  • The next edition of Angry Birds should be dedicated to the crew of 1549, they LITERALLY conquered a flock of birds angrily coming their way

  • why is the atc saying, 1529?

  • Excellent recreation. Tastefully done. Great job.

  • Brilliant pilot. God bless A320.

  • Minor error on video at .43 seconds, it relates Zulu time as being 15:34 and local time as 3:25 which mean the same thing. Actually Zulu time (Greenwich Mean Time) is 5-6 hours ahead of EST (Eastern Standard Time, the local time). Zulu, or Greenwich Mean Time, is accurately time coded in top right of screen as 20:24:54 (8:24 pm GMT)

  • This Captain´s action, alived us of theese reminds of the past, In which planes with problems had no solution, and aerial circunstances never ended as we wanted. Thanks, Chesley Sullenberger.

  • 5:52, Cactus Fifteen Twenty Nine. Since when there is a "Twenty Nine" from a "Forty Nine"????

  • @zhiheng2005 Since a heavy jet was faced with landing in a river, dumbass.

  • @rpmiracle what the fuck are you saying, fag?

  • @zhiheng2005 Pretty much saying you're a fucking moron. ;) But you already knew that huh sweet pea?

  • @rpmiracle Yeah I knew it just saying though. No reason why I can't say that right?

Unless you are the owner of YouTube else just stfu

  • @fruizlopez:

    YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE

  • That must have been a sight to see that plane crash landing into the rivet

  • Brilliant ! ! ! ! ! That pilot rocks !

  • - We're gonna be in Hudson - I'm sorry, say again cactus

    LOL

  • Thats why i love Physics and Maths [For Sure]

  • Oh yeah gr8 animation by the way!

  • What I admire the most is the calmness and confidence in the Captains voice while he is talking to F/O and atc at the same time. "unable... We'll be in the Hudson." If Im not mistaken another aircraft had to reasure atc "he said he'll be in the Hudson" lol! Big high five to both pilots!

  • this flight was all over the news but its cool to watch it and see just how well he handled it

  • Aside from the obvious miracle that happened, Did you notice that the controller called the plane everything from 1549 to 1539 to 1529... The stress creeping into to a highly stressful event.

  • @rodgregg Sully did the same thing as well.

  • INCREDIBLE! He has to be one of the finest pilots ever ... and definitely one of the calmest human beings too. Absolutely amazing.

    ~South Africa~

  • Love this part, seconds before landing:

    Sullenburger: "Got any ideas?"

    Skiles: "Actually not."

  • Does someone say "idiot" at 5:20 ? :)

  • @Theodorus5 I believe they said "88"

  • @Grinceman

thanks Grinceman :) I'm relieved. So it looks like everyone kept their cool. Outstanding.

  • Amazing, wish I was in NY that day to capture this on video.

  • nice video

    well done

  • 6:52 "Got any ideas?" "Actually not."

Last thing I would ever want to hear my pilots say.

  • runway hudson for guy :)

  • so quiet.

  • This video is fantastic!!!

  • is this fsx?

  • @flankerlaur

    :|

No, it's an animation, FSX couldn't do that.

  • Check out the SPOOF HUDSON RIVER LANDING! LMAO! =) =) =)

  • Luck didn't land the plane, Knowledge did. If you loose all power you must point you nose down to maintain sufficient airspeed than you have to see what is available for a landing strip. There was no possible way to turn back to the airport or to be rerouted to a different airport because the A320 is not a high performance glider. If you land slow enough and keep your wings absolutely level. This is what will happen!

  • Wow if you don't know what happened you need to stop playing cod and cussing at five year old kids from australia for at least 5 minutes a day, and possible pick up a news paper. And no its not a conspiracy. Geese aren't going to be the next terrorists. I promise

  • I'm guessing the # symbol at 3:42 is a cuss word? lol

  • @Lisztman88 That's generally what it represents in aviation transcripts.

  • i cant believe its already been 3 years since hudson river crash!!!

  • Stunning animation - amazing Captain!

  • The only thing missing a Close Capion. I myself do not know any English... :)

  • In the dictionary under "Professional" they will have Capt. Sullenberger's picture: (Every response so utterly calm): 4:43 "we're unable, we may end up in the Hudson" 5:06 (tower: it's gonna be runway...) Sully: "unable" 5:56 (tower: you can land at Teterboro) Sully: "We can't do it" 5:58 (tower:OK which runway would you like at Teterboro?) Sully : We're gonna be in the Hudson.

Give that man the Nobel prize in "Chill under pressure"...

