Imagine at the moment of infinity when all things imaginable occur simultaneously and all things revealed; this will be among all that which has been, which could've been and that which may be.
Trent Reznor is GOD. His music is the world wide religion of perfectly pure sound. He should be worshipped and revered for his absolutely masterful power over each of us.
of all the music i listen to from vivaldi to cannibal corpse I LOVE THIS THE MOST!!! it takes me to a place were i once was... married and in love, young oh so young no responsibilities, but now i cry sometimes because i feel lost and this comforts me like no person can.
The fact that this is a response to "5 nin songs for suicide/heartbreak" pisses me off a bit. This song is too good to waste on a bitch ass relationshit.
Not only should you let an image come to you when you listen to his music. instead close your metaphorical eyes, and let a feeling overwhelm you, and you will see a side that very few can. Then you can truely respect music for what it is, and hear how it was truely meant to sound..
I hear sometimes Part fron Texts from other songs, or titels in this song. And I Love it. Even I close my eyes and hear this song I see a blak room sitting in it an wait for someone. And chills all ower .....
the same would apply to all humankind then... and would make us by default totally illiberal beings. I for one don't like that thought. I'd like to imagine Lucifer as the first revolutioner, rather than as a failure.
No matter what, those cajones would've been installed into him- gods either got complete control or none the way I see it. We are all a direct result of where we come from right? someone said this song made him think of the fall of lucifer
This suggestion is, more or less, subjectively controvertible (up for debate and irrelevant in this matter, so take it as you will), but peruse Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons" to espouse a more definitive perspective on the man-made metaphysical characteristics (and errant perversions) of religion, and its by-products.
I can´t picture anything but beeing in a really high roof...20th floor or so...a second befere a huge storm starts...thinking in how much I loved her, how much we hate each other now.
I don't know about you, but the music always paints a picture in my head when I listen to a song even if it's for the first time...I like your vision about this one. What I see is basically what the lyrics describe, a man standing on a hill by the shore, witnessing how life fades out of him...
You know what, hearing this song always reminds me of my relationship with my step daughter. I've been with her since she was born, I hate her biological parents, but I'll do anything in the world for that little girl.
i. love. this.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
This song is about 'bitch ass relationshit'...and existential crisis.
But the two are practically connected.

Love the song. The studio version is incredible, but the live version in the second part is in my opinion even better.
