  • ¡Espectacular!

  • Comment removed

  • @sdmitch16 Yeah I think so, this is what I thought of when I heard this.

  • @sdmitch16 Yes...kinda. "The film score was written by noted klepto-composer James Horner, who cleverly appropriated Raymond Scott's "Powerhouse" in approx. 17 scenes, without crediting Scott. Disney was threatened with a lawsuit by Scott's publishers, and after a year of negotiation, the matter was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. Although the film's screen credits were not revised, the film's cue sheets (music logs) were revised to reflect a dozen or so uses of "Powerhouse.""

  • @Thorpe thx thope

  • this reminds me of the breakfast making contraption

  • Why can i not get McMurder on youtube anymore?

  • NOT HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

  • this reminds me of tom and jerry

  • Looney toons....XD

  • This is what you hear when I'm thinking.

  • can you get this version of the song on itunes

  • GET ON TO THE BUS

THAT'S GONNA TAKE YOU BACK TO BEELZEBUB

  • WTF how is it possible that 22 people can be so ignorant of industry in these modern times of ours??

  • Simpsons :)

  • @brookave250 - It is indeed Powerhouse, it was originally by Raymond Scott.

  • whats the exact name of this theme? its not power house. I like to load as my ringtone.

  • @brookave520 Powerhouse has 2 "movements" in the whole tune. They were often used separately of each other in cartoons, the first movements during busy machine segments, and the second one (portrayed in this video) more often during "Rube Goldberg device" moments.

So while you might think they're different songs, they're actually 2 parts to a whole piece. Hope that clears it up. =)

  • @brookave520 yes it is.

  • @halfacre06 This is a common song not only used in production line like commercials such as what credit card companies sometimes do but also with those old 50s cartoons, a.k.a merrygold cartoons of the Tex Avery Cartoons...God I miss that old shit.

The whistling wolf was awesome; how could these CEO not like that fellow? We should all aspire to that level of aggression.

Wear zoot suits too, you're likely to swipe a swanky ginger off the stage!

  • Whose rendition of the song is this?

  • This is beautiful, period style animation. Very talented animators. Awesome musical

    Piece

  • Very close interpretation from cartoon meaning of this music.

  • R.I.P. Cartoon Network :/

  • @guillenroll01 Don't even get me started on how that channel fucked up with those money hungry CEO assholes that clearly have no idea about how to run a channel.

  • BEST.

  • ha i always thought Rush's La Villa Strangiato was based off of this

  • Starting at 0:34, an homage to the classic Cartoon Network logo, perhaps?

  • Well FINALLY I looked for this song.

  • I have been trying to figure out what this song was for... as long as I can remember. Whew :D

  • Don't forget, guys...check out "La Villa Strangiato" by Rush!! It no doubt has this cartoon inspired riff & big band flavor toward it's end!

  • E que nota você tirou?

  • sounds like starwars music, sounds like star wars cantina music

  • I looked everyweres, where can I download?

  • What is the song during the credits?

  • @fkgomezU It's a different segment of the same song. I think Fungeek376 was correct in saying that it is the intro.

  • This made me smile. What wonderful music, and the elegant clean lines of the animation complement it perfectly. Bravo! Thanks for posting.

  • thank you very much!!!!i've finally found it... i've always love this song!

  • what recording is this?

  • Does anyone know how I can get this as my ringtone? And also, start it at the 0:15 second mark?

  • I swear this looks exactly like the opening titles to some 50's animated movie. Fantastic work.

  • This is the coolest thing on the entire Internet. 22 dislikes? Jesus Christ.

It'd be better if it were longer. (That's what she said).

  • does anyone else imagine a construction site when they hear this?

  • @watcherguy7337 all that is missing is the construction workers whistling at the girls passing by...

  • @watcherguy7337 i remember a construction site with I beams being hauled around while an indifferent

infant crawls blithely over threatening machinery... maybe it was 'swee'pea' from popeye?

  • It's things like this which make me really appreciate tools like Flash or Synfig Studio. Creative things which demonstrate how simple animations which are now so trivial to do in Flash can be so powerful when crafted by a truly creative individual.

  • ah, lets get manufacturing!

  • Nice animation !

You might have been inspired by Oskar Fischinger's work ? It's great !

Etude n°7, Composition in blue or Allegretto are just amazing

  • What is the song at the very end during the credits?

  • @ABHorsfield powerhouse...hahah

  • @ABHorsfield The music at the end is the first movement of "Powerhouse". The more famous "mechanical" part is the mid-section. Search for "Raymond Scott + Powerhouse" on Youtube. There are several versions of the complete composition on-line.

  • Who else thinks of a factory while listing to this

  • @cod5x I hum this while I work. One of my managers complained to me about it, saying that he kept expecting Daffy Duck to come up from behind him with a frying pan. (He's now in a different department,)

  • Have to say I loved this short, evokes such powerful memories of 40's and 50's Hollywood cartoons. Great choice of music too!

