  • it's ghost

  • FLIR is brilliant thing

  • British troops American technology :)

  • What if a bird craps on the camera?

    Just sayin'.....

  • 'SMAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!'

Thumbs up if you agree with the above wisdom.

  • Maybe I've been playing too much Modern Warfare but he actually sounded like Gaz a little..... definitely been playing too much. lol

  • Does anybody know the name of the documentary this is from?

  • Notice the face at the end of the video?

  • That is the coolest "Smack!" I have ever heard.

  • whatever way you put them in it still comes out as algeria,33 12' 03"N,04 1' 02"E shows algeria 33.1203N,04.102E shows algeria,is there something we dont know, something strange here.

  • @fuzzmeister13 It's not Lat & Long it's a Grid Ref. simple.

  • @RonnieJamesable Its a UTM Grid Reference

  • @OChristie Universal Transverse-Mercator? Crikey, I haven't written that since School of Maritime Operations, HMS Dryad 10 ten years ago!!

  • @RonnieJamesable Im pretty sure they use UTM-GR because its Universal, i.e Yanks wont fuck up and bomb the wrong location, we use UTM-GR on operations if working with foreign personnel for that reason.......or so im told ;)

  • @OChristie

    lat & long

    UTMG

    Universal Polar Stereographic Grid

    Cartesian Co-ordinate Grid ( Red 1, Blue 7 etc, etc )

These are certainly used by the RN, RM, RAF, British Army and every NATO ( and ANZAC ) force I ever had the privilege of working with amongst others. So I utterly concur with you.

Google Earth Lat & Longs to prove fallacious conspiracies, indeed. Ha!

  • @RonnieJamesable Its nice to see someone with a bit of sense on here :) Pleasure to have met you :) Ex-RM

  • @OChristie Cheers Royal

Plenty of bonedomes out there writing like their XBox's are as edifying as The Bottom Field or erm, well, the RN doesn't really have anywhere as tough as the Bottom Field at Lympstone since we ditched the Field Gun, but you get what I mean shippers...

  • still shows algerian desert with coordinates given on radio

  • Nice work if you can get it!

  • Position of engagement by those co-ordinates is in Western Iraq close to Toliahah.

  • smack :D

  • I'm guessing their position is in relation to some other position, because if you put those coordinates in Google Maps you end up in Algeria...

  • check the format you enter the numbers. eg deg' min' sec' format will be different to decimal degrees format. google it to find a convertor. or google using coordinates in google earth (if i remember right ha)

  • i fink there is a full documentary for this video

    were can i watch it?

  • there was a good one on a few nights ago on Sky Channel DMAX (think its channel 155?), wasnt cheesy or anything like that, it was really well made and simply titled "SAS", keep an eye out for it as its been shown on there a few times over the last 6 months and will no doubt be on again

    :-)

  • man i love that radiochatter

  • The yanks have the best airforce in the world by a mile quantity & quality it just pisses my off when there slated when a bomb goes astray, how many troops lives have they saved? i bet its in the thousands

  • At least the SAS can rely on US air power for an airstrike.

The RAF has been so badly mauled by British politicinas over so many years it can't support our own troops in this way.

  • @Butchuk2007 they are cordinated, the airbase who are closed are what they use, the british pilots are also used by others, like navy seals ect.

  • @Butchuk2007

Just like the Germans, "funny". Our soldiers would be fucked without US/Coalition air assets...

  • I'm an american and I say thank god for the brits and the aussies..they're the only others i'd trust my ass to..whowa

  • that london accent of sas officer. sound familiar? i could swear thats mcnab. listen to it then go to another vid hes speaking in.

    prob wrong but sounds similar!

  • His unit, Bravo Two Zero, was on a covert mission so didn't call-in any airstrikes. Great clip though - "SMACK!"

  • you think the b20 mission was the only one he was on in desertstorm? doubtful. like i said, it sounds an awful lot like him. but you do get alot of londoners aswell as scots in the sas.

  • actually, B20 was the only 'mission' 'McNab' took part in during the Gulf war, nor was he an officer, he was NCO. he then spent some time as a POW. furthermore, the callsign D21 means the unit in particular would have been from D squadron. that should clear things up.

  • yep..i read bravo 2 zero..goddamn TACBE's and whatnot failing. they were in shit as soon as they got dropped off..reallyshit intel. im surprised they lasted as long as they did..mind you they got quite unlucky as well

  • voice in COD4

  • London accent? It isn't a london accent. Not only are there many many accents in the UK (yes UK not just England) but there are many cities, towns, and villages in the UK. London is just one place, albeit a very large place.

  • that is a london accent im a essex boy i should no probly north london

  • LOL to the armchair soldiers here. fffuck off.

  • we take the piss out of the american army because you are disorgernised and gun hoe. Too many friendly fire accidents on our troops. Your troops need less whooping and showing off and more thinking about the job in hand. Apart from that you yanks are good guys.

