How do you do a Hadoken on the Sega Saturn controller?

I just remember loving the game mainly because of the complex controls (PS1). I remember that, for the Hadoken, you had to press stuff like down + up + square, but you have to time the button presses correctly, so I ended up just shoving these three buttons in a random manner and there was a great feeling in successfully doing a Hadoken.
