  • BEE GEES THE BEST MUSIC

  • I Can't believe I was only 8 and in 2nd grade when this came out and when I was a senior in high school the Bee Gees were still rated the number 1 group

  • fuck yeah! i'm going there (too see avenged sevenfold :p)

  • I love the scratchiness in Barry's voice on To Love Somebody, I think this is my favorite version of this song.

  • WOW!!

  • Wow, what a the great performing LIVE in this concert back in 1971, I wish that we can back in that time can see them --3 brothers Gibb again !!!, God we missed them all.

  • I did see Barry and the bros. live in concert 8 years later in 1979. It was every bit worth the wait. Class act. Humble, kind, and right on cue.

Bee Gees are awesome. So worth the price of the ticket I paid for. Best concert ever.

I love Barry Gibb, Such a nice man.

  • Barry was my dream guy back in the day. Wish I could have seen them live. Awesome, talented and so very underrated

  • I want to see a film made of the boy Bee Gees from child to present (2010) singing every single song they have sung. Is it possible cos I could sit for weeks lisening and watching them. xxx

  • love loooove this

  • Classic clip !

  • Brings back many a fond memory of performances at Festival Hall, thank you for posting.

  • Bee Gees are the best group ever, pure class and perfection. These guys were just amazing!

  • i love this song. a reality in life which we cant control...sometimes. can someone tell me if there was a moment that beegees and beatles performed together?thank you

  • I have never read where they ever performed together. Maurice is quoted as saying John Lennon bought him his first drink (scotch & Coke, I believe). Maurice & LuLu lived next door to Ringo & Maureen. Maurice & Ringo were big drinking buddies at that time. You can see a crazy home video Maurice & Ringo made during that time posted on youtube. And, of course, Robin married Brian Epstein's secretary. I've read many rock bio's but never read anything to suggestion they ever performed together

  • Not many people know that the song "To Love Somebody" was written for the late great Otis Redding who never recorded it because of his untimely death. I can only imagine what it would have sounded like.

  • benba1

  • Absolutely wonderful, love the Bee Gees music so much, I was there at that concert.

  • I'm jealous!

  • Simplemente extraordinario. La sincronización de las voces, la armonía musical y la orquesta a la altura de este gran trio de hermanos. Por siempre Los Bee Gees, los mejores.

  • What a great set of guys, I really love all of their voices thanks.

  • Best ever!! Nough said

  • best video ever, they are best!

  • what can you say about the bee gees grew up with them luv em.

  • amazing they filmed this in black and white in 1971... it says something .. im not sure what... but something...

really nice "To love somebody" ... great to see a rock band with a backing orchestra live !

  • they may have been influenced by the moody blues then.

  • and to think they were a success even before they became more famous when they did disco a.k.a saturday night fever

  • Yeah, many people dont know that Words, To love somebody, I cant see nobody, Lonely days and many other songs were world hits in the 60s and in the beginning of the 70s. Nothing to do with disco, when they were kings too. Over talentous.

We should begin a campaign to ask Robin and Barry to tour all over the world...

  • The "And Then There Were Two" tour ... Barry & Robin, Paul & Ringo, Pete & Roger ....

  • They left an indellible mark on the music industry. Man.... those were the GOOD DAYS.

  • Hats off to The great Bee Gees

Its difficult to compare geniuses.

Meine Favoriten, BeeGees1,Idea, Still waters. Nicht zu vergessen, die Songs für andere Interpreten, wie "Morning of my life" für die Ofarims.

  • Wonderful to hear Barry, Maurice & Robin in their early days again. Was lucky enough to see them the following year in concert here in Toronto, Canada. Will never forget the experience. Thanks to jmp46 for the post.

  • brilliant! fantastic!

  • To love somebody...Barry, Robin and Maurice.

  • British bands are the best indeed- I love this group- they are so so great!!

  • great music - that is wonderful -

  • Great performance. It's a shame Barry's voice ain't what it used to be, at least in the falsetto range. He can't quite manage the high notes today which must be disappointing for him. Robin's voice however remains ethereal.

I'm sure if Maurice were alive they'd still be in the studio.

They were an incredible group, the likes of which we'll never see again.

  • I agree the bee gees were an incredible group, in fact in my opinion they were the best by far.

Please dont be surprised that barry's voice isn't as good as it was in 71 - it was 38 years ago you have to consider ! Pele isn't as good a footballer as he was in 71 also.

    Bee Gees forever.....

  • 2nd song-To love somebody

    Song is sung so strong

    with heart and soul

You can feel the light and vibe

    it gives to your soul...Lane*

  • They are live even better than in the studio.

    Great performance.

  • ahhhhh! this gave me chills!!!

    MARRY ME ROBIN!!!!!!! <3

  • AGREED!

  • ok thanks

  • Awesome,i can't believe i was 10years old.

for me the best group in the 20th century

  • I AGREE!

  • johnny rotten of the sex pistols is a huge bee gees fan! no kidding

  • Lucky, lucky, lucky audience!!!

