  • Wow, this is cool Taiji

  • I wish I know what was being sung in the intro, but mixing it with a display of various self defense motions is a charming little intro. Still, as a man who practices Tai ch,i (mostly from dvds, so I suck at it) I love the feel of it.

  • Pretty cool but Tai Chi isn't really meant for fighting but it has many benefits. Learn it as secondary thing to help with your primary fighting style.

  • too many Dicks on youtube these days...

  • @heracles04 How comes?

  • lmao music

  • Which music is that plz?

  • this music is too dope

  • Respond to this video...He uses force where tai chi...well, doesn't utilize force this way.

  • @PuddlesMcNiggley i don't see the link between your comment and mine without offense.

  • @heracles04 I was agreeing with you.

  • @PuddlesMcNiggley oh, ok thanks for taking from your time to answer me. Have a nice day

  • @heracles04 ;-)

  • I heard this song in a karaoke in wudangshan haha awesome

  • I like the music. xD

  • Thats what i call a bangin underground rap!

  • Thats what i call a bangin underground rap!

  • This song is pretty catchy.

  • @diamondfrost3

It's a pretty old song. XD

  • nice vid

  • whats the song for this? LOL

  • The song is the best!

  • Great master of his art.

  • sorry, VoViNam is the best !!!

  • @Billionaire91VN Where do you think the core of VOVinam comes from ? Guess, .....China.

  • @Lanciau1 :)) :)) from Bình Định Gia and Võ Cổ Truyền

  • @Lanciau1 All martial art atleast in Asia started from Shaolin Kung Fu, Vovinam is one of them but it has a very unique style and form.

  • @Billionaire91VN hey man im vietnamese too but i dont think we should be biased on martial arts. most martial arts are derived from china so i dont think you should say what is best and what isnt.

  • @Shuukyou you are Vietnamese? i dont think so LOL

  • this is very good!!

  • what is the name of the intro song. i love it! ^_^

  • @max1987tonga yeah if anybody knows..please let me know ^.^

  • A full body strike with TJQ must break bones and shatter organs, otherwise it was done incorrectly or with defense in mind. Thus TJQ in MMA would be illegal to use if successful and ineffective if unsuccessful in destroying the foe.

  • the thing is that nobody would go into MMA with self-defense skills...Theres a difference between self-defense and actual fighting.

In a UFC ring, you are coupled with fighters of your weight, size, and sex. And you are stuck in a ring with gloves, mouth guard, referee, etc.

In real life, the aggressor could be of any size with any weapon. I think that in these cases, self-defense martial arts such as TJQ is more useful.

  • @Hastalamangousta lol...he defines it as "real life".......I do not completely agree with your logic on this one because we all have our own fighting styles when we face an opponent whether it is on television or on the streets.I for one am a street fighter that studied boxing and no i did not take lessons at a gym nor did i have a personal teacher...all of my fighting skills are self taught studying and teaching myself on how to defend myself that is centered in one fighting style "boxing".....

  • @Hastalamangousta ....it is because of the fact that i only have a few ways to defend myself using only boxing as my fighting style which is why this tai chi caught my interest, giving me the chance to learn a "full self defensive style" which allows me to defend myself using more than just blocking or dodging...I for one will be honored to adopt a defensive style as awesome as this into my fighting routine giving me a perfect balance of assault and defense as "my fighting style"..........

  • yang yang yang yang yang

  • self defense...really.....really. come on really!?

  • I love Tai Chi

  • the problem is no one on the street will attack the white guy like the blue guy did....

  • @lvladikov eXACTLY!!! This is what annoys me with a lot of martial artists, too many set scenarios.

  • awesome music and outfit

  • You're an excellent waterbender ^_^.

  • @ytrewqasfd @Ebis77

I don't want to argue, but I was wondering what you think MMA stands for? Mixed Martial Arts in the UFC, for example, consists of fighters who have learned muy thai, jiu jitsu, judo, karate, wrestling, etc, and it's only limited by what the fighters have trained in. I've studied Taiji, but enjoy watching MMA fights, the idea being to test which techniques/which martial arts work the best. I'd like to see how a student of TJQ fares against a Capoeira fighter, or a wrestler...

