didn't even make it 30 seconds. "evolutionism". All I needed to know about the nature of the video and the familiarity of its creator with the subject matter.
Proof is in the D.N.A. Look it up. Also if you want proof of it happening today just look at the weeds and insects that have evolved to be resistant to the chemicals humans have created to destroy them. I believe the company is Monsanto that is now finding evolution to be quite costly for them. Life is amazing, so amazing that the thought of it being created is to far fetched for this fellow. Magic is great entertainment but not a real explanation for anything.
Science has given us the modern world, religion has given us planes through buildings. Science has nothing to say about God. Creationism does not equal God.
Who are you to say Bush or anyone else is not a Christian? Or do they have to be YOUR KIND of Christian?Creationists reject any science that goes against their belief. However they typically accept technology, as you have to spew their propaganda. Ask you about thermodynamics? Why? So you're an expert on the subject? You can reject or accept whatever you like, and obviously you do. You yourself ASSUME you religion to be correct, what evidence is there? Absolutely none.
Evolutionism? LOL. I suppose God magically created the duckbill platypus, legless lizards, flightless birds, walking catfish, lungfish, no transitional forms? LOL. Let's forget the toenails on those manatees too. It's not a belief, come up with a better theory. No wait, I know you don't have to. Ahhh..wait instead of "created" they were "designed." Yeah that sounds better.
Know several biologists have never met even one EVOLUTIONIST, whatever that is. Maybe I can sign up for Evolutionism.
It's about creationism. They can, but they are true when applied to creationism and false when applied to science. If a lot of diligent, hardworking, and intelligent people believe something, that something might be important. I care. Appealing to authority is not a logical fallacy. Appealing to inappropriate authority is a logical fallacy. He didn't say that people should believe it because 95% of scientists believe it. Not enough space to finish but I'd like to hear about thermodynamics.
I'm sorry, I only got through the first few minutes before I just couldn't bear to listen to you not getting the point. I'll just speak about what I heard.
1. That's not an appeal to authority. To utter that statement at all means that you're either an idiot, or a liar. If Aron had said that because 95% of scientists believe in evolution therefore it's true, then THAT is an appeal to authority.
2. The interdependency of the various branches of science only gives it MORE credence. Science is
@Niemtol If I said anything about evolution that was incorrect, please correct me. I strive to be accurate when defining evolution, which is why I relied on the National Center for Science Education's definition.
He was stating they blieve it becouse of research that is why 99% or what ever blieve in it(in a nutshell going there is not controversy). Ignoring fossils is willful retardation.
If you combine them with genetic records you have proof, yes every fossil is a transitional form I can even post them in human progression backed by peer review.
Also if you do not blieve it get a degree and check there work. I would not want a bible scholar doing medicine or operating. Talk oregins name papers.
So....we cant rely on what scientists say because that is an appeal to authority? Do you not appeal to authority every time you claim the bible to be true? Is appealing to God not appealing to authoirty? What does any of this have to do with the accuracy, honesty and integrity of creationism?
@davidsfriend01 You are free to rely on whatever authority you wish. But it is a logical fallacy to say that someone ELSE should believe something just because an authority figure says it. If you trust scientists to be honest, feel free to believe them. But don't expect the rest of the world to share that trust.
I don't recall mentioning the Bible in this video. This video is not about Creationism per se. It is a response to AronRa's video. Nothing more, nothing less.
@rudeministries "If you trust scientists to be honest, feel free to believe them" One scientist, no. many many scientists, all subject to peer review, I'm more likely to trust. Not completely.
"I don't recall mentioning the Bible in this video." No, you didnt. I never said you did. I do however find it odd that people who refuse to appeal to authority (scientists) repeatedly appeal to authority (the bible).
The "appeal to authority" seems to be a significant part of your video.
@rudeministries "95% of scientists" is not 'an authority', it's a realization that the people who actually study these things, with proper error checking from others, all agree that this is a verifiable fact. And 'evolutionism' exists no more than 'gravityism'.
Ha hahahaha hahahaahaahaa. Try watching some of the 160+ vids on his page or his appearences on 'The Magic Sandwich', or the Athiest Experience for some of the answers that you are looking for.
Appealing to a single book is correct? Don't think so!!

Best evidence for common descent? Not fossils... DNA.

Appeal to authority = 95% of the scientists believe in evolution therefore, evolution is true.
Not appealing to authority = 95% of the scientists believe/except evolution because of the evidence it contains, therefore it is true.
What you are referring to is not an appeal to authority my friend.

Lets disect your falsehoods...
1: He didn't use the % of Scientists as evidence it is true it wasjsut a statement
2: Strawman argument...He said to UNDERSTAND Evolution, not to BELIEVE in evolution
3: Experts cross refernce because its a unifying theory, look up the term
4: Yes there are transitional forms
Know what..Im done, this is a long Strawman argument
