WHAT??How is that hardly a fair fight??A northampton heavy cruiser vs an old Kuma light cruiser(I see that it isn't even the night battle squadron version).The chicago would have utterly blasted the kuma from long range with it's main batteries before the kuma could have even thinked about returning fire

This is a fair fight? The kuma class suks and like funnyman said it is nicknamed a torp whore because that is what it was designed as and it had ridiculously small guns and suky AA armament and its tiny guns r useless in this fight.

Hmmm...9 8-inch guns (chicago) and 5 5-inch guns (Fletcher) versus 7 5.5 inch guns (Kuma).

The Tone class STANK! Yes, it had 8 8 inch guns, BUT ALL WERE IN FRONT OF THE SUPERSTRUCTURE! And due to the positioning, it was difficult to preform a "full broadside"

In my opinion, A Mogami or a Takao would've been a fair fight.

The Kuma clas is a horrible ship design hardly any AA looks horrible and its guns a useless

There's a reason for the lack of AA armament. The Kuma class was designed, built and launched during a time when aircraft didn't pose much of a threat, so it didn't have as many AA guns as the Takao or the Mogami.

Maybe so, but if you look at it from a historical point of view, very few WW2 naval battles were so called "fair fights". Coral sea, Midway and the Bismark battle were good examples.

That's what i call the confusion of war! Kuma was accidentaly hit by one of her escort's torps, Kuma should have turned hard to port but didn't due to rudder damage.
