  • Mining is good to the extent of overall developement of the country. Considering how we balance between nature and growth of civilization.

  • media wake up, bharat mata ki jay, kill all present gov, pura desh ko bech diya to angrege

  • India is being infiltrated by blacks from AFrica and impregnating women and young girls as young as nine years old leaving them behind the males who do that crime should be hanged right there mothers give their children away or abort them do to poeverty and I do not blame them. I know it happened to me despicable poverty and lack of RhoGAM vaccine forced me to give up on my children I did meet rich men but were abussive mean spirited to me and i did not want an abussive husband forchildsdad

  • Tribal people are more concerned and know better to protect their forest . I have visited almost all the forest of Orissa including the sanctuaries for a scientifice approach regarding my research . In Sukinda mines we are conducting frequent experiments for growing dalbergia and other plants in stress conditions . They way be planting 3 times . More important is whether the plants will get resistance in mine soils .

  • hello

  • I can see these people are voiceless, because they are outcaste the higher class dont cares about them . These women have to fight against these criminals who are destroying the forests.

  • @rekha68 , please do nont bring caste or race issue here, technically, nobody cares about other in India now. reasons are many: how many time, one person in city cares to respect or protect public property even if it belongs to another same caste person. Only political people are to be blamed here. They have power and they can solve anything that I believe. Destruction of public property, environment or anything is beyond caste issue. It is matter of ruling a place by a proper(improper) govt.

  • In my country (Hungary, Europe) people are protesting because of the closure of coal mines. It was interesting to watch that in India is absolutely diffrent.

But of course in Hungary nobody hunts or collects anything from the forest:)

  • More over tribal people will remain poor and will move to cities where they will be mis treated where they can only do demeaning jobs. Tribal people are living well within their limits, in a self sufficient and ecologically

sustainable manner. It is the government and Vedanta who are wrong in this situation. Governments should stop

catering to greedy big businesses. We are not paying taxes for that.

  • When you see the tribal people talking in this video, they are speaking truth. Forests are important and there is

lot of deforestation in India already. Personally I don't like the sight of cut trees. When the mining company

exits after mining all the bauxite, only desert will remain in place of forest.

  • woah that sounds just like sinhalese

  • There is nothing in this world that a bank can take from you which you already are. Those banksters are smart. They will influence an individual to slave for the very soil you stand on while laying claim to your very life in so doing. The banksters are the biggest free loaders on this planet. Your heart is more precious than all the money in the world! Surround yourselves with the natural body of life in these troubled times.

  • the mining companies will only leave a desert after they have exploited the ground. people will have no more work, no more forest and the land will be too poisoned to make agriculure. the mining companies will dig in other places of the world an make money, the tribal villagers are the first loosers and at the end humanity at large. for quick profit so people will have to eat their iPhones and flatscreens instead of vegetables....

  • Initially people in every civilization protest against industrialization...rather FDI is helping Indian economy in a zillion ways...what do they mean that they want to keep the forests alive for their children ?....is it not time already for the tribal people to move out of the forests and try to make themselves more adaptable to new society....this is where Maoists and these protesters do not make sense....they are against change....they just want to stick to forests, villages and farming.

  • dhruvgodara I think your eyes sees greed and your mind does not care for Mother Earth. You do not know that forests in this world keeps nature in balance...with it gone you are sure to die of it's cause one way or another. Every tree taken should be replace with a new one to grow.

  • @rdsh well said....

  • brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it does make you wonder if uneducated tribal women can stand up so fiercely there must obviously be something wrong with our city folk with all the possible eminities we have'nt accomplished half as much

  • very informative. learning about different countries & their struggles should be taught. thanks for downloading.

  • its an programmed video..far from fact..its very much a promotional video of the this social groups....there r many such cheap groups

  • Women and children are worst affected by mining & industrialisation in Orissa. Industrial mafia has even resorted to sexual violence to suppress them for resisting.

  • who is this idiot who gives the title "Orissa Women" ? They definitely belong to Orissa, but they dont represent it. A better title would be "Tribal Women of Orissa"

  • Same thing happening around my home town. "Tribal Women of Orissa," should read "Traditional Owners of Orissa," or what is left of them. Bob Brown of Australia Green Party did not visit us locals, just the mining management & Local Government Officers.

  • it's like the sham cocacola run in so many places. sayign they will do one thing and yet something else happening instead.. the poisoning of the waters.. yet the poor have or it seems like the poor have no recourse to any kind of justice.. The engineers need to address the situation . Put the people first not the profits.

  • Not just these poor in India, but the poor all around the world don't get counted at all. 2006 UNO's report on poverty stated that 44% of the world's population controls 99.9% of the wealth... and rest of the population share no benefits of the so called "Free Market."

  • Who cares about the poor people or their tribal way of life in every nation, as always, the rich and the powerful including the governments will keep feeding on them like vultures.

    What a damn shame !.

  • absolutely right but what are you doing about it sitting in your mansion and watching a you tube video if you care so much go out there.

  • Yes, I am absolutely right about what I said, but I am surprised that I am thought to be living in a mansion, when I am not, also watching youtube, as if I did not scan through youtube, I would not have known anything about the Orrisa women. Finally, I do care very much for the injustices that are happening out there, but being over 60 and retired for medical reasons, I just seem to have the time to take care of my health.

  • Being forced to reply after receiving a mail in my box, I wish some people will stop prejudging others before knowing any facts. Not everyone can get out there to solve problems. India has a huge load of issues that needs to be addressed, especially by its own people. To name a few, the quarrels between the Christians, Muslims and Hindus.

Bribery, corruption, discrimination against another human being called a dalit.. I could name more, but dont have enough space. Thk god that I livein Canada

  • They are doing the same with South America's tribal lands...thanks to World Bank....starving out the native indians and decimating the rain forests, all with gov't approval. Bravo to the Ladies for trying.