  • 41 birds disliked this, they think it's a conspiracy out to get them, and are waiting for the historically revised bird supporters version to come out of their bird brain friends in Hollywood!

  • In soviet russia plane flys pilot

  • WHAT ROCK ARE PEOPLE LIVING UNDER NOT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS WATER LANDING? Sorry, I forgot, they were playing videogames...

  • @tonytor53 It's called the American Public Education System.. It creates ignorant individuals that are completely alienated from the world around them..they actually love not to know things and they brag about that very often.

  • 3:06

    CAPT Sullenberger

uh what a view of the

    Hudson today.

  • The only good goose is a cooked goose.

  • The Angry Birds from hell!

  • now its chilling in the good ol' Tarheel State

  • Did anyone survive?

  • @KingX997 every single passenger and crew member....:

  • @KingX997 Everyone survived

  • Get the REAL story of the PATCO Strike of 1981. Read my book, "Forgotten Heroes of the Sky PART 1. Also this Controllers

experience on 911. Read how to buy my book on the link below.

While on You Tube search for AyXjdxtZPS0 It is about 911 and ATC. Very Informative..

    YouTube doesn't let you list an actual LINK on these Comments so you have to put together what I wrote below;

In the address line type 3 w's then dot (.) air-traffic-controller and then dot (.) org

  • Uhhhh...so what happened next?

  • i wish FSX had these graphics

  • who is in the background at 5:18 saying "idiot" ?

  • @3344utube They're not saying "idiot", they're saying "eighty-echo"...it's another airplane's call sign. Listen again. :-)

  • Vote down the top comments. This is not a video that requires jokes...How about showing a little respect.

  • @snoozer998 no one died. we know it's serious and that it was a huge deal, but it's been a couple years and again, no one died. obviously you were born without a sense of humor. I'm very sorry about that.

  • great animation

  • Truth

  • Why are people so completely witless?

  • he didnt get to practice, and he only got 1 try, so suck his dick this probably took you 3 tries to do.

  • It's not like planes or cars are any safer. What am I supposed to do? Walk?

  • What a pilot

  • And suddenly..... there were birds.

  • Damn Canadian geese

  • it's 2011 and still a chill goes down my spine as i watch this... unfu#%!nbelievable

  • Why does the air traffic control personal keeps calling this flight as # 1529 when he just gave clearance orders to flight 1549 a minute ago... how can he make such horrible error under these severe conditions.

All air traffic controllers have a radar screen with all aircraft in the vicinity is listed with flight ID #. A few times a day, within NYC's airports, there are similar looking flight numbers and numbers that are close to the flight number of another aircraft within the area.. strange.

  • @loh1110 I don't understand what you are saying. Was the ATC calling another flight 1529?

  • this was amazing. i loved how you had the blackbox recordings as well. thumbs up!(not asking for thumbs, saying ima give the video thumbs!)

  • What an "artist"! That's skill!

  • ha

    CAPT: "got any ideas?"

    F/O: "actually not"

but seriously, they kept their cool the whole time, massive respect for that

  • great work ! can you tell me what program did you use to do that !

  • If anyone is interested you can read the official report at the FAA website

  • I still get tears of joy when I watch this.

  • I never flew in a plane before and im 13 so I dont claim to be a plane expert but a pilot told me that had Captain Sullenberger turned around within one minute of the bird strike he could of landed safley back at the airport and saved the very expensive plane. Why isnt this ever talked about?

  • @duncan7599 Straight off wikipedia:The NTSB ran a series of tests using Airbus simulators in France to see if Flight 1549 could have returned safely to LaGuardia. The simulation started immediately following the bird strike and

  • @duncan7599 "knowing in advance that they were going to suffer a bird strike and that the engines could not be restarted, four out of four pilots able to turn the A320 back to LaGuardia and land on Runway 13"When the NTSB later imposed a 30 second delay before they could respond,in recognition that it wasnt reasonable to expect a pilot to assess the situation and react instantly, all 4 pilots crashed

  • @duncan7599

If he knew 100% both engines failed the first second of bird strike

If an open run way was aivailable immediately

If the aircontroller was able to clear busy airspace of La Guarda for his emergency landing

All those ifs takes time, quite a few minutes

Plus the fact that he must weigh the life of 155 occupants over the aircraft !

    The aircraft is a no-factor !

  • Damn. He stayed calm the entire way.

  • captain have big balls respekt

  • Were those birds?

  • Both the Captain and ATC gave the wrong flight number.

