Don't think that the Gaither people haven't forgotten him. As I think he is always been friendly with them. But he wanted to move on and possibly spend time with his family. And that comes first and foremost and should be first!
If you remember when David Phelps left the GVB, (who by the way has THE best voice on earth), there was no mention of him either. I think it has to do with 'you move on' with the new group, and not dwell on the past. Guy was on leave of absence for the first half of the season. I think his departure was a family need, be it medical, family support, or those teenage boys who might need their dad more often. Or maybe he just decided he wanted to do something else for a change.
I second that, thelastone51. This is absolutely heartbreaking. To think of Guy as just being written off and never even spoken of by the Gaither people after all his years with GVB.. Whatever the circumstances, it's just not right to treat him that way. I love you Guy and miss you and pray for you and your family every day. God bless you in your future efforts. Waiting for your CD and your next DVD.
Your reactions are overkill. Do they need to mention him at every concert? Where does it end? Do they need to mention Lee, Buddy, Steve, Larnelle, Marshall, Jonathan, Terry, etc. too? You're reading way too much into Guy's leaving. How about giving the benefit of the doubt that he just needs a break after over a decade of concerts while he has a growing family? Mark took the break too after that long... I don't think it's fair that you think the Gaithers "wrote him off".
I'm well aware that Guy is fine, pompasmurf. That wasn't the point of my comment of five months ago and from your comment back to me yesterday, you know what my issue is. I wonder why you care what I think. Do I know you?
My favorite artist, Guy Penrod, seems to have been dropped like he never existed. You just don't do that to a "family" member and to he's my favorite of all time.
Why no mention of him? If he needs our prayers, tell us his needs, don't just drop him like you don't care about him anymore. I don't care to watch any of the Vocal Band without him.
We saw the GVB taping in San Antonio last month and no way was it the same without Guy! He is so sweet that he may be staying out for awhile to give Michael English a chance to come back...not room for both as they are both very strong leads. He also has teen age boys and maybe wants to be home for them right now. I know at one time he was involved in a church near their home, so who knows? Let's do keep praying for him...whatever it is!

Go to Youtube and look up "Where In The World is Guy Penrod" - video "iaWzaEuU-8Y". He's doing fine. Take a chill pill.