  • Can you give examples of how the American military is not doing jobs given to them by the American public and the president?

  • BTW why don't learn how to spell"disorganized" and "gung ho" before you try to disrespect other people's competence

  • Cool footage. Not often you hear them in action.

  • i wouldnt trust my self with us troops there trigger happy

  • I was in the US 24th Marine Expeditionary unit operating in Helmand Province - I came out in march last. we were operating in close quarters with the british SAS who quite frankly scared us to death. we are trained to kill and we do very well but the SAS are just killing machines and i,m glad there on our side.

  • In reply to sceet, (I'm British) this is only because the size of the British armed forces is nowhere near as big as the U.S, but what we lack in numbers we make up in training, it has to be.

  • Right, Britain and usa are a very strong fighting force but british troops are better trained and are more disciplined

  • litebrite your country wastes men you use them like ants lost 4000 men you have lost like 2000 any way you have lost more killed in 9/11 your countrys troops are badly trained and your goverment uses them as ants its sad

  • Your country is full of arrogant pricks who can't come to terms with loss of superpower status it once enjoyed.our troops are highly trained and accomplish every mission the American people assign them.Your attitude is born out of jealousy nothing else.

  • I am sure the irony of your post is not lost on anyone with a level head on either side of the pond. Generalisations such as yours are the weapon of choice for the ignorant something you demonstrate with alacrity. I am sure your parents are really proud of you and I urge you to keep posting as your fellow ignoramuses will take comfort in every word you utter.

  • ..and you're just as bad as our American friend!

  • I wrote what I wrote because I am tired of Brits who trash and ridicule the American military. Be warned,if you do it, expect return fire from me.

  • And what are you going to return fire with, a CHEESEBURGER lol. Nobodys trying to ridicule the American forces u fool, fair enoyugh the U.S have carried out a few blue on blues but they have saved more coalition forces from the air, they deserve credit for that.

  • Every other military in the world has had blue on blue incidents during major combat operations.Every military expert in the world agrees that these incidents are inevitable. Just like the use of automobiles will lead to fatal automobile accidents.

  • Yes thats absolutley right, and obviousley the more intense the theatre of war happens to be then the more likley ther is for friendly fire incidents to occur. Its just that thers always happens to be a lot of press when such incidents take place, if it wasnt for the air power the ground operations would be fucked, only a small % of the air strikes result in friendly casualties.

  • Look at any video on youtube that showcases the American military, and you will see Brit comments ridiculing the American military. I am not hallucinating.

  • I understand what you are saying but that is not the general thinking of the british people, I have watched many videos and read about how greatful the British army are to have U.S planes above them, they spoke of being saved on numerous occasions by the skill of the American pilots. There are just some people on youtube who talk shit for the sake of it.

  • You and I are cool then

  • Where was this supposed to be? Iraq or Bosnia?

  • there's always info for every video in youtube dood

  • thanks dood

  • Mate, I joined the Army at 16 as a Junior Leader, most of the guys I met have died. Fuck knows what I was thinking when I posted that message, I know the Americans are good lads. We work together as the Allies we are.

  • I guess you would consider laying low in basra, a hevt work load...fag

  • America and Britain together!! No whose better bullshit!!

  • bollacks, we're operating behing En lines, you fuckers just fly your planes and most of the time you fuck that up. We have the heavy work load -and we're happy with that. The Americans are simply unable to do most jobs. Back in Jan in a lecture in London an American Officer came with a big revelation --that their new tactics --actually trying for hearts and minds is their new found wisdom ! Never been done before ! Fucking novices.

  • I tried to make nice, and you would not have it.How has Britain born the heavy fighting in Iraq? We have lost 4,000 men, and you have lost less than 200.Similar numbers in Afghanistan. Explain how you have the "heavy" workload? BTW I know Yorkshire has a lot of dope fiends.Does the shoe fit?

  • hmm. losing less soldiers is a better thing. WE have put in very heavy fighting, we just arent as stupid and lose men by silly mistakes. Also, Punk was right about you fucking up with planes, you always seem to aim on your own guys or on us brits

  • you lost less men and accomplished less than American forces. We secured the most dangerous areas and took on the toughest insurgents and defeated them. You had an easy ride in Basra and messed that up

  • (im british) well i think you have a point with that one, frankly its alot less secure. but thats cos the uk government cut a deal with the local militias so there was a "turn a blind eye" policy by uk forces. not widely touted by the gov. for obvious reasons, but lets face it the whole iraq thing was a farce. so as long as it gets our boys home sooner i dont care

  • LiteBrite65, don't take notice of what that other guy said. Britain and the US - One hell of a fighting force.

