@egodiegoego Although you're right that there were no triple-triple combinations...you have to look at the circumstances. Peggy was right that we the Americans needed to worry about the triple-triple jump combinations from Arakawa and some of the other competitors like Slutskaya. But...since Arakawa skated after Sasha Cohen...and knew Sasha skated poorly, she didn't need all of those triple-triple combinations to win otherwise she probably would have attempted them!

@elaria6 I don't think Shizuka was going for the win in Torino--just a medal. She skated before Irina, who also could have pulled out a 3-3. Lucky for Shizuka, Irina had a meltdown, giving her the gold.

Fantastic skating!

There used to be a very nice video of Arakawa skating with her dog. It was taken off youtube. Sadly. The dog was so cute, you could tell he enjoyed it skating with Shizuka.

peggy. wrong again. not only the americans did not face the triple triple challenge at the olympics, but moreover, there were no triple triple combinations in the 3 performances that madethe podium. it was all about artistry and jumping well.
