Great to have you back. Like you I am unsure of the "stimulus package". When Washington talks of Stimulus it means pork projects. I believe that part of the problem why we have a $9 trillion debt is because the American People want everything from the Government.

I think it's more that the things we want, we aren't getting, all in the name of smaller government, while we send our taxes to Iraq, and to National Security. The government should come in and either nationalize the oil industry, or impose strict regulations on them (and ACTUALLY ENFORCE THEM, unlike the Bush Admin. has done.) Same goes for health insurance providers.
I hope you would reconsider about nationalize the oil industry and for health insurance. It is true I don not trust the oil indusrty and health insurance companies but I trust the government even less.
Well..that depends on what government. I agree if we're talking about the Bush Admin, but if we have a government that behaves like a government, one that doesn't appoint former industry reps. to the Fed. Organizations that regulate them, then it is a good idea. I'm assuming an Obama Administration. I trust a Democratic government, not a Republican one.
It would not matter id Obama is President nationalizing the oil indusrty and health insurance will make matters worse. Look at what is happening to California with calicare and look at what has happened to Oregon with state run health care.
calicare and other forms of it (massachusets) isn't nationalizing healthcare...thats just forcing everyone to buy health insurance lol...single payer healthcare is completely different and factually speaking the best healthcare that exists.
it depends what you mean. Yes the state covers the people who havent bought there own health insurance (between 4 & 6.5 million people) but the state pays the bill directly to the health insurance companies and pharmecutical companies etc. Government run healthcare in the scandinavian places for instance cut out the for profit middleman and have the lowest costs and most functional systems in the world.
See? Not so bad as people think! Conservatives and Libertarians are so afraid that big government mean automatic reduction in freedom, but think of it as "freedom from coporate abuse." :)
