I dont have a clue what all the rage is about. I own a 360, and honestly I wouldn't care if the Xbox had this game, I love the series, but if it were on the Xbox what would be the issue with having an extra disk? All I would have to do is just put it in and bam. I'm back onto the game, just like with the first game.

They would have tripled the sales if it was on the 360. 2 disc would have been fine. Ps3 takes forever to load mgs4 in the beginning and every act anyway....

MGS4 is 33GB's. With the new disc format it can fit on 3 discs. Take 10.8GB with 20% compression and you get 13.01GB times on one disc times that by 3 and you get 39.03GB's.
@XboxKittyProductions no, it was compressed to 50, why would it be compressed to 30, if it hasnt even reached it limits, plus, the game has uncompressed dolby digital 8.1 audio, and thousands of assests, longest game you will ever play.

@topografer Well acturally MGS4 is compressed 50 gigabytes. a xbox 360 disc has 8 gb, but 2 is used for security. MGS4 uncompressed (like it would be on the 360) would be about 60 gb. 6 goes into 60 10 times. but each disc would need essential data like physics and graphics engine that would take about 4 gigabytes, so that means each disc would only have about 2 gb for the actual game missions. So it would actually take about 20 discs or more.

But with scaled down textures and cut scenes (similar to FF13) i think if MGS 4 would be released on xbox it would be 5 discs at most... I like gears and halo more than any exclusive (yes even uncharted), but i also like god of war 3 and MGS 4 very very much, plus ps3 has even more... So yes lately i like ps3 more.. I think most people who say the game was bad either never played the 1-3, or thought there were too many cut scenes. This part in particular brought up good memories of MGS1, so I ended up buying it on eBay. Yeah I still play it lol.

Dual layered DVDs are 8.7 (maximum, they're by average 8.5).
Let's do it with math:
45.50/8.7=5.22988506
So they have two solutions:
1.Release it on SIX discs, since they can't just throw away the extra space.
2.Downgrade the graphics a little bit so it can fit 5 discs instead of using a 70% empty 6th disc, it's a more possible choice.
Anyway Otacon was referring to MGS on PS1, not Xbox 360...

When I first put MGS4 into my PS3, I was all "yeah!" then it installed and I was all "WTF?!?!?!" whilst it had white text on a black background for 15 minutes warning me about screenburn (irony, huh?)

Every time I play it though, I always become more and more intrigued in the story/history of Metal Gear Solid. But if you think it was a bad game, you're fucked :/

I think most people who say the game was bad either never played the 1-3, or thought there were too many cut scenes. This part in particular brought up good memories of MGS1, so I ended up buying it on eBay. Yeah I still play it lol.

@eliteninja23 it's not that bad but its an annoyance and does feel weird, most people would rather have ps3 cause blu ray discs can take almost literally 3.5 times the gigs that a standard dvd-r can, which means developers have more space, still though i own both and love both

Hehe, it's a funny joke indeed. Being a 360 owner, I'm a huge fan of MGS (went back and played them all except for 4) and I can't wait for Rising! Also getting a PS3 for Guns of the Patriots...I didn't have a lot of money before but I'm finally set now, which means I'll get the best of both worlds (PS3 and 360!) Whoo! So excited :]

@Xenophobia12 it IS real. Ive played it. BUT, it dose not prove anything. Like many other games on the 360, they could have just made 2 discs. The xbox is more than capable of running MGS4. Its just that the chinese and japanese are love sony. I appeal to the console that seems to have the most future.

For anyone that doesn't know the order of the story, it's Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid(or Twin Snakes), Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Rising, and then Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots. Apparently Rising isn't supppose to lead up to MGS4 also btw. Hope I helped you noobs.
