ive been exploring consciousness and spirit, contemplating a soul outside the body. ive been able to comprehend "living" beyond the body, and thanks to this, without the mind. i understand the practice of self-denial as a way to enlightenment now. we are but drops of water in the ocean that is the universe. everything exists on a frequency of energy, the light source, the soul.

To let go of ego is to stop letting other minds create egos within your own.

My philosophy on the Ego

There is more then one ego existing within us, there are many as egos are created through human linking of the minds. When one human comes into contact with another there minds create a link and this link becomes an ego that manifests its self through both humans. If you ask a human to tell you about it’s self it will most likely identify it’s self through the egos it has created through knowledge obtained from others.

i have a question, what seperates negative thought from positive thoughts, arent all thoughts neutral, but we take them as destructive or beneficitial. and is it really possible to change who you are, when yourself has been the consciousness behind all thoughts and emotions, or can you only change your thought processes? i feel when you find who you are you wouldnt want to change who you are you will find joy, enlightenment, but this is just a query im curious of

It seems that these idea's are on that far end of the spectrum. The ego is not a bad thing, it is a part of what we are in this reality and has a function within it. You are painting in only the negitive aspects. See that there is positive reasons for it's use.

Very good. The ego is the thinking that thinks it is us. It is a parasite living off the energy of our spiritual nature. We don't know any better so we just accept ego as us. Once you have an ego you will always have one, but you can reduce its influence to that of a little worm that can be squashed at will. You separate from ego by centering yourself in your awareness and constantly observing when the thinking swoops back in to play you separating from ego or to play you in any endeavor.

trying to get rid out your ego is like tryiing to cut a limb off....it cannot be done. i think what you are trying to say is that we need to change our reference point from the ego to the soul, but this is not done by suppressing, or even repressing the ego, but by recognizing that what we call ego, is in fact a very important part of us. whether one believes in a Creator or in some intelligent evolution process, in either case nature never creates unnecessary aspects of anything.

The Ego is a part of who we are, and to deny and or kill the ego would be impossible, the ego has a purpose, otherwise it wouldn't be there. I think the Ego is to be recognized when it surfaces...and when you realize the Ego is speaking or acting for the "Real" you...then find the place of love and acceptance and move into that vibration. The Ego can not really be removed anyway so, make friends with it and show it Who the Boss is! Just a thought.
