With all due respects to Johny Dodds, who was one of the best clarinetists we'll ever hear, this particular recording was an unfortunate lapse--to put it bluntly, it sucks.
I've been listening to jazz since I was akid but can never find myself listening to this type. I only heard this watching "TOM & JERRY". Im just starting to get into jazz from the 1930's and before. And it's crazy because I'm a musician. I guess as I get older and my knowledge of music grows I appreciate the beautiful beggings of jazz and blues.
And still the same one year later?????!!!!!

Great clarinet-sounds of a pure genius.
Carinet Wobble, Johnny Dodds Trio, apr.21,1927
Lil Armstrong, piano, Bud Scott, guitar.
Fantastic finish: Sobbin' Blues, King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band with Louis Armstrong and the famous breaks of the cornets...