  • great song, great animation, great video.

  • This is the best version of this song... No disrespect...with the most perfect animation that really puts the music into visual. Wow. 5 stars!! Damn Fucking crazy brasilians are talented mother fuckers!!

  • I want this song :(

  • This is awesome! Why not pass it on Newgrounds? You'll definitely get featured!

  • watch while high

  • Love the animations! Thank you!

  • When we played this song at our factory over the PA, it increased production 20%.

  • I was the first commenter on this video! And I still absolutely love it!

  • It's sad, but I always think of Rush's "La Villa Strangiato" when I hear this.

  • Very nice animation.

    Which school is this for?

  • This music goes thru my head anytime I'm stuck doing repetitive tasks at work...

  • I suddenly want this as my screensaver.

  • do you have the mp3?

  • Is this Carl W. Stalling's version? It sounds just like the arrangement heard in Looney Tunes.

  • i like it its like a factory song

  • @speednick0 I always think of Powerhouse as the "Rube Goldberg score"

Just because anytime a complicated Rube Goldberg device was used in a Looney Tunes cartoon they'd play the Powerhouse piece.

  • A variation of this was used in Madness Combat 3, in case you were wondering

  • Is anybody, ANYBODY else out there reminded of Utsuho Reiuji's theme (from the game Touhou Project 11: Subterranean Animism) by this song?

  • 19 people loved this video but have bad aim :\

  • Well played animation

    *Warning*

    Side effects may include;

    Nostalgia

    Mind hurt

    Desire to build.

if the third symptom persists after one hour, please see a doctor.

  • where did you get the song?

  • Anyone know the name of the sad song they play on looney tunes when bugs bunny met the devil it goes dun dun dun dun

  • Why does this song remind me of a working factory?

  • where can i get this a ringtone?

  • Cartoon Network

  • I work in Flash, and I thought it was great. You chose a very "animated" piece of music, but kept the art within a simple shape and color idea.

  • In 20111, Cartoon Network Reuses The PowerHouse Era!

  • For what was this a theme song for? Familiar.

  • nice style

  • When could I download this song, tell me please!

  • What the? Cartoon Network

  • @LuigiMario98982 Loonytunes used this song for their Rube Goldberg machine sequences.

  • @CSDragon31 and during '98-2004 CN used it in bumpers.

  • I'm telling you, just play this over the speakers in a factory, effort jumps 200 percent.

  • Man, I've always wondered what the name of this song was.

  • Kinda reminds me of the intro to Monsters, Inc.

  • i was so expecting this song to play when i saw Clash of the titans

  • This isn't the entire song/composure the actual one is a bit slower, and has some saxaphone break ins. Also this tune is used in so many Warner brothers cartoons. Usually used with monsters or aliens. Watch animaniacs toy shop of horror. It has the entire composure in a cartoon.

  • Nice typeface, what's that style called?

  • The font used for the credits reminds me of Batman: The Animated Series.

  • @chowdown That's because that IS the BTAS font. It's called PlazaDReg. :)

  • This is the song we play over the PA in our factory. Since then, production has increased 25%.

  • @circusitch for real? lol

  • @circusitch How could it not? This song is just too uplifting and enlightening to not result in this process.

The whole song itself is a subliminal messege to make people work harder and faster while happy at hearing the music.

Not bad if you ask me.

  • wicked!

  • What's the song at the credits?

Oh, btw, nice animation. Love the music, keep hearing it on Looney Tunes.heehee

  • That's the beginning of Powerhouse. This vid starts in the middle of the song.

  • xD that's another part in this song, "Powerhouse" its before this part what you hear in the beginning of this vid.

Just look for "Powerhouse", you'll see

  • Speaking on Looney Tunes, this has a very strong later-chuck-jones-feeling in it. I dig it.

  • This song makes me want to build some crazy invention.

  • What's that bit of music at the end there during the closing credits?

  • Is the same song.

Just a different part of it.

  • Attention! Looney Tunes RETURNED TO CARTOON NETWORK ON NOVEMBER 15, 2009 and they come on MONDAY-FRIDAY at 11:00 AM/10:00 AM c.

  • They always played this song on the old Cartoonetwork bumpers, I really miss the old Cartoonetwork. :'(

  • One of my favorite cartoon songs ever

  • wtf? "an error occured"? every time, in every browser that I use.. that's annoying. >:(

  • brilliant

  • Nice...BTW, most of this is Powerhouse B (Powerhouse A is the faster one).

  • I miss the old Cartoon Network.

  • THAT'S where I remember it from!

and yeah, I don't mind the fact that mum stopped getting cable tv because cartoon network sucks now..

  • i had so much memories of that with my Grandparents. i miss it.

  • @ECDT1089 we all do. now there these baby channels i grew up watching the coyote explode, daffey get blackened, elmer be out smarted, and bugs win, even boomerang doesn't show this stuff. i miss it and i only had it for 5 years before they got rid of it.