  • @dustybeijing too a point I will agree with you, but, I still think that a man is who you combat not the style. What I mean by that is because for example if a TJQ beat 1 wrestler it doesn't mean he will beat all wrestlers.

  • @frontstance Yeah, the man himself is a big part of it - his talent/natural ability, as well as experience (in practice and in real fights), and a few other elements. But if a TJQ student fights 10 different wrestlers, each one of those fights should be interesting to watch, because of the fighter *and* the martial art they use.

And I think that it's a shame that, if Taijiquan is really the great fighting style it's supposed to be, very few TJQ students have broken into Western MMA...

  • This martial art is the best when used against violent drunks and drunk relatives who want to roughouse. Cung Le practices tai chi, and he is an amazing UFC fighter.

  • Is Tai Chi as self defence technic a pure no weapon style?

  • @DantesDX No, there are various sword, fan and other weapons that are utilised.

  • HOW IS THE NAME OF THE SONG IN THIS VIDEO¡?????????

  • nice moves i know a guy who does the same thing as u he teaches it to. it really is a form of art then just fighting)

  • Impressive considering this is the ancestor of Aikido.

  • Very nice of you to know such a philosophy like Chi ... Keep going :)

  • looks really lame...

    Brazilian jiu jitsu forever

  • @BluePittbull666 BJJ is good too. Put these skills together with BJJ and you would be a more well rounded fighter. I use Tai Chi techniques/principles in my BJJ all the time and constantly pull moves that catch others off guard. Keep an open mind...it may serve you well. Tap you later!

  • @sebutuoy

Like what? if you dont mind me asking.

    Thanks in advance, my friend.

  • @SkemeKOS Well, balance for starters. Tai Chi when practiced correctly will improve your balance significantly. With no Judo or Wrestling background to speak of, I have a very strong base for stand-up and an equally strong take-down defense....all thanks to my Tai Chi background. One of the principles of Tai Chi is to use your opponent's strength and redirect it to your advantage. Success in BJJ is dependent on these very same principles. Use technique against strength and redirect energy.

  • @sebutuoy

    I see.

Balance is a VERY important attribute to have as a martial artist.

    Thanks for answering, my friend.

  • did i heard ba gua?

  • keep up the good work master tsao!!

  • 老趙,你都要死了,還學什麼六點半?

  • Where to buy that suit that Master Tsao wears?

  • Master Tsao, I want your outfit and skills if you don't mind!

  • @winterwolfx :-)) !

  • thumps up if u think da song was kick ass :)

  • Great video, I can see a lot of internal chi in Master Jesse Tsao on Yang movements and that takes years to develop

  • Great video, I can see a lot of internal chi in Master Jesse Tsao on Yang movements

  • @Altairograph true! Martial arts in a lot of cases has been dumbed down. People seem to forget it IS about life protection. In a lot of traditional dojos, they do learn to fight without rules. When we practice self defense and such in our schhol, a good 90% can be fixed by doing like you said: poking out eyes, crushing throats and so on. And why not? :) Its much easier than rolling around on the ground getting pummeled!

  • MMA is great in all...but if these guys fought eachother...i guaranty the tai chi master would win. They know moves that kill, knock out, paralyze...look it up its freaky lol

  • @henryk8675309 not just tai chi masters, doctors who study chinese medicine will be able to knock you out too.

  • For anyone who thinks Tai Chi isn't a "real" martial art, I dare you to go against a master or someone who's practiced it legit for years. They can kick some serious tail!

  • @ericco79 Yeah, also they live long and healthy :)

  • @ericco79 I don't know, he would have to take you out with his first shot cause in a real fight someone would just throw himself at him, take a kick in the process and then stick his fingers in your eyeballs. I have a lot of respect for any martial arts master but I don't see any martial arts being made for combat without rules. There is a reason why soldiers are being taught self defense systems, not martial arts. Self defense systems are designed to work in a fight without rules.

