it sad that someone would leave a comment implying one was only crazy. As if it came out of a vacum.
Have you thought about sociality. The roles/ boxes that girls and boys are put into are so limited. One assumes only a boy responds to a type of toy. That is crazy , the gender roles made don't match natures made sex roles, or what people instintfully know.
Everybody that has something different about them always is going to cause people to say this that or the other thing. Even when the deformation is physical like CP or something of that nature, people still find ways to ignore the problem because it doesn't bother them. Insurance companies will always find ways to get out of paying for someone elses loss. I agree that it is wrong for someone to say that their difference is of more concern than another person.
I believe I commented on this in my video "the causes of transsexuality". I would tend to agree that this is often the case, and that it would tend to prove that transsexuality is definitely not just "in our heads". However, it's entirely possible that some transsexuals have no visible physiological characteristics that would confirm their gender identity. That shouldn't be used to say they are not transsexuals.
I agree; I stand corrected. I do acknowledge that sometimes the lines are blurred. I.e. a gay person may perceive themselves to be of the opposite gender; which shouldn't be discounted as a fantasy. You're absolutely right; who's to say who's a real this or that?
i just wanted to say, that in fact "psychological" means biological, so all those arguments about the difference dont make sense to me. psyche is the part of the self, and its the brain that controlls how it works!!! all the psychological problems come from disrupted biochemical balance of our brain. so it is not wise to distinguish in that way that you both do - this intersexed woman and you :)
anyways. i think you are very smart, and i really enjoy your vblog.
You're right, I think it's so easy to put others down to feel better. I always have to be carefull not to do this myself about other people in the GLBT community.. especially after I meet someone who is unpleasant.
thank you again for sharing your thougts, but also understand that not all intersexed people, are treated with acceptance by families or by the medical community. Some conditions may appear to be better then others, as you quoted for CAIS, "parents-doctors" see them as girls. But fact is that not CAIS are treated like that, some get treated like crap by family, within the intersexed community, family acceptance and doctors treatment all depends on the family and the doctors that treat them.
I am not. However, she is the second intersexed woman I see thinking her condition is somehow more legitimate than that of transsexuals. I think there is definitely an issue there. Some people need to be a little bit more open minded. Some people need to understand that rejecting others who are in a worse situation won't keep you from being rejected by society in general.
ahh, small complaint, at 8 mins in, you mention intersexed people as being accepted by doctors and parents. Many do not get or ever feel acceptance by family or by doctors, a fair amount like myself get treated fairly cruelly. Now I am not trying to give anyone the wrong opinion of me or my thoughts, but please understand that acceptance happens because the people, parents or doctors, family members have the ability to accept, for many intersexed, that unfortunately doesnt happen.
TrannyGirl, I have PAIS and got a bit offended by the dismissive attitude of some of your claims. Don't stereotype all intersexed people based off of your interactions with one person...you need to keep an open mind too. I was incorrectly raised as a boy and went through a very traumatic adolescence and subsequent transition process...between school and extreme religious bigotry I was treated quite badly in spite of the biological nature of my condition. Please don't be hypocritical.
Personally, I believe transsexuality IS a form of being intersex, but it effects the brain. I'm transsexual, and when I came out to my mom she said that she does "believe" in transsexualism because she's heard of many stories of people having an intersex child and then getting rid of whatever parts the parent didn't want, which would end up often times not fitting the gender identity of the child.
...I agree that there is definitely a biological difference in the brain's of transsexual people. The biological difference from the "norm" for IS people in with our reproductive system. So the biological difference is different, however, both are "biological" in nature. You seem very sincere and have clearly tried to educate yourself regarding IS conditions, I only wish that PAISWoman would educate herself to your plight before posting such an ignorant response....
I think some Ftm are very biological. I think for many though it comes out of confusion as a young child, not quite fitting in, feeling anxious in life. A few will wearing soft mothers clothes, feel relaxed and happier. this continue for years and eventually becmes internalised so they believe they 'must' be a woman. does'nt mean they should'nt have the treatment tho.
About people 'changing their mind', I don't think there have been any studies on that in particular, but it's an almost universally reported statistic that roughly 95% of all people who go through transition (the medical side) report being fully satisfied with the results. Like, out of every 100 transsexuals who seek treatment (for lack of a better word), only five report -any- issues, and in cases where people want to go back, it could just as easily be misdiagnosis by themselves or a doctor.
J'ai vraiment adoré ta video. Je me présnte. Je suis française. Je suis une fille biologic. Et ça me va très bien. J'ai découvert la transsexualité il y a environ 7 mois. Au début j'avais un peu de mal comprendre mais ça va now.
Je sais bien moi, que ce n'est pas une question de CHOIX, les choses sont, and that's it!

this is very good.I actually pass...alot as a women and im not on hormones at all its wierd.and im adopted so i guess no one has looked to see if i was intersexed.lol im really confused.i think it might be my chromozones.idk.Oh and yes getting a job is scary as fuck.i totally understand.you pass fine though
You communicated many common thoughts and feelings I've found in the transgender community. Thanks again for putting your thoughts out there.
As far as choice there is one:
Do you suppress and deny your authentic self (often at a very high expense to your life and those around you) or do you find the courage to take on the challenges of transitioning?
Both are hard roads to travel. In my case I decided to suppress and deny but found I could only do that for so long.

True transsexuals also have physiological characteristics confirming their identity. For example, wider hip, curvy features, etc..

Transsexualism is NOT a choice. WHY would anyone go through all this if it wasn't essential?
