long lining is far more sustainable than other methods of fishing tuna such as seining or trauling. Get your facts strait hippie, long lining is a responsible way of harvesting fish for food and releasing those that are too small.

Yes, any sort of fishing is destructive, in the sense that it kills fish, in order to provide food for millions of people around the world. If the long line is abandoned, or left under for too long, then more of the fish may be brought up dead, which seems to be the case in this video. Longlining is still one of the best ways to selectively harvest seafood in a well managed sustainable fishery.