  • cute dance

  • @PillzHereify I never said Bruce Lee told the story of Yim Wing Chun. fauld5 said Bruce claimed Yim Wing Chun as part of his lineage. Do try to read all posts before responding, you won't embarrass yourself so badly.

  • he's an asian dude. Don't even try.

  • @PillzHereify Sorry I didn't mean to wind you up, I only wanted to share where the moves come from to aid your knowledge!, whatever you study however you study it the quest will make you a better person!!

  • @PillzHereify err, wasn't "Wing chun" invented by a shaolin abbotess called Ng Mui, so that a peasant girl called Lim Wing Chun could defeat a bandit in single combat. The entire system had to be taught in a month so it is based on the first 4 movements of tai chi 108 style, Ng mui was an expert in tai chi, and shaolin kung fu....wing chun is based on tai chi!!

  • @fauld5 There was no one named Ng Mui or Yim Wing Chun. It's a story they made up to gull idiots and it's still working to this day.

  • @Kwimalo Bruce Lee himself claimed to have a direct lineage to Yim Wing Chun through Ip Man, He reseached the history of his art very thoroughly when he deviated from it to invent the eclectic art of Jeet kun do. There are several references in "The tao of Jeet Kun Do" if you follow them you will learn how Yim/lim wing chun modified sticky hands exercises to make them external rather than tai chi internal push hands exercises.

  • @fauld5 You're citing *Bruce Lee's* research? Really? So in addition to being the pinnacle of human martial arts (and I mean that quite sarcastically), he's a fucking boss historian now?

I re-iterate: There was no Ng Mui; there was no Yim Wing Chun. These are stories like Paul Bunyan. Bruce Lee claimed a lot of shit in his headlong scramble to become the best known martial artist in the world.

  • @Kwimalo what about "René Ritchie" is author of Legends of Wingchun: Embers of the Shaolin and Yuen Kay-San Wing Chun Kuen: History & Foundation, co-author of Complete Wing Chun: The Definitive Guide to Wing Chun's History & Traditions,".....He is a "boss historian"......he likens it to other oral traditions like christianity...there must have been a "Wing Chun" otherwise where did the name come from?...same as there must have been a Jesus...but the word christ means annointed one..??

  • @fauld5 Rene Ritchie is correct in that it's an oral tradition; he's incorrect to assume that there had to be someone named Wing Chun since the name had to come from somewhere. Or if there *was* actually someone named Wing Chun, that any of the things ascribed to them is in any way true. Why isn't the system called "Ng Mui"? Why would a peasant girl have to fight a bandit? Why does critical thinking go out the window when westerners talk about Gung Fu?

  • @gamma235

Ive seen people demolish others using the old windmill tactic. that doesn't make it any good.

I'm not saying this sucks, I'm saying that if you want to be a really good fighter you need a broad spectrum of fightingskill not one nich

  • NICE MUSIC HAH XD

  • i wanna learn combat tai chi so bad that they only had boring slow movement in perth

  • @anonymous133711 There is no such a thing Combat Tai Chi. Go for Jiu Jitsu or Russian sambo or Israeli Krav Maga

  • @valgez there is , i believe its called tai ji boxing or something

  • @anonymous133711 Doesn't matter what it's called, look in the essence of the thing, not its name. And the esence is you'll do meaningless slow exersices generating cosmic powers, while your pockets generate income for the Sifu and feed their ego. Go for Israeli Krav Maga, Russian Sambo, BJJ, or any other Hand-to-hand combat system - no matter how it's called - go to dojo, look what they do, ask questions - you'll see.

  • @valgez im already an aikidoka, but i guess ill try the krav maga or the sambo since my weak arms cant handle jiu jutsu

  • @anonymous133711 Russian combat sambo is quite similar to BJJ. But why is weak arms being a problem?

  • @valgez thin fragile arms because im a hermaphrodite, girly body, n im a male btw

  • @anonymous133711 Well, if so, then go fuck yourself

  • @valgez as if a male with female body exists :))

  • @anonymous133711 No, You DIDN'T lie!! HAHAHA!!! It is now that you're lying!!! HAHAHA!!!!

