  • SEGA's version sucked. I like turbographx cd better.

  • the arcade game had a few more levels than the genesis/megadrive version...don't know if that applied to the pc engine game since it was more arcade accurate.

  • This game was the reason that I bought a Turbo-Duo system back in the day!

  • my all time favourite wonderboy game x

  • I've never played the arcade vesion. Only the Megadrive version. Too bad the Megadrive vesion wasn't this good.

  • Ah I remember this I played it in a pub near me i got to the final boss and died and it automatically goes to game over regardless how many credits you have grr, I literally went back later and went through it all again and finished it lol.

  • Is this the game where one of the bosses is like a giant bee or something? If it is, I vaguely recall loving the hell out of it.

  • I love this game. They need more Wonderboy in today's gaming world.

  • I totally agree. And if they do, I just pray they don't turn it into some fucked-up blood and guts bullshit.

  • I LOVED this game as a kid. I still do. I've spent a shitload of money on it ;)

  • Beat WB I and II, liked to play it back in the 80ies Arcade Halls.

  • this isnt the megadrive version is it? That was one of my favourite games with great music.

If you like the music ive uploaded it to my page check it out

  • This is the Arcade version. The Mega Drive port is awesome too though! I already have some mp3s from the Arcade version, but thanks for the offer man.

  • This Game was just an Bad Idea it was only a decent and the picture that runs with you cou have go with the Picture was really annoying. It had nothing to do with any of the other Wonderboy Games and it could be considered as the worst Wonderboy Game it is also a shame that Sega brought MCD/32X/Saturn/Dreamcast but noone of them had any sequel of Wonderboy even now they didn`t make a Sequel.

  • It was a spinoff title in the vein of the original Wonder Boy, but lacked RPG elements if that's what you mean. I think it's still pretty fun in 2-player.

  • If you think about it, this game plays much more similarly to the original Wonder Boy game than any other game in the series.

(Certainly more than "Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap", I'd say)

  • This game gets alot of undeserved flak. The adventure RPG part of the series is more popular but this game certainly had it's charms. It was one of the last forced scrolling platformers. It was a bit of a throwback even when it was released in the early 90's.

  • I agree. I thought it was a really fun game, but then I noticed people trash the game, which was surprising. To me at least.

  • You're right. This game is like Super Mario Bros. 2. They didn't have their type of gameplay, but they were still fun!

  • The arcade original is a bit badly balanced but they sorted it out for the MD port. The sprite design is really cute and the music in the later levels is fantastic. I absolutely adore the end theme. Probably my favourite videogame music ever. The hard mode is really fair and balanced. There are different enemies than normal mode and trying to familiarise yourself with all the different movement patterns takes plenty of practice.

  • compared to the first one and the even greater sequel this sucks donkey balls...

  • IMO the worst wonderboy game ever
