I admit this was a good pay per view, matt being the jeff hardy attacker was awesome the internet fans had no idea, wrestling needs to surprise us more, the only thing that pissed me off was beth losing the title, that was just dumb, she should of killed melina, wwe needs to get someone legit to fight phonenix, I say move natayla over to raw, they are the only 2 women in the company who are more then just eye candy. cant wait till christian re-debuts:)
Im not sure about RVD hes my favriote and all,but in a interview i saw RVD said wrestling wasnt really fun to him anymore, but his wife is fine now so IDK
I got a small gripe.....do people wanna be surprised anymore? seriously? every smark reads up on who is coming and what angle is gonna happen and who the hell is going to win the match before it even happens.
Do people care about legitimately being caught off guard and being entertained?
i have this feeling, that there doing the same thing with beth phoenix/rosa mendes, as they did with mickie james and trish, its kinda stale if you ask me,
good video m8 big fan in my opinion i think christian will come back as face and it will be a 4 way of some kind at wrestlemania christian vs jeff vs matt vs edge for wwe title
Great video as always. I didn't like the rumble as much as everyone else, for me it just felt like another battleroyal. It didn't have any stand out moments or eliminations.
Good Royal Rumble PPV, not the best nor the worst. I dislike that Randy won though, I am a HUGE Randy fan, but I rather see someone unpredictable winning a Rumble, Randy was too obvious so not something I liked. Jeff vs Edge was good, I saw Matt turning on Jeff coming, but didn't like it, I would rather see Jeff and Matt vs Edge and Christian at WM25. Something funny I wouldn't mind seeing is Jeff Hardy with Christian against Edge and Matt. Just a little something no one would think of lol.
I too really loved the Rumble Match this year and it's become one of my favorites next to Flair winning it (best rumble win AND performance ever). Rey, Morrison, Carlito breaking the record, Randy beating down and offering Cody his brother to eliminate him (That to me is history, and I love the Rhodes family, Dusty should be proud), Orton winning it, RVD making a sweet special appearance, Mike Knox and his beard of awesomness given a fair amount of time, Orton winning it. Great Rumble.
No, I have not been to any live PPVs. I live in Connecticut, so the nearest PPVs we got were last year's Rumble in NYC and Great American Bash in Long Island. I wanted to go to the Rumble last year but it sold out quick and I strongly dislike the Bash so I decided not to go.
Melina and Beth was a good one for me, though I really think Melina should've been allowed some more offensive spots (though, for the record, that spot where Beth bashed Melina's head in with Melina's own foot was sick). I really thought we would've seen a Rosa Mendez run-in, though -- maybe attacking Melina right before Beth would get beaten in order for Beth to retain via D.Q., and then have a program with Beth constantly refusing Rosa's assistance in matches and whatnot.
(Needed to reply to my own comment to continue giving feedback >.>).
Pretty glad about Swagger going over clean, though. If they're gonna build him up as the kind of heel that I think they will, he needed a clean win over Hardy here. Great storytelling by Matt after the match, in my view, with that distraught, contemplative expression, almost like he's rethinking his career. In a way, Hardy losing the ECW belt also kind of set up him turning on Jeff later on (at least that's how I see it).
JBL/Cena was just too predictable once we got to the ref bump, 'cause you just knew HBK was gonna have to (in kayfabe terms) make the "crucial decision!" whether to help JBL or set aside his financial needs for the sake of his dignity. I agree with you, though, that they could've just left the finish as I thought it would've been (JBL going over and becoming champ due to HBK), but then again, they'll probably build this program until we end up with JBL/HBK at 'Mania. *shrug*
Hardy/Edge actually ended up being a really good match, despite the totally TNA-esque way that they suddenly changed it to No-DQ. That was my real gripe about that match, but it was well done overall. Again, though, you could kind of tell after Matt lost the ECW Title that he was gonna have something to do with this match, and, LO and BEHOLD, he's the one who bashes Jeff's brains in with a chair. However, I, too, anticipated Christian, which would've made more sense.
I mean, I think that everyone and their grandma knew that Christian is gonna return -- hell, right at the start when Jeff tried to get a "Hardy" chant going, up comes this chant of "WE WANT CHRISTIAN!!" drowning out all the Hardy marks. But anyway, it kinda became predictable that there would be some other interference spot after Chavo got taken out, but then...we get Matt Hardy. Don't get me wrong, I think that the jealous brother angle could work... (more to come)
...now that both Hardys have come into their own, but the way I see it, Vinnie Mac knew that the fans wanted Christian, and threw the Matt Hardy monkey wrench into those hopes. Again, no disrespect to Matt, but I'm starting to think that Vince is gonna make the writers completely drag out the possible Christian return like they did with Jericho's return back in '07. At any rate, well-worked match, and, again, great storytelling on Edge and Matt's part post-chair-shot. Nicely done overall.
Honestly, I think the Rumble could've been better. I think at one point, we had, like, 13/14/15 guys in the ring all at once? I was just thinking, "SOMEBODY TOSS OUT THE DAMN MIDCARDERS!!" Anyway, Santino Marella doing the Warlord spot (and ironically, beating his Rumble record for the shortest time in there) was fucking HILARIOUS, and, if anyone character was gonna get that kind of dubious honor, it'd have to be Santino. He's so fucking over, it's not even funny anymore (or maybe it is...).
Another nice spot was Rey Mysterio getting almost-eliminated for the umpteenth time, and actually using the already-eliminated Miz and Morrison as stepping stones to get back up the ring steps and back into the match. However, Rey's only angle recently was with Mike Knox, which, to me, doesn't really constitute Rey being #1. If anything, I probably would've had Rey enter right before/after Knox to continue their feud, since I think this one will go 'til No Way Out.
The Legacy ganging up on people in the match to make it easier for Randy Orton wasn't a surprise, but it was a nice touch. Somehow, though, I knew the final two were gonna be Triple H and Randy Orton, since those two were really the focal points of their brands (outside of the world title feuds, anyway), so it made sense, even if Orton and Triple H were the "final two" only for the split second after Rhodes/DiBiase got tossed out before Orton won the whole shebang.
The big angle on Raw now is gonna be Orton being "unfireable" since he's guaranteed a 'Mania match, though I see a sub-feud with Stephanie McMahon heading into No Way Out. What I'd kind of like to see is Shane come in and maybe pinning the blame on Orton punting Vince on Steph, since he himself said that, with Steph in charge, Raw would be ruined -- that, to me, was a hint that something "bad" would happen, and, lo and behold, under Steph's watch, Vince gets his brains kicked out by Orton.
I thought the ECW Championship match was about average, Divas match was a little weak because Melina didn't get much offense, WHC wasn't great but crucial to storyline development, Hardy/Edge was a great match and had a very good ending, and the Rumble was smartly booked for the most part, and I liked Orton winning. I was afraid Triple H would win but thankfully he didn't
Honestly, I saw Orton coming. Not just because of the whole "Orton punt-kicking Vince" thing (which looked pretty damn stiff to me), but also because it leaked that tonight on Raw, Rev Theory's probably gonna show up and play "Voices" live, and I'm assuming that it's going to cue Orton's entrance to a match, which, really, to me, they'd only do for someone they're gonna push or are already pushing, i.e., Orton. Hence, Orton won the Rumble, and really, I can see Orton winning the WHC at 'Mania.
i agree with you on the matt/jeff storyline. it would have made more sense if they would have brought in christian but hopefully they make something good out of it.

Very true bro, umaga vs. undertaker would've been a much greater draw. Rather than the dry taker/show rivalry from the last 5 months.
