  • @90JILENE My son drew a picture of a jujube (candy) holding a sword, therefore "killer Jujube".

  • I DONT GET IT THOUGH ITS U GET HURT WITH THE QUILING TOOL THINGY

  • @Allylesmith they are very tiny and were quite the challenge to make

  • I haven't even gotten my "beginners kit" yet for quilling and can't wait to sit down at my desk and follow along as you create your amazing quill creations!

  • @kaiamanda I think you will enjoy it. It takes a bit of patience at the beginning to master the basic techniques but it gets easier quickly!

  • plx make some of the tatorial plx

  • @TheMay1010 I'm hoping to do some of these in the future. Thanks for the request

  • pretty ^.^

  • @Tattahs Thanks!

  • that just looks Awsome :D:D

  • @NymphOfDeath Thanks!

  • where u got those pots?

  • @Rienei I made the pots using strips of paper and a technique called quilling

  • Killer Jujube, that is priceless!

  • what width of paper you have used and how did you made the double coloured leaves? leaves in which the inner are light green and outer is dark green? I like it very much and want to try.

  • The width of paper varied greatly with these plants. Most of the time I cut out the leaves from 3/8" paper to make the leaves.

The craft is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.

  • amazing, i just saw this video, dont know how i missed it. i thought it was an egg on a fork so i was wrong lol

the plants are soo cool and the presentation frame looked fabulous. what a lot of work. well done.

  • These are quite beautiful. I myself am an avid origamist, but my grandmother introduced me to this.

If you love quilling, try making an origami "Curler cuboctahedron" there's lots of videos for it and it reminded me a lot of quilling :)

    Awesome work!

  • Thanks so much! Off to check what a "Curler cuboctahedron" is :)

  • Isn't YT wonderful? Where else can you get to "meet" someone from the UEA?

I checked out your channel, you need to do more videos, your artwork is beautiful.

  • it sure is :)

Quiiling from the heart of Arabia heheh

Thank you .. but my work isn't as delicate and as beautiful as yours

It was my first video but I will soon be uploading more

Nice to meet you and hoping to see more of your work :)

  • Simply .. Lovely :)

    I think I saw a bonsai too .. ?

Thanks for sharing your work with us

    Best Wishes too

  • Thanks Misty,

I've noticed that the more often I quill the easier it gets, just like anything I guess...

Thanks for watching (and especially commenting I LOVE comments) :)

  • your quilling is amazing! i have never been able to master it myself

  • Now that you tell me I totally see it. Jujube assassin.

Those plants are wonderful. I want to say awesome but I use that word too much. But these are. Not only pretty but recognizable. Magnificent!

  • Jujube assasins...cute colourful and deadly!

    lol.

Thanks for the wonderful comment Dave, it made me smile.

  • I love miniature stuff and those plants are just about the coolest and cutest things I have ever seen!

Love the drawing...I guessed that it was a sword fighting octopus :~)

  • I understand the octopus reference. Jujubes don't have legs, lol.

The plants were fun to make, thanks for the kind comment.

  • Sounds like your son has Halloween on the brain! Love the shadow box, it must have taken hours to make all the plants.

    D

  • I've tried to answer comments on this video with negative results for some reason. But today the YT gods are smiling down on me. lol.

My son has a weapon/war thing going on, I hope it's a phase.

  • The response demons started about the same time as the audio review button showed up, coincidence?

  • lol! killer candy! :-) those little plants are amazing! the detail is incredible. just wonderful!

  • Finally YT is allowing me to answer all my comments!

Thanks for the kind comment Ruthie.

My son has a war/weapon obssession at the moment and manages to mix in the word "killer" into everyday activities. Kind of scary, lol.

  • I think your infinate patience goes beyond sick children. I would NEVER has the patience to do that kind of work. They are amazing.

LOL @ Max's drawing. I thought it was spider with a knife. I would have never guess killer jujube. Not in a million. Kids are so fun. :)

    take care - jenn

  • My son hates drawing and colouring and his "masterpieces" are very rare indeed and show up in the oddest places.

I had a visual of a bunch of jujubes with swords swarming accross the table. I don't know why it has so many legs. lol.

I find the small detailed stuff to be like meditation.

    hugs to you.

  • LMAO! I thought it was a sword wielding octopus but a Killer Jujube!!!! I laughed so hard! LOL and your quill work is fantastic. I love that shadow box you made. It looks like a tiny green house or flouriest shop. Just adorable! Now I have to try that.

  • If I had a daughter with a doll house it would be the best decorated one!

I thought it looked like a greenhouse too. The best part about the shadow box is that they shouldn't get dusty.

    Thanks for watching Tori.

  • OMG, all you mini plants are sooooo cool! I may just have to learn how to do that. They are so cute! Too funny about the drawing! LOL

  • The mysterious way my son's mind works! lol.

I followed step by step instructions that came in the kit and it really wasn't that difficult. Thanks Judy.

  • That is beautiful! Do you make the pots too? I am going to have to find a beginners set and give it a go!

  • The pots are made of strips of paper that are wound into a disk shape with a special tool (a metal tip with a slit that holds the end of the paper and you twirl the rest of the paper around it). You glue the end and then press out the center of the disk into a bowl shape. Voila, mini plant pot.

Once you learn the basic techniques (many tutorial here on YT as well) it is easy.

  • My gosh, how do you make those!? They are so darling! It must take lots of time!

  • Time consuming but fun. I find it a relaxing activity.

  • your tallented so cute they all are.

Thanks for sharing with us it was fun.

  • Thank you Lesli.

  • you are a great crafter! my sister does miniature knitted animals that are soo cute!

i make beaded clothed for dolls, made only of beads. my last was a bikini, hat and beach bag for a barbie. i was entering a contest but did not read the fine print that florida and ohio are not eligible to enter :( oh well at least i got more practice and it was fun.

LOL i love the killer jujubee!

    xoexo

  • wow ur awesome at that a hobby i never heard of before defiently different!

  • Thanks Tyler.

Quilling has been around for 500 years but I never heard of it either until a few months ago.