  • @valgez i will fuck myself :)) but i wanna fuck ur mom 1st

  • @anonymous133711 HAHAHA!!! You???? HAHAHA!!! You fucking hermophrodite .... gonna fuck my mom??? HAHAHA!!!!

  • @valgez i lied :D /trollface

  • @anonymous133711 Try to get in contact with anyone trained by Dan Docherty in Glasgow, His style is practical Tai Chi Chuan. The boring slow movement is to check your balance and focus are centred....NOTHING is better than Tai Chi in my opinion....Valgez is right though, there a lot of fake morons who claim to be enlightened!...Read "The power of internal arts" by BK Frantzis....he had 26 black belts and knows what he is on about.

  • Nice round telegraphed punches, from a rediculouse distance. no one on the street of in a bar or any where fights this way. lets see a fast sucker punch. from close distance. Or more accurate the barage of crazy swinging punches people use in real fights. Tai Chi is good for keeping old people nimble, useless on the street.

  • His face at 00.23 is like "omfg no wayy"

  • mantis fist? did i just saw some mantis fist movement!?

  • mantis fist?

  • It's important to know that attackers are not going to be stopped so easily. You might as well believe that catching a bullet is possible. Great song although it annoyed the shit out of my cat!!!

  • this song is AWESOME!

  • Imagine some crazy guy trying to shake a spider off his head and hes scared shitless ... thats what this song reminds me of

  • This is a joke video right??

  • funky music

  • none of those who foretold others shall be made His idol and none he shall be.

  • Looks nice. Realy reminds me of Aikido, but you can clearly see the special Chinese twist in it. Has a bit diferent aproach.

One thing: I had the feeling, that the atacker isn't realy been taught falling right. May be bit dangerous if practicing with partners often.

  • you suck that is not real thats just stupid

  • Is Master Tsao still located in the San Diego area?

  • @proginosko Yes, he is in San Diego, CA.

  • @taichitsao Thanks. Does he have his own kwoon? I remember him teaching out of recreation centers. I am getting older, just turned 50, and I want to start focusing more on the internal arts rather than the external arts for both practical application and health reasons.

  • @proginosko He is in purchasing a permanent facility of his own, but he is still teaching at rental space right now.

  • @taichitsao is tai chi really good for self defense? i know this demo looks good ,but i dont know for real whether it will work in a street fight, after all streeet fights anything goes.what if like ur opponent is faster striker than the tai chi fighter? since tai chi is slow moving. So will the tai chi will lose rite? Sry for asking many qns,i just want answers and i mena no disrespect to tai chi.

  • @MechPhantom

    Tai chi moves. Fast.

  • @MaBu888 fast or very fast? The queation is,what if ur opponent is faster than the tai chi guy? Surely hes dead right?

  • @MechPhantom

Timing is really good in taichi. Little to no opportunity will there be for the opponent to express speed if the tai chi guy does know what to do.

  • @MaBu888 hmm but like for example wing chun vs tai chi, wing chun hand speed is the fastest right? if not legendary, like what if the guy keep doing fast,i means very fast chain punches non stop at the tai chi guy's face,i mean its impossible to block or evade lol rite? so how can they win in that situation, for the tai chi guy? thx

  • @MechPhantom

like what if the guy keep doing fast,i means very fast chain punches non stop at the tai chi guy's face,

That would be very interesting to see. I imagine the taiji guy would not just stand there, but change direction, and oh use his feet. Hands can be placed in a block position. The good thing is that taiji can fight stand-up in all ranges. I don't do taiji I don't have much more information at the moment.

  • @MaBu888 ok thx for ur time bro,but i thnik the wing chun will win lol. After all its designed for street ,unlike tai ji,mostly for health and a bit of self defense, but not much in a street fight, but still good

  • @MechPhantom

Actually, no. Taiji is only taught nowadays primarily for health reasons, but this is not supposed to be so. The health benefits of taiji are supposed to be automatic, similar to chi gung both in amount and in depth. Doing taiji only for health reasons is like doing boxing for dance reasons.