  • Sorry , this was boring

  • Try to do the same with an American airplane ha!ha!ha!

  • 3:41

  • 34 people were on that flight

  • @mightyjammyd123

I thought there were over 150 people on this 'plane?

  • @mightyjammyd123 lol i think they would have liked rather than disliked this video

  • @mightyjammyd123 seriously enough with dissing the dislikes. if everybody on that flight had a youtube account i'd doubt they would dislike this video. they would like it because they survived with the skills and experience from the pilot.

  • is this fsx if it is how the fuck did u even do that it just bounces u off the ground if u try

  • sink rate, pull up

  • If flying is so safe, how come they call it "Terminal" at the airport ?

  • I was kind of waiting for the bird simulation. Slightly disappointed when no birds showed up.

  • What a Pilot, What a hero to land the plane the way he did real skill

  • This is the perfect good example of "aviate, navigate, communicate"! He really knew what was the most important thing to do at the moment.

  • good job.........this is the best recreation on youtube

  • Wonderful CGI recreation of the flight.

  • I would lik to give praise to Captain Sullenberger, his first officer, the cabin crew and air traffic control for saving all those people. Well done!!

  • I am 35 and never flown in my whole life. However, I am an obsessive fan of flight sims. I understand flight a lot more than your average frequent flyer. I just seen this recreation for the first time today, and realized the tremendous tragedy Capt Sully averted. What an agonizing decent.

I was fixated on the screen for the whole clip. They were trully fortunate to have him as a pilot. Good job, Sully!

    1549, Splash on the Hudson.

  • one of the engines on that flight was working perfectly, the birds caused one engine to quit completly and the other to roll back to idle. If the flight crew would've reset their fadec the other engine would come outta idle.

    oh well, too late now.

  • - got any ideas?

    - actualy not.

    LOL

  • I was on a flight to Salt Lake, and when we landed, the flight attendant told us that they crashed... Scary...

  • 31 birds disliked this.

  • very informative animation and good decisions made by the captain he right away knew that he could not chance it and attempt to return to any airport maybe the only good luck he did indeed have was that that big river just happenned to be there in front of him if that would of not been available this flight could of ended tragicaly

  • This is nothing compared to UA Flight 232.

  • 31 ppl dislike. haha youtube.

  • Stupid birds.

  • @ 3:40 The birds screaming "AAAAIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!", then Kenny Loggins crooning "HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE!!!!" over the intercom and Tom "What a Dreamboat" Cruise takes over the controls! I bet "Maverick" would have been able to take the plane safely back to LaGuardia, he is SUCH a hero! HE can go right into the danger zone.

  • this is EXACTLY why you fly with the majors, with highly trained, alert pilots. Beware of anything Comair/Colgan, staffed by amateurs often with the FO having no direct experience operating the plane in question. Keep in mind the Colgan flight that dropped into a house on account of pulling *up* into a stall...killing all 50 on board...less than a month away from this incident.

There's no replacement for skilled, careful pilots.

  • is this flight simulator,,,if it isnt,,,what game is this???

  • great recon job - excellent

  • actually captain sulley just had the perfect conditions for an emergency like this. If there had been a thick fog or overcast, he would've been doomed. In my book, this is textbook luck.

  • @cyro8 The only "textbook luck" is the kind that happens when you're ready to take advantage of it, and Sully was someone who spent 42 years getting ready for it, training hard, investigating accidents, working the simulators, doing a LOT of emergency drills, and training others for emergencies. He made sure he was ready, and that was NOT luck. That was hard work and a lot of skill.

For the rest of you, this is a specially made 3D animated reconstruction, not a game or simulator.

  • @cyro8 cyro8 when you play Dungeons & Dragons with your nerd friends is your character’s name Chuck Yeager? Seriously, what are your qualifications for your dubiously sage assertion of “In my book, this is textbook luck”? How many thousands of hours have YOU spent in the cockpit of an Airbus 320 or jet engine aircraft? I am talking about actual flying, not cleansing and scouring it which is probably your occupation.

  • @cyro8 I strongly suspect that Captain Sullenberger was flying aircraft when the best part of you was sliding down the crack of your mama’s derriere and ended up as a brown stain on the bed sheet. Also, what exactly is “textbook luck”? I Googled that hitherto unheard of adjective/noun combination and could find nothing on Google about it at all.

  • @cyro8 Further, in life, I have found that when someone like Captain Sullenberger accomplishes something remarkable, there is always at least one trilobite like yourself that sticks his beak in with a downbeat statement to diminish the aforementioned person’s extraordinary feat.