  • @ECDT1089 no children will ever have a childhood as good as kids like who grew up in the 90's and i'm proud to say that

  • @trickassbitchmark exactly!

  • @ECDT1089 damn those were the days man

  • This is GREAT. Thanks a lot for posting this clip, I've also looking for this soundtrack forever.

  • CLOSURE! AT LAST! I've been looking for this song forever...

  • same

  • Yes! I've been wondering what this song is called for decades!

  • Same here, the hall of the mountain king and this song have been on my "find or die" list for a long time.

  • @dalereidy Couldn't relate to you more!

  • i remember this song on a simpsons episode

  • i can somewhat recall it being in one of their openings while they are being manufactured on an assembly line

  • it's in the process after-bowling

  • Where did you find that version ? Sounds great !

  • It was from Space Jam.

  • Nice!!

  • There was one cartoon, where the whole episode was just a factory. I forget what it was called.

  • IIRC, it was used in a few different cartoons. The one that jumps to mind was the one with the mice who made shoes, who yelled "Rumpelstiltskin!" to save themselves from being eaten by a cat. I could be wrong about the plot- I haven't seen it in decades- but I'm pretty sure Powerhouse was in there.

  • It's also used whenever the big, mean bulldog is marching down the block to beat the crap out of Sylvester the cat.

  • Good one =)

    Classic, but 2 short though...

  • The animation works well for the piece, and decoupling the outline from the fill gives it a real period feeling.

  • very cool!

  • Sounds like Danny Elfman.

  • You are incorrect, sir or ma'am. Danny Elfman sounds like THIS!

  • Yep. This song was written in the 40's I think, before Danny was even born.

  • 1937. The composer was Raymond Scott. Many great WB cartoons featured it.

  • Who Framed Roger Rabbit? I think they used it once there.

  • I play this while re loading ammo in my garage.

  • Dammit... I knew someone, somewhere, was living out my dreams... :(

  • Lol, that last block is like "Aww, I missed it?"

Great animation, I love this piece.

  • Great animation, makes me think of Oskar Fischinger. Fun to watch!

  • I love this song! Also, the animation goes great with the tune, captures the feel quite nicely.

  • Awesome! I've been looking for this song forever!

  • Terrific animation, Antonio. Did you use Flash?

Also really nice music selection... Stallings into Scott.

  • Hi there Robert, thanks!

Yes, it's entirely done in Flash.

  • oh and congratulations by the way, this is awesome!!

  • when i get this song on itunes or internet or watever it sounds different, but how come on this, (and on that simpson episode with this song) it sounds like its sped up and better, is this a different version or somehting or is it just....sped up?

  • Hi Jack,

Actually this version of "Powerhouse" I used is not played by Raymond Scott himself - which is slower - but performed by Carl Stalling, you should look for this one.

    Thanks for your comment!

  • @antoniolin Been looking everywhere on the net, can't find it :(

    Where'd you get it from?

  • PLEASE listen to more RAYMOND SCOTT MUSIC; there are a couple more "looney" tunes you will recognize, and just a lot of brilliant musicianship.

  • Yeah, I've been a huge fan of this tune since childhood, and never had a clue what it was. Excellent!

Interestingly enough, I don't listen to much jazz, but the few jazz numbers I like I *adore* (mostly the big band/swing era stuff). Maybe I should get into it more...

  • definately should!

  • Wait a minute. . .they use this all the time on Looney Tunes. . .whenever there's a mechanical or industry-type theme going on in the background.

Sweet, I always wondered who did these songs.

  • very nice syncing and design!

Are you a Gagne fan by any chance?

  • This is Great vamp music for a stage play... scene change etc.

  • Eu adoro esse vídeo.

  • to grodaSA...

the font is "promenade". you need to use lower case to get the "P" to look like that as upper case is more elaborate.

if you like the art deco look of that font, try "astute" & "anastasia" too.

  • way cool! you REALLY capture the "retro look" of 1950s & 60s animation! if one didn't know better, they might think it was the opening titles to an old movie.

interesting interpretation of ray scott's classic too. just popping in to see what's up as i was in the middle of listening to sid bass' "bachelor pad" interpretation.

kudos on the playful & authentic animation! well done!

  • Gods, this has always been one of my favourite songs...but I never knew what it was called until now!

  • I knew what song it was while the page loaded, just from the title. AWESOME!

  • Excellent song and animation!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • What font is that?

  • Wow, that is absolutely brilliant! Well done!

  • Thank you so much for posting this song! And I love the animation, it is very well done for such a project. Quite mesmerizing!

  • It's not synchronized for me at all.

  • FODA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Maravilloso!!!Obrigado!!!!

  • lol

  • Great job.

  • Wow - that's tight . I was preparing for something lame and this thing showed up . Totally impressive - a beautiful abstraction .
