Been perscribed cortisporin ointment., Metronidazole topical gel, pilocarpine 5mg tabs, some sort of swish and swallow concoction - nothing works. I've used the dishwashing soap/petroleum jelly treatment, Burt's Bees wax lip balm, Campho-Phenique (which burns like hell), Hibiclens 240ml antimicrobial skin cleaner but still NO RELIEF! My lips are like leather wrinkled and cracked in the corners. OUCH!!!
OMG when I was first searching for the cure I also read to use dish soap which made the cheilitis turn into a bad cold sore that lasted months! I posted the real cure on my channel for anyone who needs it, that way you guys dont have to go through the same thing I went through.
maximum strength hydrocortisone (1%) will cure it... you can get it at Walgreen's for like 3 or 4 dollars... apply some over the affected area twice a day and in about 4 days to a week it'll be gone! It'll dry up in the first 24-48 hours depending on how bad it is and on the plus side since hydrocortisone is an anti-itching cream, any itchiness or burning is gone almost immediately =P

oh sorry, I didn't see that you replied to me till now! the tea tree oil worked really well for me. It cleared up the infection in about 24 hours, and then over the next few days it healed completely. I mixed in tea tree oil with vitamin E oil (about half and half), and after washing my face and brushing my teeth, I put the oil solution on. I did this a few times a day for two days, then once the infection was pretty much gone I just dabbed a little of the oil on my mouth before bed.
Hope the treatment above works for you, but if it doesn't, try taking iron and B vitamin supplements; this condition is often a sign of anemia. I also found tea tree oil to work quite well.

Do not buy this! All he said was to take Vitamin B and a probiotic and then use dishwashing liquid on your lips each night! That's it!

One cause of angular cheilitis is chapped lips (and licking chapped lips!) so make sure you moisturize your lips regularly.

just use any antibacterial soap- lather it up good with warm water. Protect your lips after with petroleum jelly . Goodluck!

it helps if you mix in just a few drops with some vitamin E oil; it lessens the sting quite a bit.