  • @cyro8 Now why don’t you go back to flying your Mattel Vertibird as you smoke your crack or meth or whatever it is on which you appear to be tripping. Lastly, in the future when you are considering making a statement, you would probably do well to heed the message of the following Chinese proverb that clearly applies to you so well; “Better to be thought of as a fool, than to opens one’s mouth (or in your case, write a comment) and remove all doubt”.

  • whats the game called

  • i think that the most important tging that happenned on this day was that a flock of birds died.

  • Cool as a cucumber, that's how ya do it.

  • @YakFest

Yeah, that's what i wanted to say. I wish all pilots were like him.

  • Damn. At first i thought it was real.

  • outstanding!

  • That was absolutely fabulous and left nothing to the imagination. Well done to whoever put this together!

    Stuart (Scotland)

  • Captain Sullenberger's skill and cool head made all of the difference. He's a genuine hero, and a fine gentleman.

  • INNNNNNNNNNCRRRREDIBLLEE!!!!

  • That is really amazing 3d rendering, and of course fantastic team work. That flight crew definitely deserves all the credit they were given for safely landing that plane.

Amazing that there were no major injuries... Just amazing

  • Captain Sully's daughter goes my school

  • Great 3D technology really illistrates the flight

  • i dont want to shake sullenbergs hand id shake the animators hand alot more he diserves the credit

  • Sullenberg wasn't flying the airplane at takeoff... nice job on BOTH pilots parts, people forget that a copilot was there, I would rather shake the hand of Jeff Skiles than Sully... just for the simple reason everyone gives credit to the Captain when there's two pilots in the flight deck.

  • this happee\nd in my area

  • If only MSFS had that level of detail. Too bad it will be a while before we can get THAT much detail without completely killing our computers.

  • WOW HOPE ALL PILOTS ARE THIS CALM

  • If you listen and read what the captian and first officer are doing, it is team work here. That is why the first officer is called a "co-pilot." It wasn't just Captian Sully that brought this plane to a safe "landing." FO Skiles helped out an awful lot here. And in an interview Captian Sully said he could hear the flight attendants doing there job, taking care of the passengers and knew everyone was on the same page at that point.

  • I want pilot to run for presidency.

  • How do you dislike this? sure, it's an animation. But could those of you who disliked the video have the composure and professionalism to ensure the safety of 100-some passengers?

  • Nice job on the animation!!

  • his engine wasnt on fire idiot.

  • @tinoman2007

Both engines DID flame out, passengers and witnesses on the ground saw it.

  • Comment removed

  • Those birds where remote contolled. I smell terroism. Or maybe those birds tried to enact another 9/11. Damn birds

  • The ATC controller seemed to be oblivious that they were ending up in the Hudson and lost radar contact with the aircraft. I'm just saying, no hate intended.

  • @iwantpk2

As ssoon as the captain told him he had lost thrust in both engines, he was VERY aware of how grave the situation was. He stayed calm and professional while he hwas hyperfocused. He was so upset about it afterward he was off work for a MONTH. He was torn up the whole time he was talking to 1549; a few times you can hear his voice catch. His testimony before Congress is here on Youtube.

    Look for "Patrick Hartin"

  • Wow, jesus christ, those poor bird, can you imagine anything more horrible? Must have been like that guy in the begining of Lost that got sucked into an engine. That's gotta be a crappy way to die, minding your own buisness, enjoying flying and BAM hit my a freaking plane.

  • @Velox415

    Hahahahahaha...:D.

  • Airline Pilots are trained to keep an even voice, never to show any negative emotions like fear, etc. It is part of the job, keep passengers calm, even if you are so scared that are taking bad decisions or flying bad. I teach Forced Landings on take off to all my students, never skip them. I had pilots with great voices, making huge Panic Mistakes, to the point i have to take over to save myself.

  • This is why I only fly Boeing

  • @miamad A bird strike occurs regardless... boeing or airbus are the same damn shit....

  • The Captain of that flight is a HERO! All it would have taken for absolute disaster is for a single wing to graze the water a second or two earlier then . . . only death would have emerged.

  • That was intense. We must think of the entire crew and towers as heroes in this.

  • Good thing it wasn't a rookie or he/she would be freaking out and saying " OH MY GOD HELP HELP WE CAN'T MAKE IT AHHHHHH"

  • Capt. sullenberger is smooth as silk.

  • he was soo calm

  • where did you get that plane?

  • Just think how badly that could have ended if he'd tried to return to LaGuardia...
