I Can't believe I was only 8 and in 2nd grade when this came out and when I was a senior in high school the Bee Gees were still rated the number 1 group
Wow, what a the great performing LIVE in this concert back in 1971, I wish that we can back in that time can see them --3 brothers Gibb again !!!, God we missed them all.
I want to see a film made of the boy Bee Gees from child to present (2010) singing every single song they have sung. Is it possible cos I could sit for weeks lisening and watching them. xxx
i love this song. a reality in life which we cant control...sometimes. can someone tell me if there was a moment that beegees and beatles performed together?thank you
I have never read where they ever performed together. Maurice is quoted as saying John Lennon bought him his first drink (scotch & Coke, I believe). Maurice & LuLu lived next door to Ringo & Maureen. Maurice & Ringo were big drinking buddies at that time. You can see a crazy home video Maurice & Ringo made during that time posted on youtube. And, of course, Robin married Brian Epstein's secretary. I've read many rock bio's but never read anything to suggestion they ever performed together
Not many people know that the song "To Love Somebody" was written for the late great Otis Redding who never recorded it because of his untimely death. I can only imagine what it would have sounded like.
Simplemente extraordinario. La sincronización de las voces, la armonía musical y la orquesta a la altura de este gran trio de hermanos. Por siempre Los Bee Gees, los mejores.
Yeah, many people dont know that Words, To love somebody, I cant see nobody, Lonely days and many other songs were world hits in the 60s and in the beginning of the 70s. Nothing to do with disco, when they were kings too. Over talentous.
We should begin a campaign to ask Robin and Barry to tour all over the world...
Its difficult to compare geniuses.
Meine Favoriten, BeeGees1,Idea, Still waters. Nicht zu vergessen, die Songs für andere Interpreten, wie "Morning of my life" für die Ofarims.
Wonderful to hear Barry, Maurice & Robin in their early days again. Was lucky enough to see them the following year in concert here in Toronto, Canada. Will never forget the experience. Thanks to jmp46 for the post.
Great performance. It's a shame Barry's voice ain't what it used to be, at least in the falsetto range. He can't quite manage the high notes today which must be disappointing for him. Robin's voice however remains ethereal.
I'm sure if Maurice were alive they'd still be in the studio.
They were an incredible group, the likes of which we'll never see again.
I agree the bee gees were an incredible group, in fact in my opinion they were the best by far.
Please dont be surprised that barry's voice isn't as good as it was in 71 - it was 38 years ago you have to consider ! Pele isn't as good a footballer as he was in 71 also.
Proud to be Aussie ! For those outside Australia, we consider them Australian, (yes I know they were born on the Isle of Man) but they formed the group in Brisbane. I saw them in 1973 when they played their "new" single".. Jive Talking. Cost me all of $4.00! Those were the days.
Oops wrong year. Just checked my ticket (still have it after all these years!) I saw them 23rd September 1974 at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney. I guess they were previewing it.
I heard what Barry told his brothers, "We've dreamed we'd sing on this stage and here we are." I bet they had no idea how far they would go. All the concerts, interviews, and honors they would receive in the future. They are the top musicians in all of history. The magicial music they have given the world will survive and continue to be played for many more decades to come. Thanks for sharing this video of music history in the making. BEE GEES FOREVER!!!
THEY ARE!!! They have beaten every musicians musical records: 5/6 hits at ONE TIME in the Top Ten, Top Ten hits 5 decades in a row, no other movie soundtrack has broken number of sales as 'Saturday Night Fever', 5 Grammys, etc, etc, etc. They are the top singer, songwriter, producer - musical group to ever perform. Their music and harmony has created so much magic and will continue to be played for decades to come. BEE GEES FOREVER!!!
I totally agree Mr Quebec ~ The Brothers incedible talent and music was pure heaven to watch unfold and yes ~ Barry Gibb and a guitar ~ timeless ~ G`day from OZ!!!
I knew that when I first saw The Brothers on TV here in AUSTRALIA as little kids that their magical music would flood the world and turn it upside down and on it`s ear...and they did!!!
Must have great to have seen their evolution. There will never be another performer like Barry Gibbs. I just love to see Barry with an acoustical guitar.
He uses a hearing device to help him cut out surrounding noise. If you notice in newer concerts, all of them have these little "Hearing aids" in their ears.
Hi MR Quebec, I don't know if someone else has replied to you,I think beacouse he usually does the second voice respect to Barry lead one,and so he has to silent Barry's voice in a such way...often singers do this way..
y'know, rock w/an orchestra is usually pretentious and dull, but the brothers pull it off w/their songs and charisma. great stuff. God bless the bee gees.
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong... I think this is The Bee Gees Live in Melbourne 1971 shown on that site:beegeesDOTdk/live.htm>> The DVD is probably available.

I did see Barry and the bros. live in concert 8 years later in 1979. It was every bit worth the wait. Class act. Humble, kind, and right on cue.
Bee Gees are awesome. So worth the price of the ticket I paid for. Best concert ever.
