Great, I really like your video. I wish you would talk during the video if you can and explain what is going on. It is easier to learn when eyes and ears are used, and it helps me to understand what I see.
Hi. Is it usual to have the brushtip pointed at an angle that way? It's very interesting and the results are great. What is the name of the company where you got that brush? Good brushes are so hard to find. Thanks! Keep posting basic lessons, please! : )
HI, I live in india and i am an artist, I am facinated by sumi e, its like a magical dream dance, i recently acquired my sumi e brush ink and stone... and i want to learn it, i would welcome all the help i can get.. i learned some by looking at your video and would appritiate if you can direct me how to develop my skills, thank you!!!
it's really good help for me to get more knowledge about this flower.
This orchid's botanical name is "Cymbidium goeringii
". and English name in dictionary is Goering cymbidium. Does it make sense???
This is called "Shun-Ran" in JPN, means Orchid in Spring litterary along with Chinese Charactor. Therefore, I thought it's called Orchid in English.. I checked photo of both orchid and cynbidium, and found myself wrong. anyway, this flower is Cymbidium goeringii :D
I agree with Sherri....your videos ARE relaxing to watch.....I wonder, what do you do with your paintings when you finish them? Do you display them, do you put them in a box somewhere, or do you sell them?
What a shame....I hate thinking of art disappearing into a box (although take a guess as to where mine usually ends up...^_^) How much do you usually sell your paintings for?
incredible skills, thx 4 uploading

I am amazed at the ease in which you paint. Do you ever use bottled ink? And how do you keep you brush in that sort of arc shape? Love your work.
ticklememonet 4 years ago
hi, ticklememonet, thanks.
I use sumi stick, griding on sumi stone. A bottled ink is ok, but little too black for me. and the scent of sumi when griding is enjoyable.
An arc shape is maintained with the appropreate water in brush hair! please try :)
