people without dyslexia have a "pictured" mind. a dyslectic person had this to say "we dont have a cheating-window to look at when reading and writing" now, i am not dyslectic but i can imagine putting a word together would be like taking each letter at a time? people without dyslexia sees "the big picture" when reading. for example if i write "thnk yuo" my mind would probably translate that to "thank you".

I'm not sure if I have dyslexia or not. This has recently begun to occur. I have found myself to look at a word and it's not at all the same word that is actually written. Only lasts for a split second. I can look at a word that says frank and I swear it says child. This is frustrating. Can you help me?

yes I did, but it isn't easy. Even now, when I perform day to day activities (write emails, letters, etc) I have to proof my work by reading it several times. Something that you may take granted, may take 3 times as much for a "trained" dyslexic. You had your laugh by watching the video and reading the comments, but I hope that you learned something that will help you understand dyslexia.

This commercial opened my eyes a bit. I have a learning disability but was never sure I could call it dyslexia because at an early age I learned ways to cope with many of the problems. Other problems were harder to deal with. This commercial tells of a few things beyond reversing letters. Things like reaching for the tomato soup when you want the mushroom soup when they are beside each other.

Please don't give up! I have a learning disability known as visual perception defect. I had trouble in college, too. I was lucky enough to find ways around it. For example, I had to teach myself to copy down notes with out looking at the board and I often used a tape recorder. I am now certified to teach children with learning disablities. If you need help alot of colleges have learning disabilities services that could help.
