second if things get rough.
They are American Signal P50s producing 135db @100 ft. this siren has recently been redesigned to have battery back-up and is only single tone now. This siren has a 50 horse power motor. They do sound creepy but cool!
This was on April 20th 2004... the tornado that desroyed the town of Utica, IL whcih killed 8 people and did a lot of damage to Granville. I was there with my fire dept. for search and rescue.
Joliet is my town neighbor (I live in Plainfield) and I love hearing this kind of siren. Was this the year when the tornado was on Ingalls or something?
Nope the T-135 AC was replaced by the T-132 DC, check your resources before posting igorant statements. The new T-132 DC looks exactly like the T-128 but much larger.
sounds like he's suffering from superspiel syndrome. symptoms are claiming you are getting or have sirens that no one has or will remotely have in their collection such as a square horned hurricane or in this case a T-135, just to gain popularity. now when I post about getting a siren, and I do own 5 sirens, I prove it. sorry to drag this on, but it bugs me when people do things like this.
lol, you think i was lying?? granville is in putnam county, the old elementry got hit so they moved the kids from that school to the school in hennipen and the 5th graders into my old Jr. High.
The Chrysler sirens are huge. And since its powered by a HEMI, it has to be pretty loud. I wonder if anyone has or can upload of that thing in action.
Oh yeah there weren't no sirens when the Tornado Hit. Only after. & 30 minutes before it hit. Gay huh...