  • Thank you.The only thing any citizen of any country should be concerned about is whether their armed forces can carry out the missions the nations needs them to carry out,not comparing them to other countries armies

  • I agree. The problem is too many Brits ridicule the American military; Why?

  • LITEBRITE65 you seem to be intelligent but the rest of the americans on youtube give you a bad name because there so far up there areses they have no clue about history or the army and say things liKE WOOWOO US IS HE BSET AND EVRYONE ELSE IS SHIT this is why we mock americans becasue they make unintelligent comments and act stupid all the time about evry single fukgin subject its so anoying. .

  • Whatever video i go on youtube ther always liek US IS BETTER THEN (Subject on the video). and have no respect for anyone else

  • problem is, most americans (mostly teenagers) think they have the best special forces in the world not realising or knowing that the SAS trained Delta and the SBS trained navy seals americas special forces are just a few they trained

  • The most (teenagers) are educated by computer games. And they think the special forces of the own country is always the best ...

  • And then you go and essentially do the same thing, mate. As do a lot of YOUR countrymen on YouTube. So why not give it a rest rather than rationalize YOUR contribution of over-generalizations. News flash: idiots occur everywhere. Generalizations are for the simple-minded.

  • wow thats really cool!

  • Liverpudlian accents talking to a texan, Brilliant! well done lads!

  • Liverpudlian? Er, in my head it wasn't!

  • I suppose so, but you what I mean!

  • Well thanks for that padbrit.Good to see your winding your neck in. However I do believe you said this was an Exercise in waltfinding.Hence my attitude towards you.Anyway its done and dusted.

  • Padbrit, you are the walt I do believe.Where in any of my post did I say or even hint I was SF?I am not, just a serving soldier in the army. You my little mucker are.The fact you use the term ''them'' suggests your a walt. Its not a term used in the army. As for arrse, mate I have been there and done it,I have been a memeber on arrse for 3 years. Now I suggest you run along to read your army comics and leave the soldiering to us.

  • Hello subthomas, you want to lighten up a bit my friend. The only way I learn is by asking questions. If I am wrong then i am happy to admit it, which appears to be the case here.

  • Padbrit you are talking out of your ass mate.A FOO is ARTY .Nothing to do with a FAC/JTAC.

  • s.a.s are the best

  • FAC - Forward Air Controller, ie the guy in the shit. No idea what a FOO is sorry.

Fecking good vid, really good example of how the US and UK forces can work together.

Professional, to the point, little extra chatter. excellent work. Very impressive.

  • FOO = FORWARD OBESERVER OFFICER.

  • FOO? stop talking bollocks he was an FAC ,a FOO is arty.

  • FOO Forward Observation Officer. FAC Forward Air Controller. ARRSE says The FAC is a God amongst mortals, also known as a FOO. He is usually a Captain. His job is to co-ordinate ALL the indirect fire in a fire plan to support an attack, defence or whatever.

  • Mate please get your facts right.I get peed off with guys like you talking balls.FAC is not usually a CAPT he is not a FOO either.FOO's are arty

  • Why does ARRSE the British Army Rumour Service say so in its dictionary then?

  • Hello subthomas, just as an exercise in Waltfinding, could you post your Regiment and full service career etc. We will understand if you do not post, we know that "Them" like to keep a low profile.

  • School boy.

  • Boys I have been reading some the crap you lads have been posting. I control A/C from the ground in combat I am british and I tell you what we use more cowboy terms than any US airmen/soldiers. The USAF US MARINES and USN are very very good. Dont talk about a topic you have no clue about. ''In hot''

  • The next time any of you have a thought....let it go.Spare us please!!

  • Who dares wins, the SAS are the bravest men in the world. BE PROUD

  • UC15, all Armed Forces from across the globe make mistakes, it's just the US is world renowned for making the most. I'm not denying the British military haven't made them, but there's so many incidents of the US messing things up, and killing innocent people and allied soldiers, nobody really likes to work with them that much. Yep, British troops swear, but it's all in context :)

  • Drunkenher0, NeonOAK;

I guess you guys chose to ignore the utterance of, "...bloody..." - not really common parlance among USA military aviators, especially, with a British accent.

    Grow up!

  • UC15, nope, didn't hear the word bloody. The RAF are more professional than the USAF, that's my point. The fact British troops have to work with US pilots, is why I mentioned this. 4 British soldiers killed in Afghanistan, and many wonded by US pilots. Some in Iraq too. USAF is constantly dropping bombs on wrong targets, and killing innocent people. They seriously wounded some SBS troops at Qala-i-Janghi fort, by dropping a 2000lb JDAM bomb on the wrong target.

  • neonOAK,

Then that makes you deaf as well as dumb.

And trust me, all military organizations, whether it's the RAF, SAS, USAF, or Navy SeALs have operational mistakes. Your vacuuous insults are impressive in their stunning ignorance and misguided chauvinism.