  • @MaBu888 so yea what i tell u ,its for health ,like just u say .thx bro for seeing things in my way

  • @MechPhantom

You are right if you say that you won't find much self-defense oriented taiji clubs out there. Most rely on other styles for that, others don't. :)

  • @MaBu888 haha ok man thx soo mcuh for ur time,ur a very smart person, nice to meet you and thx again. Talk to ya some day bro,see you.

  • @MaBu888 Tai ji can be used to fight in a certain exten but not mostly, but at least still can be used. But i doubt it can be used in a VIOLENT street fight, where mad ppl suddnely attk u,but xin yi,wing chun and hungar yes they can. But tai ji yea cannot, they will end up dead. Thats why i see many ppl in singapore(asia )he where i live do tai ji for health reasons as its good for health nothing else.Btw boxing and kung fu is 2 different things.so yea thx

  • @MaBu888 continued, lol thx for the videos u shared, some are quite strange lol haha.

  • i do MMA, and i just wanted to say that im ignorant knob, and believe that im invincible and that every other martial art, whether its for legitimate self defence or just a hoby, is non effective and should not be practiced, becuase i do MMA, anyone who attacks me in a octagonal stage, with a referee and will abide by the rules, will get owned,,,

  • I'd smoke you in the octagon PAL! Bring it on...Class will be in session...So sit down, shut up,and hang on. Newbies

  • @ytrewqasfd hahaha, figures from an idiot that can't even spell properly. How can you master anything, if knowledge is out of your grasp. I'd love to see you put me in a lock with a dislocated arm from after throwing a foolish punch....

  • @japanesetyperdriver umm there is this thing called...sarcasm...don't know if youv'e heard about it....

  • @japanesetyperdriver figures form an idiot that can't analyse properly, go re read the comment, then use your brain...if your normal and not retarded, it should be telling you that....the comment was a joke....idiot

  • @ytrewqasfd I find it hilarious how you can try and call me stupid and tell me to re-read my comment coming from somebody that cannot even spell properly or use grammer correctly. The only person who needs to re-read their comment is you....sadly of course....

  • @japanesetyperdriver yeah it's youtube, not a school english assignment, so i made a few typos your still the idiot that doesn't understand sarcasm, and i was telling you to re read my first comment then you might get the joke...not likely though

  • @ytrewqasfd 赢

  • @ytrewqasfd

    Hilarious, can I steal it?

  • @Outermainstream you may

  • @ytrewqasfd ...You do Bushitdo lol..HAHAHA, What is MMA? is called Mixed Martial arts. .which is also know as mixed Military combat arts...You will get owned with those useless MMA ruleson the Street....Just like those BJJ-MMA bullshit artistsin NYC all end up Cut-Up.and end-up dead or hospital...Too much sport fighting MMA

  • @ytrewqasfd ...You do Bushitdo lol..HAHAHA, What is MMA? is called Mixed Martial arts. .which is also know as mixed Military combat arts...You will get owned with those useless MMA rules on the Street....Just like those BJJ-MMA bullshit artists here in NYC, all end up Cut-Up.and end-up dead or in the hospital... Too much sport fighting games like MMA for your TV shows Brainwashed very good

  • @USN288 Exactly! That's what I am talking about! MMA fans are brainwashed! The real win is in avoiding a fight! That's why we NEVER Tai Chi stuff in a real fight! Because Tai Chi guys are SUPERPEOPLE! We never fight with simple mortals, never reveal our Ultimate Supreme - that's why we prefer getting punched by hooligans, but NEVER will we unleash our true power - That would destroy the whole neighborhood! We proudly walk away, and no matter what they think of us. :-))))))

  • @valgez haha man u made my day xD

  • @ytrewqasfd No way!!! I've studied Tai Chi Chuan in its most ultimate form (known only to the Sifu and me) from The Grand Tai Chi Emperor! It's so slow, you won't even think I'm moving! While all that, tremendous energy derived from the closest Supernovas is moving in me - I will infernally damage your organs, your soul, without even touching you. In fact, i can even send your soul straight to Hell or Heaven (YOU choose). That is why my Ultimate Supreme Tai Chi is better than MMA.

