The brain is still attached to the tentacles and the eyes, and for a creature like this, decapitation is a relatively slow death. That squid could live for a few more hours like that.

@aishahona1 Actually it's not JUST nerves, it's ALL the nerves. He cut off the organs, but the brain is actually located between the eyes, so essentially he just decapitated the squid. The brain is still attached to the tentacles and the eyes, and for a creature like this, decapitation is a relatively slow death. That squid could live for a few more hours like that.
In hideous pain of course. To kill the squid, he should put that knife right between the eyes and scramble the brain.

I know veggies feel pain too, the difference is the way they are treated. Animals are sentient beings and feel pain and fear ( as far as I know veggies don't feel fear), and are treated like things. If you treat a vegetable in a bad way it'll rot, that's why they're looked after a lot better. If that's what you meant.