If you think that streams of 'blasphemies' don't at times gush from even the most highly trained British spec-ops warriors during combat then you're clearly delusional.

  • go for hereford

  • Listen to how professional the two SAS guys are, compared to the not-so professional US pilot. The reason the pilot said "smack" after the strike, is because the US military use cowboy phrases, rather than correct military terminology.

  • lol im british and want to be in the RAF, ive seen various videos where british airstrikes from the cockpit, when impact occurs, you hear various words like "splash" and "boom" i hate us with all my heart for dragging us into wars but the brits use phrases like that too ;)

  • JonathanLyall, sure some RAF pilots say stuff upon impact, but it's pretty subtle compared to US pilots reactions(cowboy attitude) In this clip it's clear to see the differences in professionalism anyway. I get your point, but the US is worse :)

  • who dares wins, seals? fuckin walter mitss mate havent got a fucking clue!!!!!!!

  • give it a rest with ur bitchin have either of you actually got any special forces experience till you do dont comment onm what you dont know btw 22 squadron rules

  • This American British baashing is quite funny. Both of them suck. Britian has just been a country longer so they have sucked the longest. Who gives a fuck.

  • What history books are you reading, Clipper?? SEAL team qualif.'s and USMC Wolverine Teams (SOG) have a "pass-rate" of 1.5%, meaning only 1 out-of-100 pass the quals, they're so physically and mentally terrifying, and M-A-N-Y F TROOP 22 SAS snipers and warriors have praised the SEALS and Marine SOG's as their equivalent, etc., I've met dozens of other SpecOp warriors from other countries, GEE, remember the 2 Bosnian generals/criminals that a JOINT SEAL-SAS team went in and kidnapped,

  • Its a sad day when patriotism just turns to blind ignorance of the truth.

  • Nah, na, na na, our special forces are better than yours. How old are you Gunzon, twelve? You obviously have been watching too many Hollywood Films and wanking yourself off to too many copies of "Soldier of Fortune" magazine. Get a life, you fucking "Walt"!!!!!

  • ?????????? Whats wrong with you, "padbrit", I never said anything of the sort, and save the obscene 12yr old language for someone who needs to hear it, too, not me.Had you read my post, I said that each countries SpecOp teams have vast respect for each other, and quite literally, they're all excellent in their areas, HAD YOU READ IT THRU, of course.SAS and SEALS have worked hand in hand on dozens of ops with ea other, and have nothing but praise for each others team. Jeesh, grow up.

  • you suddenly had a change of attitude, you first were saying bout the revolutionery war or some crap like that, which btw you couldnt be arsed to cross the atlantic, and now your sayin SAS n SEALS are like brothers??? you really have no clue what your talking about do you? GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

  • They probably are. They are nothing like us.

  • thank god for sense yes we are allies

are all second to non exellent fighting men.

but what use is half a man"1.50%" LOL

  • This is why the British Army is the most porfessional army in the World. No geers or slang from the British officer on the ground, just clear and direct orders. If the Americans modeled themselves on the British they'd be winning the war in Iraq

  • That's awfully hysterical, "mate", I could've sworn we SMOKED your a&^%$ in 1775 thru 1780 in the Revolutionary war, and have been "quite the Super-Power Professional Army" ourselves here in America, but leave it to you EU's to whine and insult us yanks, after we SAVED YOUR WORTHLESS BACKSIDES in 2 different world wars!!(Oh, yes I DID just say that!) Even YOUR SAS commando's admit that our SEALS and MARINE WOLVERINE ccountry down, and

  • To be honest i was expecting a reply from an ignorant twat such as yourself. We're talkin about professionalism here. NOT previous conflicts. However if u want to talk about history then "atrocity" springs to mind when the American Army is concerned. If it wasn't for the battle of Britain being won Britian would have been invaded in 1943 and there would have been no platform to assault europe. The atom bomb would have been soon developed and Hitler would of had the ENTIRE world by its balls...

  • Mate I dont know what your talking about .I have done 3 tours in Iraq, including a tour at Dogwood (FALLUJA).I have had mates killed in Iraq(basra) and your talking complete shit.I bet you have never served

  • You dont have a fucking clue, have you ever been out there or served along side us, no so shut the fuck up you immature little cunt.

  • Listen to the SAS FOO make absolutely sure that the attack aircraft know exactly where the "friendlies" are. Good OP!

  • Indeed, I hope to be a RAF Regiment TACP one day, who knows, I might even make it to SFSG, but one thing at a time. Good drills though.

  • Congratulations GlennQuagmire247 on considering a most Noble and Honorable profession, Kudos.

  • Figured I wanted to start at the bottom so I knew what being in the shit really was. Part of me would prefer to do CSAR more than TACP.

  • Good clear comms from the FOO. The pilot got a bit flustered though!

  • very cool vid mate!!