  • @ytrewqasfd My answer for this dumb comment ll be short: MMA is not an art, life is not cage. When u ll pass 40 years or more your body ll be wrecked, and then anybody can 0wn you anywhere. It looks different in martial ARTS, in this case you develop your body and MENTAL part during all life, and even you r 60 you still able to kick some ass. So if you can't understand Asian Martial Arts try to learn respect for other ppl.

  • @Melzarek Genius dude, well said!! I've studied a lot of arts and I regularly get beaten by an 80 year old dude...I want to be as tough as he is when I am his age!....( I am no pushover, before you imply we fight softly with handbags at dawn!!)

  • @Melzarek right and here is my answer to your dumb comment, my original comment was a sarcastic joke, completely ridiculing MMA, i don't care how great you are at tai chi or whatever, because your a clearly a moron, who can't undersand basic sarcasm...

  • @ytrewqasfd I get sent MMA fighters by trainers in the midlands UK as I am regarded as quite a good pure tai chi chuan instructor...I once had a real knuckle head that told me he was invincible and nothing could put him down...we had a disagreement and he attacked me full on!! I couldn't believe it!!...I sidestepped with a bagua turn and broke his floating rib with a "single whip" movement...he went to hospital...his trainer complained I had "ruined the guy's confidence!"...what a fool!

  • @ytrewqasfd fuck you, u get owned by Bruce Lee out on the streets where there are...no fucking rules.

  • @ytrewqasfd MMA is just a mix of muchs martial arts but hmmp.. thats not a martial art it should be called MKP mixed kicks and punches >>

  • @darklight286 wrong mma is a mix out of kickboxing, wrestling and ground submission nothing more

  • @ytrewqasfd you think you are good enough because you do MMA. but listen buddy, in the ring you have rules and a referee to stop you, but if you fight with no rules, you will get your ass kicked so hard that you will feel sorry for your freaking silly comment...

  • @jidvil what the fuck are you talking about? clearly the comment i made was complete sarcasm, and in fact paying out MMA and people who do it, christ re read and try using your fucking brain

  • @ytrewqasfd

Apparently people don't understand sarcasm. Honestly the idiots who are that quick to defend their martial art without reading properly and analyzing using their brain are just as bad as those arrogant MMA fools.

  • @th3warr1or yeh i know seriously some people are such spastics, the comment is obviously, not true, but ive gotten so many replies, seriously dozens, form people thinking it was a legit comment...morons...

  • @ytrewqasfd

Sarcasm at it's best, and the spazs can't comprehend it. Maybe they've taken too many blows to the head.

  • just need some MMA or Muay Thai guys saying that this is shit and it can't do anything against their style..

    Anyway this is awesome !

  • Master Jesse, much respects to you for showing these applications...they are really great. I am also a tai chi chuan practitionar. I wanted to know what you would think the defense against a full fledge sleeper hold would be (real sleeper hold and not some loose sissy hold)..I thought of some things but u are a master and i know you know alot more than i can comprehend. Please help me out with this situation. Thank you very much...Looking forward to your response

  • wasnt he in the hangover?

  • 3:00 PRICELESS !

  • i want sparring with the fat guy : that will be amazing !

  • Wonderful! Notice how he gets his body weight behind every move. the man who does this is unbeatable.

  • This is the very first time I found a video that shows the martial arts origins of tai chi. Seeing it like this, it now makes a lot more sense.

  • The music sucks shit, but the demonstration is as precious as rare gem.

    i 'm Chinese descent too.

  • @taichitaso

Sir, can you show me how to defend against a muay thai roundhouse kick, Thanks

  • @emanresu81 Supporting leg, or close the distance and disrupt your root. Muay thai is a good system, but all systems boil down to who is more advanced within their discipline.