  • AMEN!

  • Wow...

I didn't know the BeeGees did non-falsetto before today... Its amazing! (I'm 19 btw)

    Jeeze... Awesome stuff!

Brothers Gibb will live on forever if this kid likes it!

  • They did and that period hold some AWESOME material. Take a listen to their EARLY stuff and you will BE BLOWN AWAY! THEY SURE WILL!

  • Proud to be Aussie ! For those outside Australia, we consider them Australian, (yes I know they were born on the Isle of Man) but they formed the group in Brisbane. I saw them in 1973 when they played their "new" single".. Jive Talking. Cost me all of $4.00! Those were the days.

  • Jive Talking in 1973???

  • Oops wrong year. Just checked my ticket (still have it after all these years!) I saw them 23rd September 1974 at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney. I guess they were previewing it.

  • I've just found out that there are on Youtube a few songs of a 1974 Australia show.

  • I love the young Aussie fan, I wonder if he knows he is on YouTube?

  • maravilloso... suspiros y mas suspiros, que bella musica..!! gracias.. mil gracias

  • this is obviously archive footage shown on rage, a late night music video show.

  • is the best versions of new york mining disaster and to love somebody that i have headed!!

  • So much better when you have violons, harps, and other real instruments rather than keyboards. It sounds so much better.

  • You said it!

  • I have never seen this, where is it from, video, tv?

  • live concert melbourne 1971

  • at Festival Hall

  • These guys have the greatest vocal blend of any group ever!

  • Oh how wonderful to see them performing in Brisbane where they grew up. Just awesome!

  • This is from Festival Hall in Melboune.

  • I like this video... Part of the music history, but its part of my history too, and it make's me very happy. After all, we're still here!!!

  • I heard what Barry told his brothers, "We've dreamed we'd sing on this stage and here we are." I bet they had no idea how far they would go. All the concerts, interviews, and honors they would receive in the future. They are the top musicians in all of history. The magicial music they have given the world will survive and continue to be played for many more decades to come. Thanks for sharing this video of music history in the making. BEE GEES FOREVER!!!

  • Amazing, never seen this, you should upload the rest of the DVD if you have. Thanks much

  • espectacular...muy bueno....sensacional

  • Best ever. I think they are even better then the Beatles.

  • THEY ARE!!! They have beaten every musicians musical records: 5/6 hits at ONE TIME in the Top Ten, Top Ten hits 5 decades in a row, no other movie soundtrack has broken number of sales as 'Saturday Night Fever', 5 Grammys, etc, etc, etc. They are the top singer, songwriter, producer - musical group to ever perform. Their music and harmony has created so much magic and will continue to be played for decades to come. BEE GEES FOREVER!!!

  • Cam anyone spell...AWESOME ???

  • Barry always gives everything he has when he sings a song.

  • I've got the DVD of this concert this is in Melborne 15th July 1971

    (DVD WOW-222 / barcode 8 795648 431621)

  • Where can I get it, please?

  • Can you send a copy to Holland

  • please upload

  • I finally got it too! Worthwhile.

  • Thank you very much for uploading this. The Bee Gees with orchestra! Who else can perform like they did.

    They are the best.

  • I totally agree Mr Quebec ~ The Brothers incedible talent and music was pure heaven to watch unfold and yes ~ Barry Gibb and a guitar ~ timeless ~ G`day from OZ!!!

  • I knew that when I first saw The Brothers on TV here in AUSTRALIA as little kids that their magical music would flood the world and turn it upside down and on it`s ear...and they did!!!

  • Must have great to have seen their evolution. There will never be another performer like Barry Gibbs. I just love to see Barry with an acoustical guitar.

  • Would be great if you posted How Can you mend a broken heart!

  • How proud they must have been after all the work to see their dreams come true.

  • Why do we usually see Robin with his right hand to his ear?

  • He uses a hearing device to help him cut out surrounding noise. If you notice in newer concerts, all of them have these little "Hearing aids" in their ears.

  • Thanks for the info!!!

  • Hi MR Quebec, I don't know if someone else has replied to you,I think beacouse he usually does the second voice respect to Barry lead one,and so he has to silent Barry's voice in a such way...often singers do this way..

  • In black and white and in 1971...

  • y'know, rock w/an orchestra is usually pretentious and dull, but the brothers pull it off w/their songs and charisma. great stuff. God bless the bee gees.

  • I don't remember any rock group with orchestra using trumpets and harps like in this show.

  • Music was so better without the synthesizers. Thank you so very much!

  • Fantastic! excellent archieve video of the worlds greatest group!

  • Great!Did other songs of this concert you have?

    THANKS.

  • Someone will correct me if I'm wrong... I think this is The Bee Gees Live in Melbourne 1971 shown on that site:beegeesDOTdk/live.htm>> The DVD is probably available.

  • Do a search on Lay It On Me and Spicks and Specks.

  • AWSOME!!! Love it!!!
